Coutinho is awesome - but we cant have them all :) However i'd love us to get the other Wellington - he looks awesoem too - isn't he more of a wide midfielder? btw this Brazil u-17 crop has bags of talent.

Just want to comment on the youth v experience debate. i don't think we'l see much transfer activity under wenger. He only buys if it becomes critical, therefore we will just have to wait once this squad gets older/mature enough to win trophies. Wenger will not buy ready made players who will push players like denilson onto the bench. I think Denilson is brilliant but is a work in progress.

Mr. Sanderson, I have a question that has been gnawing at me for a couple of months. I'd like to hear your opinion on this.

From the reserves, who in your opinion, if anyone, is ready to become Song's understudy and fill the DM role while he is on ACN duty?

I've held a lot of hope in Coquelin since he joined the club. He's looked tremendous to my eyes and I'd like to see him given a shot.

I was looking forward to seeing him play in the Carling Cup this season and I really hoped he would take his chance and shine, so that Mr. Wenger couldn't fail to notice him. So you can imagine my disappointment when the reserve team right back, Eastmond got the nod in the Carling Cup matches.

Now I admit Eastmond did well. But what happened there? Frimpong and Coquelin were competing for that position for awhile and out of the blue Eastmond suddenly appears. It makes no sense to me. Do you think Eastmond better than Coquelin and Frimpong?

I'm not a Denilson fan, and I don't expect Mr. Wenger will purchase a decent DM in the transfer window. So I'd really like to see one of these fellows from the reserves given a chance when Song is away.

I fear players like Coquelin and Simpson, who I believe have what it takes to become Arsenal quality, won't get a shot and will have to leave the club to further their careers. To our detriment and shame....

I think senna is the perfect solution. He can replace song during acon. When he comes back, he can play alongside fab. He’s got an excellent shot, i think he could play in the champions league(not sure). Bad thing about him: he might find it hard to adapt to the premier league(doesn’t speak english and old). But hey you’ve got to take risks in life. He might also be quite expensive.

you really need to ask what walcott has done? do you really have that short an attention span? Also calling Denilson crap is ridiculous. He is a terrific passer even though a lot of his passes are forward (he even got 7 assists from DM last season), he can score 30 yarders like he did last week, he has the best intercept rate in the league by miles and is one of the top 10 most successful tacklers. All at 21. Where was Gilberto at 21? Diaby is harder to defend as he does have extremely bad days as well but I believe in him.

The point of buying kids with potential is they grow up. Parts of the team that lost to Spurs years ago went on to beat them 3-0 last month. Play without desire and passion? Is this the same team who beat Everton 6-1 and have been outscoring most teams that come to us with ease? Was there no passion when Cesc got 4 assists and 2 goals in 1 match? What about when Arshavin got 3 assists and 1 goal in 1 match? How about everytime when Vermaelan or Song look too far away and yet still pull off an inch perfect tackle from going the extra yard?

Anyone remember 2 seasons ago when Barcelona came 3rd and the public pointed at Xavi and Iniesta and said 'they are too small, Iniesta has no passion to stay in the team' and 'Messi would be great if only he worked harder to stay fit but maybe he doesn't desire it hard enough'. And then we saw these players grow a year older, a year wiser and they single handedly won everything within their grasp. 'Well they spent a lot as well that summer' I hear you say as if Caceres and Hleb really added... well, anything. (Dani Alves was important though, I'll give you that, their Vermaelan so to speak ;) .)

What is the point in buying kids with potential if they lose 5:1 against spurs in the semi of the league cup or 3:0 against Man City team( strong to be fair, but still). If they are so talented, why they play without any desire and passion? If everything is so good why we havn't won a single trophy since 2005? Why we are 3rd in the league 11 points off chelsea? Almost everyone at Arsenal FC thinks that You need to spend 100 milion pounds per season to be successful. It's not true. Yes, sometimes You must spend big,and at the moment we must since we need a world class gk, a quality cd, a quality cdm and a striker with winger.
Samuel- I respect Your opinion but- Walcott is overrated and Denislon is crap. Gilberto is still miles ahead of him. And what have exactly Diaby or Walcott done? Best wishes.

i really dont get d negativity here.. Everyone thinks that just bcoz someone is playing well in a different league, they'll automatically remedy our situation.. There is so much le gaffer has 2 consider.. Lyk can d player cope with d culture change, bcoz its almost lyk a culture shock 2 most players from other leagues.. Is d player willing 2 b a squad player.. Does the player actually have a good chance of making it in england.. This is real life n not fifa10 where a players ratings r d be all n end all.. On paper a team may look strong, but on d field, its usually not d case.. In absolute honesty, i'm pretty glad ppl r writing us off 4 d title again this year.. I never really thought ours was a title winning squad, think its 1 season 2 early 4 that.. This gives le gaffer plenty of tym this season 2 test d youngsters.. Give d club a real gunner backbone.. N then add certain pieces he feels necessary.. Who knows, by d season end, v mayb seeing players lyk freeman n afobe getting onto d bench.. Wow!!! That itself is an awesome thought

and list the attackers bought in the league the latest years. Berbatov, Tevez, Keane, Robinho etc etc., huge names but few can say to be immediate huge successes. So they need time to adjust, and talents need time to adjust. There has to be an exceptional player that comes through at once...not even Henry did that...Vieira did

Samuel, good points. The RVP cultured striker role fits perfectly supplying the sides coming in. So no Drogba type definitely, unless he wants to vary the tactics more. So who would fit that profile? Somebody with excellent close control , creativity and composure. When it comes to Diaby I disagree though, I think he has not been good, hit with injuries and being incosistent.

Song excellent, but Nasri, Rosicky and Denilson still trying to come back from injuries. Buying a new midfielder would then question Ramseys future development. The combination of wing backs, with the players supposed to cover, have not adjusted to new tactic; though wing backs proved themselves consistent in previous seasons. And Edu not fully back. Bendtner is out which leaves some physique, he always tries. Arshavin needs to perform, so needs Walcott though the latter has been injured

yaniv, agree with you. Eduardo was certainly one of the best players at Arsenal before the injury, as Song says give him time, Vela has wonderful composure and close control in tight space; just look at that one shot against City how he controlled the bend and dip, the one thing that lacks with him is his physique and mentality as you say. Which strikers would fill the profile? I can only think of Villa now, but way overpriced certainly. Do not think we need a target man aka Drogba/Carew/Heskey up front

By the way, is it not said before first team and youth squads have separate transfer budgets?
