A caught the Brazil v USA u-17 Game (USA Won) that Wellington featured in. Personally I thought he was a bit of a bore. When challenged he couldn't dribble well and was easilly moved off the ball. I didn't think he read the game very well and remember comenting to myself that if this is the future of Brazil, they are on the way down. That said, I hope I am wrong as I want nothing but success and glory for Arsenal! Hopefully Coach Bradey can bring the kid alone.

i won't stop stop using the term yid coz i don't mean it in a racial sense at all, you wanna talk politics go on the bbc website, spud yido whatever its all the same to me...its quite easy to get defencsive about i know as the word is essentially the same but don't take the stance that i'm reffering to jewish people coz i'm not its their nickname and millions of people call them that, and to the other dude by standard of football i mean precisely that it is youth football and he is potentailly in line for a place in the first team squad when he arrives, can he make that step? listing pitfalls or potential problems to try and keep level headed isn't my expressed opinion its ment objectively to emphasise a point not predict he will fail coz i think he's not good enough...if you'd read my comment properly then you'll notice i think he's very good for his age and am fairly confident he will do well in the future, trying not to heep too much expectation on him like we have burdened theo with the thierry tag is my intention....i'm very optimistic but it does my brain in when sickofant supporters create a band wagon before the guys even gets here....

This guy looks very promising, although his small he posses good strength, pace, accuracy and looks very trick on the wings. I think wengers got his walcott replacement already. Soon as his eligable straight into the first team i say. i think he offers a great threat we dont have currently a player like him.

Here is a fact for you then.....Did you know that Werder Bremen has the tallest team in europe? They are only in 6th place in Germany. I agree that it helps to have height at centerback and a target man but that is it. Diaby is tall but he does his best work with his feet. Thomas Vermaelen is only 6 foot which by no meens is a giant when it comes to centerbacks but he is great in the air (ask peter crouch about that). Height is a completely over rated thing when it comes to a sport that the ball is at your feet.

I was talking about team as a whole but even upfront if you dont have height then crosses are almost useless.

Andrew, what does our attacking players being short have to do with the fact that teams play long balls? Arshavin isnt playing defence on those long balls.

Rico there's a difference between one player and an entire team
now I am not saying we are midgets but we play in england which is all about physicality and to be a successful team in this league you need players who can get rough and hold their own and since most people know only one way to play (long balls) you need height to defend against it.
I dont mind 2-4 players being small in a team but when most of them are under 6 feet then that causes problem against team packing most above 6 feet.
I read a statistic between us and chelsea our average height is 5'10 and theirs is 5'11 so not much difference but the thing that made the difference was their weight their average weight was 78kg whereas our was 70kg.
This gap of 8kg means the difference between lightweight and heavy weight.

I dont know where all this association with height and football talent come into play, but when since did a football player ever have to be tall to be considered great, pele, maradonna, Garrincha, messi, all have average height of around 5'7 but are giants on the pitch, some people have to get the notion out of there heads that tall=talented otherwise we will end up with a team full of John Hartson's and chris kiwomya's ....

I just founnd something uspettng that I did not know. David Beckham finished 2nd in the Fifa world player of the year voting twice. It is actually making me feel alittle sick that this award is so horribly ran and the fact that it has such a big impact on history. 20 years from now some kid is going to look at that list and think David Beckham was once the 2nd best player in the entire WORLD. It was bad enough that Thierry Henry didnt win 1 and Cannavaro won in 2006 even though Ronaldinho was by far the best player in the world that year not to mention Cannavaro was playing for a corrupt team that got caught fixing matches.

Um...The statement "Ive seen many of Brazilians fail in the premier league". I have seen many of English players fail in the premier league...what is your point? The way Arsenal plays is perfectly suited for a creative brazilian player. Also the quality of teams he was playing looked bad? The black and Red team(Atlas) he was playing against was in the finals of the Nike Cup which is the most prestigious u15 tourney in the world. By the way he won the player of the tournement. As for the rest of the highlight, I doubt the Brazilian youth set up is any worse then the English u18s seeing as Brazil produce more good players than any other country in the world.

Don't feel bad mate. It was the Spuds who first began calling themselves that word many years ago, if i'm not mistaken. Also, there are many, many Jewish Arsenal fans out there too, so you're not alone.

Guys I truly cringe whenever I hear someone referred to as a "yid". I'm as big an Arsenal fan as the next guy on here but even if it is an excepted term to use for a Spur's fan, it still is ignorant and racist. Me being Jewish is secondary in this matter. I hate seeing racial epithets of any kind. I know it exists, but I'll fight it everytime I come across it. If you are wondering why I am an Arsenal fan even though I am Jewish, it is because I had no idea that Spurs were heavily backed by the Jewish population of North London, and I wasn't aware of the history of Spurs. I was an Arsenal fan long before I knew any of that lol.

ok where as i'm tempted to find the nearest yid and tell them this is the fella who's gonna be scoring all our goals against you for the next 10 years i'm gonna try and look at this in an analytical sense from what i have seen with my own two eyes......the boy has blistering pace, a very tidy set of feet, magnet ball control, and confidence that i wish some of our current crop where blessed with....all very exciting indeed....however.....he will never again in his career have so much time on the ball as he did in the video clips i have watched, i get the impression the standard of football he is playing in most flatters to decieve.....i say all this baring in mind he could be in line for first team football on his arrival assuming he is not loaned out, which envitably leaves you asking the question 'can this dude cut in the premier league'...we've seen time and time again brazilians that fail to live up to expectations...our Manure friends in the north will vouch for that....i think a realist view point needs to be taken to avoid doing what we british seem to do all too well, and that is pile pressure on the lad before he has kicked a ball by declaring 'sacre bleau, this boy has the va va voom to be the new thierry'....i've heard it with other players before and lets just say their still on a long road to trying to fill those boots.....he undoubtably has alot of talent and i for one am very happy we're landing players of his calibre....but lets just bare in mind his age and that the video's clearly show his composure in front of goal does not yet match his superior technically abilities, thus implying he will need time to adjust to life here and the football, the pace etc, the mental aspects of the game...all of which will come in time.....there's always the possibility he will turn up and score every game he plays in, but i'm reserving my judgement, putting it to the back of my mind and will let his football do the talking....i of course want the very best for the club and hope and pray we will be singing there's only one 'super welly' in the next few years but lets leave him to get his head down and crack on with his development for now.......much love all
