Barazite Returns To Arsenal

Nacer Barazite will rejoin Arsenal on January 1st, after Vitesse Arnhem decided against buying the 20-year-old. The Eredivisie outfit had the option to extend the loan until the end of the season, but also turned down that option.

Barazite was told in the summer that he did not figure in Arsenal’s long term plans, and would be available for transfer. Liam Brady arranged a trial with Scottish Champions Rangers, and although he impressed, wages proved to be a stumbling block. On transfer deadline day, Benfica and Vitesse both made loan with a view to purchase offers, and Nacer chose the latter.

The Holland Under 21 international has made seven league appearances this season, mostly as a substitute. However, despite finding goals and assists in The KNVB Cup, the winger fell out of favour with new manager Albert Ferrer and has been in and out of the squad. Barazite spoke recently of his desire to stay in Arnhem, the place of his birth, but the club moved last night to sever links.

Vitesse had agreed on a season long loan, with the option to buy and review the loan in January and again next summer. A fee of around €3 million euros was, in principle, agreed.

Arsenal will now seek to find a new club for Nacer.

Hi Jamie, I was just wondering… What seems to be the problem with Nacer? Why doesnt Arsene want him? When I have seen glimpses of him he has looked good technically

Surely he is good enough for vitesse… I really liked him at arsenal… He always played well pre season.. I kno arsenal hav an abundance of talent in those areas but I think dey should loan him out 2 a championship side until de end of the season to c how he gets on..

Shame i’m still a big fan of his ability, hope he gets his career back on track. Far too good reserves, hope he finds a new club maybe in the Championship again? or maybe could even force his way onto the bench against Ipswich as we have alot of games in short space of time.

Stonroy – No idea. He seems to like Bartley a lot, but there are a lot of question marks over Miquel. He’s a great defender but makes lots of mistakes and is physically miles away from where he needs to be.

I really rated Nacer, but I admit I have hardly seen him play in the past year or so. I hope he get his career back on track because I think he could be a very good player – even if not for Arsenal then at a high level.

Kyle has gone on a season long loan and can’t be recalled. There is no clause in the contract to do that. It could only happen if all three parties agreed.

Jamie, where exactly has it all gone wrong with Nacer Barazite? To all intents and purposes, he has plenty of ability and a decent attitude, but is being shunted from pillar to post. This is really confusing.

I like Nacer a tons! I honestly think one full season playing for AFC partner club the MLS champs Colorado Rapids would be perfect for Nacer bags of talent he has and I believe would be good for him to get away from europe! Nacer what do you think? Best of Luck to him! Peace

His career would be destroyed if he went to MLS. He needs to either stay in England or find another top-flight European club; since Rangers and Benfica were interested in him not too long ago, I would not count him out just yet.

adebanjo couldn’t start at monaco, thierry couldn’t start at juventus.
nacer is only 20 and according to arsene’s policy, he’s still developing.

      Hahaha, love it!

Henry and Ade both started regularly at those clubs, and Henry was only there for half a season.

But even funnier than you getting your facts completely wrong, is that you think Vitesse Arnhem belong in the same bracket as Monaco and Juventus!

Grace us with more of your wisdom, it’s pure gold.

Nacer will be a very good player one day. I’m convinced of it. The thing about arsenal’s youth system is that we have the luxury of being able to demand instant success, and it’s clear that’s not happening for barazite. He clearly has vast amounts of technical ability, is a very good finisher and a team player, but still something is missing. I expect in a few years he will start to show his true potential on a consistent basis.
I can never understand why people are often so eager for fringe players and reserves to leave arsenal. They are harming no one by being at the club as long as their intent is still to play for arsenal and make it into the 1st team.

Nacer is probably a good player, but if u having a bad patch it is best to be in the team and not on the outside waiting to break in, Arsene cannot keep them because he has to scout for new talent to help with our growth has a team and to plan for our future. I have no doubt we will be winning trophies soon with this approach to the future.
All i can hope for in Nacer is that he can be loan to a championship side or premier league team for his continued growth and perhaps he will still stand a chance to get in the team.
