Wenger Promotes Five Reserves To First-Team Squad

Arsène Wenger has promoted five Reserve team players to the first-team squad for the new season.

Emmanuel Frimpong joins last seasons loanees Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Henri Lansbury and Håvard Nordtveit in being named, while Craig Eastmond has now officially been included – although he was a part of the setup for the final part of last season. The news is also notable in terms of Wenger’s transfer plans, as Nordtveit was told earlier in the summer he would only be staying if the club failed to bring in another centre half after the transfer of Laurent Koscielny

The five-some are set to feature prominently in the Carling Cup campaign. However, Frimpong is in contention to make his Premier League debut at Anfield on Saturday. It’s not yet clear what part the new first-team players will play in the new 25 man rule, as they’re all under 21, and are eligible to count as over the limit.

Frimpong, Emmanuel-Thomas, Lansbury, Nordtveit and Eastmond are all poised to be allocated new squad numbers later this week.

Great news for the youngsters but bad news for our hopes of winning something this year.
We have one great CB in Vermeleane, and now 3 other CB Nord, Djourou, Kosci who can’t be relied apon.

How Wenger can ignore our GK and CB issues is beyond me.

i think something has changed in the transfer market…it’s like it has frozen up or something…there are way fewer transfers happening nowadays as compared to previous years. i think clubs are realising that it is hard to find players for cheap, so they are holding on tight to the ones they’ve already got. If wenger has made serious attempts to find players in defence but has been turned down or priced out, you can’t blame him. i’m disappointed at the lack of ambitious players in the world though…if i was a central defender and i knew that arsenal was looking to buy, i would be absolutely begging my club to let me go. too many players are happy with their small ponds.

By ‘can’t be relied upon’ he means that Kos and Nordveit are untested and the PL and Djourou has injury problems. Kos and Havard might turn out to be great, but they could also be flops.

Its not exactly the same as going shopping, is it? There are no shelves full of centre backs to choose from. You look, you find, you enquire and you either get quoted ridiculous prices or get politely told “not for sale”. Shame on you Arsene Wenger for not behaving more like a Barcelona employee……

if wenger is “well aware” of our GK issue, then why has he come out and said that he wont be buying one?

I mean from last season the only meaningful departure is Gallas, and we got Koscielny to cover him. I’d think Djourou is an upgrade from Sol and Nordtveit is honestly an upgrade from Silvestre, and we got 3rd last year so I’m not worried about Europa League… though I agree to win the title we need another (ideally left footed) CB and IDEALLY a quality keeper (though that’s probably not going to happen. Given would be nice though)

WHy is he a liar?????? Just becasue you got a transfare budget of 40 M does not mean you should spend 20M on a defender as Metershack! He is not worth 20M! We all know this.

Just becasue you got 40M in your transfare bugdet does not mean you should invest 25M on a gk like Hart when you got chesney coming up in 2 years time.

      Thats just bad buisness…

YOU know nothing about the transfare market xcept what you read in the sun. you have no cluve about the real asking prices for alot of players. However going by the papers, if they want 25M for spahic a realativley unknown defender you could only imagin the price lvl for more established players.

Id rather have Nordtveidt and Frimpong than pay 20M for Cahill anyday! Just as id rather have those two than to pay 30M for a player like Millner. They are both great players but not 20 or 30M players. And thats a fact.

No sane club has the funds to pay 20-30 M for players like that. Mind you not all clubs are sane…..

JET will play central striker in the C.C. I reckon. As it stands, he is the last man standing replacement for RvP/Bendtner (I’m…BATMAN!)/Chamakh as an out-and-out striker. He holds the ball up well and though he doesn’t seem the quickest, he’s at least as fast as Jay Simpson, but well larger with better touch.

Why do you say he’s not a striker, when wenger has only ever used him as either a CF or a RF, but always as a forward?

Why do people still debate what position JET is in? This isn’t the reserves anymore, he’s clearly a forward in the first team now, primarily a CF.

Any talk of moulding him into a “new vieira” or a “new Sol” just because he’s big & strong is pointless now.

Agreed… though Given on loan would be an attractive option. Not going to happen, but it’d be nice.

Also, Andrew, what’re your thought on Sakho to Arsenal rumors? Both with regards to its likelihood and its merits? Personally I think he’d be a perfect understudy to Vermaelen – tall, young, left-footed and French.

Wenger has previously stated that we need 5 CB so I still think we will buy one more defender. As Andrew said, I`m doubtfull Wenger will buy us a new goalkeeper even tho its badly needed, not primarily because our keepers lack badly in skills but because we need someone back there who can provide confidence and assert some controll over our back four..

JET’s flexibility will cost him a spot long term.

He seems to be more offensively played at present, but interestingly Steve BOuld says CB would be his best position. I agree, he is a beast of a lad but does need that little bit more time on the ball if you are going to be a top notch attacking mid or striker.

Very please Lansbury included. With the amount of injuries we have to the midfielders he will feature more than you think. And hopefully this will drive that cunt Denilson out of the club

It hasn’t cost Eboue, or Zanetti, or any number of talented players. I agree the defense – offense mix is a little extreme, but not impossible. Gallas was a striker, Ashley Cole, blah blah blah. Drogba was a basketball player. It may delay his “arrival” and the glory hunters and boo boys may want him out before he arrives. That’s not the same thing as flexibility.

Wilshere has played in 5 different positions the last 12 months (RW, LW, ST, AM, CM), didn’t stop him from getting selected for England though. All the people who say JET ‘needs to find a position’ in order to get games haven’t got a clue.

I don’t Frimpong will play at Merseyside. Wenger will probably, and should, go with either Eboue or Djourou for the holding role. What he could also do is to reward Vela for his great showing against Legia and put him up front with Chamack in a 4-4-2 and play Nasri and Eboue/Djourou in central midfield.

This must mean that Arsene’s transfer plans have been scuppered in finding another CB or DM. I predict that we might see Alex Song used more regularly as a back up CB with Frimpong coming in DM in those situations. I see Nordveit as back up to Bacary Sagna while Eboue is probably now a starter for RM going on pre-season form, with Walcott still an impact sub until he can raise his game consistently.

JET I look forward to as an impact sub while Bendtner is out.
I don’t suppose Lansbury and Eastmond will get many opportunities until we hit the usual injury nightmares, but at least they can be training hard to be ready for those chances.

If Fabianski gets any more chances to dirty arsenals sheets I think its going to be a bad season for the backline. I’m rootin for Almunia for now.

I think its great these guys are available to the team, I’m a little worried if they are going to be relied upon in the Prem though.

Not sure about a keeper, but I could see a CB. The one that really stands out as likely to me would be Sakho from PSG… Left footed and young (so would be a perfect understudy to Vermaelen), as well as tall and strong and a good marker, he’d fit our team like a glove. Plus he’s French, has been playing in Ligue 1 for awhile now, and comes from a club in slight financial trouble so would probably not be absurdly expensive, 12-15 mil at most (and thats probably overestimating, papers are talking about 9 mil)…perfect Wenger signing, and for a player who has a very bright future ahead of him, a relative bargain.

      Keepers not sure about though…

There are reports that we have agreed personal terms with Schwarzer which may be announced as early as tomorrow. I have also heard that another player will be coming to Emirates in the next couple of days, to my understanding, it’s a centreback. It’s between Spahic, Tasci, or Sakho.

I think Frimpong can definitely become a massive player for Arsenal, however his first start in the Prem potentially being Liverpool at Anfield is worrying (and Wilshere maybe). It’s hardly an ideal way to be brought in to the first team at 18, he’s guna be very nervous and a poor performance could set him back quite a bit. I’ve got a feeling Wenger will play Eboue DM

If Arsene worried that frimpong willfroze playing in Liverpool he can always play 2 DM (frimpong and Song) so until frimpong lost the nervous song would be able to cover him.

It’s good news to be honest as although it might point out Wenger’s lack of activity in the transfer market, we are going by our ethos and giving youngsters a chance. Who knows what will happen? I’m not saying the promoted players will turn out to be world class, but who guessed that Cesc Fabregas would be so good when he was just 18, so good that Wenger didn’t replace Vieira?

Nordtveit will probably be our fourth choice centre back that we desperately need and after three seasons on loan you’d think he’d be hungry. Highly impressive in pre-season too.

Frimpong and Eastmond will give us valuable back up to Song as Denilson seems more suited to a normal central midfield role. Frimpong especially seems deserving of a role.

Lansbury will in my opinion fill the void Ramsey left behind as cover for Diaby and Denilson. Hopefully he gets a few games and performs, and maybe get loaned to a Premier League club when Ramsey recovers.

And JET will give us more options up front as RvP and Bendtner are already unfit, and to be honest JET has looked more impressive than Walcott well deployed as our striker.

What’s wrong with more first team players?

Landbury will also be duking it out with Rosicknote/Denilson/Ramsey for a cm spot. All in all competition will sort out the best players, that or injuries *knock on wood*!

Eastmond came out of nowhere for me because he was a right back (or left…can’t remember) for the u-18’s and didn’t even feature that season at d-mid. I was blind-sided by that one.

Frimpong was much less of a surprise for me. It seemed that Coquelin was being credited slightly too much for the amazing dominance of that midfield and Frimpong’s contribution was being underestimated a bit. The boy’s tackles at that level were absolutely devastating, and he was a very young u-18 player. In fact I believe he might’ve even been eligible to play that level this season. He and Coquelin were both excellent that season. And big things seemed possible for both of them for me.

I severely hope this is some sort of sick joke Jay?

This is gross negliagence from Arsene. I have never ever said this but enough is enough- WENGER OUT!

The man really does not give a shit about providing us with the defensive foundation we need. I admire his vision but it is majorly flawed in this league. Im sure we’ll destroy plenty of teams this season with our attacking quality but when the shit hits the fan at Bolton or Stok on a wet November Wednesday evening once again our naivity at the back will be brutally exposed and we’ll suffer more humiliation.

So instead of buying a GK a CB and A DCM to give our creative talent like AA, Nasri, Cesc and co a basis to thrive we instead “promote” green, raw, unproven babies like Chesney, Nordveit, Djourou and Frimpong.

This is beyond a joke and every single one of us who plough money in to this team are being treated like absolute mugs.

I will be at Anfield at Sunday and could well witness the weakest Arsenal squad i have ever seen.

This isn’t good enough! Wenger out!

Just wonder what happened to the other 12 players that are not already omn loan and not in either photo? The only positive is that Arsenal will have no problem with the new 25 man squad rule where of minimum 8 players and players under the age of 21 do not need to be registered.Within these 25 man squad they are allocated squad numbers and this will be done on the first of September 2010.Having promoted 5 home grown players from reserve they could easily fill the places of 8 home grown players. But that would mean foreign players may not be included in the 25 man squad and could face playing for the reserves until January when the registration window opens.

      Just not true..
Including these 5 new promotion .. We have 31 first team players, 18 are home grown and 12 are U21.
Technically , we have 21 players (13 Non-home grown +6 over U21+ 2 U21) in our squad and the rest classified as just U21).

We still have space for at least 6 more players (4 Non-Home grown and 2 Home grown over U21).

We are in good shape , if Wenger WANTS to buy, the rule is no hinderance

Honestly, I’m getting sick of all the “well at least our players are English” bs. I don’t give a sh*t what nationality our players are, I want to win a damn trophy. I understand we need to comply with the new homegrown rule, but I’m really f-ing sick of these stupid comments. We are not the English national team, we are a club team. When we fail to sign the necesary players for a successful season, which is looking like it could very well be the case, I don’t want to hear people saying “Well at least the youngsters are English!” That’s crap, if you say that you’re crap, I am supporting Arsenal, not England. When England plays their friendlies, WC matches, tournaments I’ll support England, but I am here to support Arsenal. Sorry for those who haven’t been making these types of comments, but it’s just getting really ridiculous. I trust Wenger and it likely has come down to a situation where he’s exhausting all his options, but there just doesn’t seem to be an answer in the transfer market. He’s the kind of manager who isn’t going to just “settle” and make a move when he doesn’t believe the value for the player and asking price match up perfectly. Yes, he is stingy, we all know it, but almost every signing he has made lately has been at a great price. Obviously I wish he’d just splash some cash b/c a good GK and CB could add anywhere from 6-12 points at least, but it is what it is and we just have to keep supporting the club. Period.

Really starting to dislike our ‘supporters’ maybe if we did get relegated they would fuck off.On our cb im happy he kept havard,he is good enough to be fourth choice! hes 21, hes got every quality to be a good cb and if we dont make him part of it now he may never be. So we have 3 cbs who will be playing with regulatory and a good fourth choice to come in if needed! On the goal keeping situation however, thats another story

Does the initial post interpret as HV was potentially on his way out of the club, or merely that he wasn’t thought ready to integrate into the first team this season?

I think all the players in this list will have a role to play this season and it will be interesting watching their development and trying to predict who the next wave will be

You can do the same for Utd, easily. A near full strength barca is better than any other team on the planet anyway, of course we were always going to struggle with so many players out. It was the same the year before. We were missing a similar number of players, Utd were close enough to full strength, yet everyone was talking how they taught us a lesson when they knocked us out of the CL. They taught our reserves a lesson for the most part. We ALWAYS do a lot better at the start of the season when we have all our players fit. We beat them the year before last, and last season was a real freak result. It was as much of a freak as when we beat them in the FA Cup final a few years back after being thoroughly destroyed in open play. DIfference is that when we beat them, everyone called it lucky, when they beat us, not so much. Most people just say its cos we were naive. The ref didnt book their players like he booked ours (fletcher would have been off had the same rules been applied to him that were to song), rooney dived for the penalty, and diaby scored an unfortunate own goal. Yes we can blame ourselves a bit, but Utd deserved no credit for that victory. The double standards are truly incredible.

Excellent news!! This means we now already have a bigger first team squad than last year, meaning competition for the starting 11 will be stronger, add to that the fact that our squad will have younger, faster and fitter legs to line up alongside the experienced players we have such as RVP, Tommy Ros, TV, AA, Nasri, Cesc and Manu E, not to mention existing talent like Wilshere, Theo and Vela and then you add into the mix new blood like Kos and Chamakh it is starting to look like we have real strength in depth, which was pretty much the only thing we lacked last year and was the only real reason why we tailed away at the end of the season and didn’t romp the league and take the title! Am looking forward to AW getting us a top notch GK asap and think this is gonna be the season we do it. Let the Spuds scrap for a top 4 finish (ha ha as if again!) with the new citeh chavs and the hubcap kings and meanwhile old red nose and the russian ‘galacticos’ mob will be bricking themselves recognising that we will be the team to beat this year. We have spent a few long hard years since the ‘invincibles’ with no silverware to show but AW has done us proud in building a new squad that will shine for years to come while we have the joy of a beatiful brand spanking top of the range state of the art stadium which will allow us even more potential in the next 5 or 10 years. I am proud to be a gooner and cannot wait to see how we will rule the PL for years to come, all without needing the backing of some random foreigh billionaire. Kudos to you Mr. Wenger!!

Yet all the so called ‘experts’ and reknowned pundits had been screaming at us that we needed to go out there and purchase a ‘world class defensive midfielder’ if we were to stand any chance of competing.
Where were you when they were all proved so horribly wrong, did you show up and eat humble pie… nah!

Yeah i want the big players too ( defender and goalkeeper), but at present who we want to sign whether it is the money or commitment to the players club we are not getting, so lets focus on the match against liverpool, who is going to keep AL or Woz, defense center Kos and Ver, Midfield Frimpong and ????, thats wat we should be talking about, not the crap thats going on put the real deal.

Is it me or does it seem like we’re clearing out our reserves and either promoting or loaning all of the young players that have been hanging on the periphery the last few years? I think this is a great move. Let the next gen move up to stiffer competition (running riot over reserves because ours are packed with guys that have been there awhile isn’t productive) and bringing the others either into the first team or out on loan.

I still have faith in Wenger. He does it season after season, spend relitively little money in the transfer market and still manage to get the team performing.

Remember, we still have a great squad. To all those “fan’s”; – Your too busy concentrating on what we haven’t got rather than what we currently have at our disposal.

Wenger has brought in unknown players season after season and they have gone on to adapt and perform to a high standard immediately (Vermalaen anyone?) I expect we will see the same from Chamakh and Kos this season.

I love Arsenal the way we are, the way we play the game (best in the Prem!), the way we conduct our transfer business etc. OUR PHILOSPHY! To all those who want to bring in £40m “worldclass” (and overpaid) players and push the talented youngsters further down the pecking order, go and supportChelsea/ Man City…………alternatively play Champ Manager!

To the real supporters, like myself, lets get behind the team this season. Avoiding bad injuries at crucial times like last season, I think we will do well and challenge for the title as usual as well as some decent cup runs.

Remember, never, ever write of Mr Wenger!

Unlike the papers, I’ve never believed we were going to buy a keeper, which is OK with me just so long as Szczesny is given a chance. That kid is likely to improve with every game and by the end of the season will probably be better than Given, Schwarzer, Hart, Green and all the other overpriced oldies we’ve been linked with. Perhaps Liverpool would be too testing a start, but I’d like to see him against Blackburn and Blackpool and, if he does OK, he should keep the spot. Almunia will be fine as number 2. For me he’s no worse than Given, Schwarzer, etc. – and last season’s stats bear that out.

A central defender, though, is a must, and I really hope it happens soon so the back five can build up some understanding.

I find alot of these comments on here just plain silly…lol.

Frimpong starting at Defensive mid. —— He is no where ready †o play holding mid in a premier league game. He would get dominated in there.

We will finish in 6th.——– The only reasons we did not win the league last year (even with the bad keeping) was because van Persie and Bendtner got injured which left us without a striker able to play the target striker. We now added Chamahk and Vela is a year older.

2nd reason- Fabregas and Ramseys injuries at the end of the year. We lost that creativity in the center of the field which we now have Wilshere ready.

People also complain about the defence but the truth is Gallas was injured for a large part of the season so adding Koscielny is a step up regardless.

I do agree that a keeper and another center back are obviously additions needed but to say that we are now going to finish 6th is just stupid. On the face of it we have added players that are now ready for the prem league in Djurou, Vela, Wilshere and Gibbs (we played a bit of the year with 3rd choice Traore). We have added through transfers Kosielny and Chamahk. Song, Diaby and Fabregas are in their 2nd year in the 4-3-3 system. Nasri and walcott has had a full preseason this year. Only Man City have truly improved their squads this summer. Chelsea are getting older and older every year. Manchester United think Hernandez is a great signing …lol (Vela is the real deal Mexican striker). I dont see why we wouldnt be optomistic regardless of if we get another centerback or keeper.

      @ Shane – Fair analysis.
On frimpong, I agree he might not be ready for the responsibility of being our main anchor man, but if he were paired WITH song, I personally think that could work. It would certainly be an improvement on denilson’s form last season, but diaby seemed to be getting better with every game, so I would expect him to start the season as first choice in midfield.
On the creativity in the centre – you forgot to mention that nasri is starting to look like the real deal, and wenger is not so shy in putting him in the centre now, so that’s some additional creative CM cover. Im not convinced jack can do it every week for us in the PL currently, although I didnt see many of his games for bolton, so perhaps that would give a better indication.
Koscielny is still a bit of an unknown. If he manages to last the full season, maybe he could be considered a step up from gallas, but as for his overall quality, its unclear how he will do in the PL. I would feel more comfortable with a fourth CB of some experience. Personally I’d like to see us sign someone who would definitely start alongside vermaelen. It’s not clear who is better out of Kos and JD. If anything JD is more experienced, but has had his injury problems and didnt look fully fit in preseason, while Kos was a bit up and down, possibly due to his not being used to the arsenal system.

DAVI— Forgot to mention Nasri. In my opinion we really need a top class winger that fits the 4-3-3 system (eden hazard) and Nasri should be mostly a central player. I have explained the reasons why before but i really dont feel like typing it all right now but if you watch Barcelona, you need wingers to run a the full backs, link up well and provide goals and assists for the 4-3-3 attacking style to work properly.

On Frimpong….I dont believe Frimpong adds anything either way at this level yet so i would see no point in putting him out there. Even in the friendlies which were played at a slow pace, he rarely was able to close players down and put in a good tackle and as for playing along side Song, he doesnt add much going forward right now. If a holding mid was needed the only option to me is Denilson or Diaby if wenger feels he can do it. If we play against a weaker opponent, I feel Nasri and Fabregas with Diaby holding would be good but for the biggest games we need song.

As for Wilshere. I believe Wilshere should be our starting right winger. Yes even over Nasri. Jack has the ability to run at players, link up and will provide alot of assists and can finish. If injuries come along then he can fit in the inside midfield. The fact is injuries always happen so naming an exact starting line up is pointless but we now are capable of dealing with injuries with the quality depth we have.

Nasri really has stepped up in pre season and he was also showing his class in the national team yesterday. He seems to have gained tons of confidence and might have a major impact in the team this year. Wilshere is a little too young to play a major role imo and is not as mature as Ramsey was last season. I think that he still needs one more season.

    • August 12, 2010 at 3:48 pm
      Permalink

mlk—- We look at Arsenal players in a different light but Nasri actually was disappointing in the France game. Yes his link up play was good but that has always been good. The issue is can he create in the final 3rd enough to be that play maker role for us. In the France game, he created almost nothing.

On Wilshere. Wilshere is miles ahead of Ramsey at this stage in his career. I said that knowing that Ramsey is an awesome talent. Wilshere is ready to start on the right wing and will prove it this year. The slow development of Walcott is the reason why Wenger is so cautious with Wilshere and that annoys me. Walcott was simply not very developed as a footballer where as Wilshere is plenty better then that. Wilshere was ready last year. He was starting is the centermidfield of a 2 man center midfield last year for Bolton. Obviously he handled the physicality well enough. With Arsenal, the way we play, he is plenty ready now.

Kosc didn’t cost £10m. It was undisclosed but speculative to be £8.5m. Carvalho is an older player (about 32yrs) and prone to injury alot. Let’s be rest assured that AW will sign a CB. WE’ve got enough good players for the PL, they need time to get experience. Every club cannot be like citeh, but just watch as they will come crashing down with a big bang. Individual stars don’t make a good and effective team. To whingening supporters, what club will you prefer, L’pool, Manure, portsmouth or a well run Arsenal? Remember Leeds? Sanity and patience are valuable virtues to have. AW wants to win a trophy, just as we all want to but not by mortgaging the club.

Wenger is doing what is best for the club. I guarantee that we will sign at least one more player before the window shuts. And if we odn’t I’m still going to support the team as best I possibly can. Shane is right Nasri is not a winger. I really do rate him as a central midfield player though and in my estimation he is second only to Fabregas in that role along with Aaron Ramsey!! As for Denilson I still think he can do well this year. Really well in fact.

Nothing new… we need two new players you all know where but what is worring me is that while Song Diaby and Denilson are injured I’m afraid a little bit when I see Frimpong there. He was magnificent against Barnet but they nearly avoided relegation in league 2. In recent matches he wasn’t as good and we’re playing LIverpool on Sunday! If nobody from that trio Diaby Song Denilson aren’t available I wish Eastmond will play but he was injured too, Against Milan I guess Djourou played CM role. Frimpong can be good but he’s not yet.

Please read my post just a few sections up. On your exact point tho…not sure how this is our weakest squad of centerbacks ever tho? Last year the usual center back partnership was Vermaelen (who was great) paired with a back up because Gallas was often injured. I dont see how Koscielney will be a down grade. Also having Djurou instead of Sylvestre as back up can not be a downgrade. The jury is out on Nordveit but him and or Song (who is very good at centerback) is not that bad. Wenger has already said he is looking for another centerback aswell.

I am not saying we will win or wont win. I am saying people need to have some commonsense. Trophies are not easy to get now a days and when you work with a club that runs self sufficiently you have to build a team. People seem to think it is easy to compete with teams with unlimited budgets. People also seem to think you can just buy any player you want. Doesnt work like that. The fact is Wenger acknowledged the fact we need another centerback and a keeper so that should be enough. If he cant get players for the right price then we have to accept that and back our team.

Just wonder what happened to the other 12 players that are not already on loan and not in either photo? (Martinez, Shea, Hoyte, Cruise, Evina, Randall, Henderson, Deacon, Simpson, Barazite, Sunu, Murphy)

Obviously Barazite and Simpson look likely to go, so can u assume the rest are going out on loan?

I’m guessing the photo on the Reserve section is more like the youth team. I guess Shea, Cruise, Evina, Henderson, Deacon etc have been promoted and are all going to be regulars of the Reserve side this season?

Reading the Comments some Gunners need to feck off out team support

what if we get Relegated, what if

Man City had an Average attendance of 30,000 in 2 Division

Newcastle were great but us..you would see the true Gunners that day

I tell you what. After trying to prove that he can get by with out an additional cd and goalie,Wenger will most probably quit before he is fired ie if the gunners flounder and are out of the race for the title.
He is trying to prove the so called analysts and fans alike wrong by not addressing the problem area and the gunners can challeneg and win trophies.
It’s a long shot .Ask the bookies. The are invariably correct.

Frimpong, Afobe and Yennaris has been name in the England U19 Squad. Which is not bad seem like the light is finally turn on by the England management team.
The question now is if Frimpong has given up on playing for Ghana!

On a second thought I feel some of these fake supporters need to have a serious reflection on why they support Arsenal Football Club in the first place. Though winning is the main goal going into every season, (something the players, and everyone working for the club are well aware of!)
we also have to accept the fact that out of the 20 teams in the league only one can be crown champion. So what we haven’t won in the last five years, I am as disappointed as the Boss and the players, but I am also aware to the fact that within the last five years we’ve taken a different path (project Youth) to reach the top compared to our competitor.
Though it has taken years to see result of this “project” I have a feeling that we are finally reaching the final turn of the project and would start to see result soon.

Yes the obvious flaws are still there for everyone six feet under to see ( CB, GK,etc…) that in itself is another strength and reason we should be optimist, unlike our competitor we know the area we could improved on ( and we will improved them)…

I feel as fan, we need to get back to doing what we have control over (and could help the team) that is support our Club in TRIUMPH and DEFEAT and see where we end up come May….be optimist fellow gunners, this is the year when THE BOYS TURN INTO MEN

TRUE FANS SUPPORT WHAT MAY….AND FAKER MOAN AND WHINE….
