Hoyte Joins Lincoln City On Loan

Gavin Hoyte has become the latest Arsenal youngster to leave the club on loan after he sealed a switch to League Two outfit Lincoln City this afternoon. The deal is initially for one month.

Hoyte, who has previously spent time with Watford and Brighton, joins new manager Steve Tilson in moving North after he was appointed manager last week. Gavin will wear the number 28 shirt at Sincil Bank and will be in contention to feature at the weekend if City can get register his paperwork with the Football League in time.

You can follow Gavin’s progress throughout the season in our regular Loanees updates.

    I think you’re right Andrew.
Lets just hope Szczesny’s contract gets sorted out soon.
I have got high hopes of Josh Rees. Can really see him progressing over the next season or so

Shame these kids haven’t done anything at school, so they don’t have anything to come back to after they realize they are nothing more than an average league two squad player.

At Barcelona’s academy, La Masia, school is number one ;) Yeah, I hate them too :)

Harsh Harry. But they have a lot of improvement ahead of them just to be in contention for a CC match. I agree that Sczezny has become more than a GK for many, but we need to let the lad make mistakes without turning on him. He seems to have the mental strenght to cope with a high profile position such as GK though, so that alone makes me believe that he’ll live up to the expectations directed at him. He has the physical and technical qualities already, but experience is still a vital ingredient, so while he continues to grow, we’ll see a couple of big blunders while he matures.

Great performance from the young Pole against Newcastle and I hope he’ll stay at the club for the rest of his career.

Chappers, agree with you. Sczezny needs time…its ridiculous to see highlights videos out after one arsenal match, and he like others dont need the hype but rather time…for those who are a bit older, might remember Chris Kiomwya (not sure spelling), anyway seem to remember hattrick in this first match against Coventy, not any good after that; my point being one match proves very little

…and with the margins a bit out of his luck, rushing out on attacker might have been of much worse consequence if defender not at the right place

Well said, it’s ludicrous how some people want Szczesny to be made no.1 after one match!

I don’t think they can grasp the difference between being talented and being ready. And for all his talent, Szczesny isn’t ready.

Where do you get that he is not ready? 2 games played, 2 clean sheets. The man is not even getting scored on and you say he is not ready. How will we be able to tell he is ready? Maybe he should have given up a few goals?

Errrrr, because he’s making mistakes you numpty. Stop making excuses for him, he will be in the team in a year or two when he’s ready.

Mistakes? He made one mistake which he had no choice but to come out. 2 games and 2 clean sheets. How hard is that to understand. So if the next game he plays he gets another clean sheet, will he be ready then? How about 10 clean sheets? As soon as he gets his chance at the starting spot, he will not loose it, i can guarantee that. You don’t have to be 30 years old to be good enough.

You are a fucking moron….fuck off. I will not respond to any of your comments if you stay away from mine. Cheers.

I said nothing about the length. They were on 3 or 4 year contracts before. I am talking about why we are leaving it so late to renew contract. If you can not read properly than fuck off.

Sorry for cussing people but this dude is irritating.

You say that, then 3 minutes later have replied to me AGAIN regarding Szczesny.

You’re only making a fool of yourself shane with your constant whining, the majority of fans are in agreement with me. Szczesny is not ready.

wrenny…You hadn’t answered my question before I responded. Also the majority of fans on here think Vela is not good enough and should be sold. Just because the majority thinks something does not mean it is right.

How am I the one constantly whining? I am the one that comes in to back our players when morons say they all are crap and need to be sold. If you think letting Wilshere’s contract run down to 18 months is a good thing than you are a confused man.

      cheers.

Shane I have said this before If Sczcensy doesnt sign a contract with us its because he has got a better offer elsewhere.

My point all along is why on earth were Norvaith and Sczcensy let run into the last years of their contracts when they should have been extended last year??? This is a recurring problem at Arsenal, I’m not syaing offer all our youths big long contracts but these two are two of the best prospects we have at the club and quite frankly if either were to leave whoever job to look after this should get a f**king seriously dressing down.

The work that is put into getting and training these players is huge for some idiot to drop the ball and not do his job properly. The fact they can leave for nothing (might be training fee) would encourage clubs to offer them more money and first team football why would they stay?????

Only two English players, Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs, have made it from the academy to the first team. Is that good or bad and how does it compare to the likes of Barcelona and Ajax who have reputable academies? Ofcourse Ajax is in a much weaker league!

For one, there are simply more quality young spanish talents than English talents (there are some good ones but usually not Arsenal style). That is not Wengers fault. For to, the youth system is completely different in spain. The big clubs get to have B teams that play professionally in the 2nd and 3rd divisions. This is also not Wengers fault.

The fact is Wenger had to implement a system first which takes time and now is producing the talents. You could easily have 7 or 8 english talents from our academy in the first team in the next 5 years. Wilshere,Walcott Gibbs, Afobe, JET, Lansbury, Aneke, Bartley, already in line. How many do you want?

bla bla this is a competitive world and you’ve got to handle the competition. If you can’t handle the competition move to mars where you’ll be alone. But you’ll probably get sick from loneliness. Even Wenger admires what Cruff did with Barcelona. Get real – jerk!

Not a bad analysis Shane but who’s blaming Wenger. Do an analysis without getting personal. Neither do I believe that Spain has naturally got more talented than England. Just before the present generation Spain were shit. It’s all about how you develop your players!

You have to have a certain amount of natural talent. Of course the training methods have something to do with it to. The whole system in spain is better than England. From having the B teams playing professionally to the national coaches preaching good football unlike in England the words I here most are “hard worker or hustle”. Sometimes I feel like people use those word in place of “lack of talent”. I actually believe Arsene Wenger is going to be behind any chance of future success with the English team. He is providing them true footballers. The Arsenal talents will bring more fluidity to the English game.

I believe that an English player of Wilshere’s ability adds to a team like Arsenal than would a foreigner of EQUAL ability. But the importance of foreign competition is that – if handled well – it raises the quality of the home market. The point being that with Wengers and Fabregas etc the English game as a whole will develop to a higher level. As Wenger himself noted Cruff’s work with Barcelona laid the groundwork for their golden generation. I can assure you all that prior to 2006 the Spainish football team wasn’t anything to talk about. To now claim that the Spanish are naturally talented invites intellectual laziness.

For one, I was not meaning that throughout history all spaniards are more talented. I am talking about the style of the football implemented in their country which produces a higher number of a certain kind of footballer. You understand now? We are talking from grass roots level. If you feel there is a time period of this change in development and want to give the credit to cruyff…i am not going to argue. My whole point is that the systems of each country combined with the natural talent is what gets you the higher number of quality players from what ever country.

Wilshere is a player with the natural talent that was not nurtured in the typical England youth setup because he came up the Arsenal way.
