Arsenal Hand Martinez Professional Terms

Arsenal have taken up their option to extend Emilio Martínez’s contract for another two seasons. The Argentine goalkeeper has now turned professional having previously been on scholarship forms.

Martínez joined Arsenal from Independiente last summer but the player failed to win the work permit required to complete the switch. He remained in Argentina as part of a co-ownership agreement but in March Liam Brady recalled the stopper, allowing him to train with the Under 18’s. A second application for a permit was accepted in May and Emilio went straight into the Reserve team for pre-season.

The highly rated ‘keeper has featured for both the Reserves and Under 18’s this season and celebrated his new deal by saving a penalty in the 3-2 win over Norwich City at the weekend.

I take ALL transfer rumours with a pinch of salt and considering the attacking talent under 22 at the club, I don’t think there is anything in this but Nsue has a very big reputation and is touted to be a big star in the future (albeit the Llorente to Bojan’s Torres).

      not true just rumor
seen him play a quality striker but with Walcott, RVP, Chamak, B52 and Vela I think we have enough

I really like the look of Martinez. The coaching staff seem to really rate him and with Szczesny now with the first team, he’s the only real stand out prospect among our youth goalkeepers.

The Argentine media once referred to him as the best young goalkeeper in South America, so I reckon he’ll be fine :)

Andrew us said “but with Walcott, RVP, Chamak, B52 and Vela I think we have enough” Chamakh and Vela still have a lot to prove, the other 3 are nearly always injured!! I think Striker is a position we seriously need to look at.

Jlmmy, the “little fella” is wellington Silva, one of our brightest young prospects at striker. He can also play on the left wing. I’m so happy we have brought Pires back and I hope he can help coach the younger players. even if he doesn’t play I will be happy becasue he was such and intelligent player and he has so much to teach!! Someone already remarked on Martinez’s fingers. They are really crooked hahaha. they’re like mine!!

It’s high time to 4get child’s play and sign a good keeper at least 1 or 2 more defender and striker so that we can compet and win at least one trophy dis season.

I really like the look of martinez looks a calm, assured goalkeeper with a prescence.

He looks similar in style to szcensy maybe not as crazy and cocky like szensy.

Also Phil roberts looks a class striker a striker with electric pace who can actually go past players.

Guys watch when Bendtner comes back arsenal will score goals, chamakh good player but hes not a goal scorer arsenal will be more ruthless when bendtner, rvp come back
