Hey, what do you mean by “even Coquelin would make…”? Coquelin is by far the best DM we have at youth level. He’s ten times the player Eastond can ever dream of being…Mr. Wenger should stop giving favor to English players!

Just for the record I followed Nortveit’s progress in the Norwegian league and want to say that he was in no way “impressive” there – at least not unless you are looking to recruit for a 2nd tier Norwegian league squad. He didnt show pace, strength or positioning aptitude. Not for a full back and not even if you look at him as a converted center back temping at RB.

I’ve seen Senderos and Djourou as teenagers do stints at full back and they looked FAR better – and htose guys havent made it at the top level.

One has to only look at how Ivanovic at Chelsea has done at right back or how Sol Cammpell effortlessly slotted into full back as a young player, or Wes Brown or John O Shea, to understand how little potential Nordtveit showed in Norway.

I cant speak to his performance in Germany, as I did not see his games there but honestly if he wasnt better than what he showed in Norway, then I think folks need to be realistic and just write the guy off.

Its a harsh summary and one that I would rarely make on a young player but honestly even Coquelin would make a better CD or RB or DM than Norrdveit ever will.

Just for the record, I don’t doubt the kid’s ability for one second, I was only asking as this blog was full of stories about him last season and it’s gone noticeably quiet on Barazite this term.

Nordtveit was a regular when he was on loan in Lillestrøm in Norway before he went to Germany. He was usually a right back there. And he actually played really impressive there. In Nürnberg he was a regular to begin with, but the club didn’t do very well and they got a new coach and he has spent most of his time since on the bench. Very unfortunate, because he had more good games than bad, most of the time he was average.

With Chamakh coming in we now have 3 players on top which really knows how to head, not forgetting Song is displeased with his goalscoring ratio and wishes to improve. The future is always sunny for Arsenal!

Like I have been saying, as a youth player you need to look for quality and not be misguided by quinity. You see the quality of goals Vela scores. He will become more of the finished article as he gain experience but a kid that scores the quality of goals he has already scored…..really incredible how people say he won’t make it. Another 1 is Bendtner. Everybody is raving about Chamahk but I bet Bendtner will be the one that has the better year next year.

I have watched several games of him this year , and exactly what I said was his issue. I don’t know if he is good enough or not because like I said, it is hard to judge a Defensive player in a bad teams. Espceially defenisive mid because on a bad team you can find yourself just chasing the ball the whole game.

no he is not. but he was recently injured i think and did an operation. i personally rate him, but youth players seem to fluctuate in our minds based on how inconsistent they are. But we are too impatient. People actually think we should get rid of Vela, but we all know he is quality. Barazite is quality also.

Nordveiit finishes his loan spell on a high by not playing in his last two games? jesus he must have been god awfull in the games he did play.

Dont see how people think hes going to be challenging for a squad place next season if he cant keep a place in that team. Send him on loan to an english club next time.

Wilshere can play in the PL with Bolton I hope Lansbury can stay with the first team for atleast the first 6 months and if Ramsey returns then he can go on loan if not Wilshere can come back and Lansbury can go on loan hopefully to a PL side so we can watch him week in and week out

shane you cant know how good Norvedit is because none of us have seen him playing regularly
he might be a good player in a bad team but if he one of there better players then he would have been a regular (if I am not wrong) and he wasnt so I doubt he was one of their best players

no way of knowing whos going to make it maybe if you have a player of wilshere or Szchesny quality then you can say they have a very very good chance but no one can know
who’s going to make it
A lot of players who look great in the youth system are flops in the first team

Eastmond has surpassed everyone’s expectations.
99% of people thought he was one of the least talented players in our under 18 winning team last season but Eastmond has the right attitude and that’s what a player like him needed and he hasn’t looked out of place in the PL which a lot of people do

Who knows if Norvedit is better than Bartley or Ayling
The player who makes it into the first team and becomes a regular will probably be judged a success and those who dont failures
Still its good to have 3 good options – My favourite from the three is Bartley everytime I see him I think of a player with the same potential as Ferdinand he just needs to keep impressing in his loan spells.

Nordtveit has got mad skillz and a great passing range. Good for a defensive player. Could end up a quality DM/Sweeper. Probably not dominant enough as one of two centre backs. Good attitude though.

Bartley has all the tools, but needs to improve tactically, much like Djourou
