Arsenal Keep Watch On Miyaichi Junior

Arsenal are keeping an interested eye on the 15-year-old brother of Ryo Miyaichi, who is currently on trial with Feyenoord.

Miyaichi junior has arrived in Holland to begin a three week training stint after being recommended to both Arsène Wenger and the Academy Director at Feyenoord Stanley Brard.

The initial reports are that Arsenal regard Ryo’s brother as an exciting talent, but as they would not win a work permit for him directly, have decided to allow the Rotterdam club to have the first look.

The news comes in a week when Steve Rowley confirmed no decision will be made on Ryo future at Feyenoord until the end of the season. Technical Director Leo Beenhakker had previously been in touch seeking a possible extension of the loan, but the Gunners will hold fire on an answer until a second visa application.

More news on whether the Miyaichi boys will be reunited in expected in the coming weeks.

Sounds good.. If he is promising, sign him up..will help both settle having each other around. Plus we should be able to sign him without much trouble if we have his bro.. Any idea on his position Jamie, not that at that age its too permanent.

We are long shots to sign Romulu Lukaku, who is probably going to the highest bidder this summer, which definitely won’t be Arsenal. Man City, Chelsea, and Real Madrid have all openly expressed interest, and I highly doubt Wenger will be willing pay upwards of 15 million euros for him. Plus, we are already in the market for Hazard, and I would take him instead.

We do have a chance with his younger brother though, he plays defense though, and isn’t rated nearly as high, but still has some potential. We were linked with him over the summer once or twice.

I agree. I would rather have Hazard.
If little Lukaku is a promising right back, sign him up! We need someone coming through to keep Bacary on his toes.

Lets not Jizz in our pants yet, everybody tried to sign George Bests son and what was he? Dump…..people tried to sign Ryan Gigg’s brother and what was he? also dump.

Miayiachi looks a good player and I really do hope he is as good as he looks as he is a player who can do something that none of our players can really do and that is dribble past players at electric pace but lets put things into perspective…….He is playing against players who know nothing about him, in a league that is below the standard of the premier league lets see how he is playing in 10 games or even next season when people know what he is all about and if he can still do the business then brilliant……although it is hard to not get excited about the lad

Arsenal by far have the biggest problem with it, because they simply try and buy the best talent all around the world, so thus they have to apply for more visas because they sign players from Japan, Brazil, etc.

Most clubs sign players from local areas, or wait till they are older and sign them. Teams like Chelsea, Man City, aren’t forced with this problem because for one, they don’t invest heavily in youth, and two, they just spend more money to buy the player in 3 or 4 years instead.

Arsenal, I don’t think are singled out by any means in this process of getting visas, it just comes down to the fact that they apply for so many because of all the foreign talent they sign compared to other clubs.

Am I the only one who thinks we need to accept that RVP is only going to fit for a half a season every year? And Chamakh apparently only has the energy to play the other half. He clearly is one of those players that needs more minutes every week in order to maintain form. The way he has played lately, he can barely kick the ground. Bendtner? I genuinely doubt his ability will ever match his ego, he will not continue to accept a bench role for long (Who could blame him; he is at an age where he should be playing…), and he will never be a great wide player. Vela doesn’t look like an out-and-out striker, or at least, the boss certainly feel he is yet. The decision to choose West Brom over Bolton seems to have blown up in his and our collective faces. The sacking of Di Matteo has been a disaster for his progress. I really like the look of Afobe, but he is still two or three years away from being ready for the first team in my opinion…

The point I am trying to make is maybe we still need another forward, someone we have all been wanting for years: a poacher. Think about the way Robin has finished some of the chances/half-chances he has been given over the last couple of months, now think of the chances missed by the rest of the squad. I just think we need another clinical finisher in the box. Look at ManUre. They have several people to carry the load when it comes to finishing; if one is out of form, they still have two others to pick up the slack.

Obviously a new center half would be ideal, but I doubt the boss will see fit to buy one during the summer. I wouldn’t mind seeing Szczesny stay in goal going forward. Surely I am not the only one in love with the idea of signing Eden Hazard. After that, bring in another striker!

Yeah totally agree, We need a ultra clinical striker who will put the ball in the net 9 times out of 10.

The signing of Hernandez for Man Utd was such, the guy always gets his shots on target, has a natural eye for the goal.

We need our own version, or a better version who is stronger.

@Noah, that’s a nice point! Fans are demanding for defenders but I really think who we need is a ”killer-striker” like RVP,Eto…even if we dont buy a midfielder for de bench, our young guns, like coquin, frimpong, ramsey, miauchi, etc can handle it..but it’s important we dispose of some current midfielder like denilson, diaby, rosicky and co…we’ve got a lot of player dt will be happy to play passionately on de pitch, but we need to send some away….especially bendtner and rosicky+denilson/diaby

@ Noah, I agree that we need another forward. BUT, he has to be in the mould of RVP. I love how he can link play and pass the ball as well as finish. The passing of the forward is almost as important as his finishing to me when we are looking for a forward to help take the load off, and eventually replace RVP. Finishing is the most important thing, but I don’t want to see another striker who cannot pass like Bendtner or even Chamakh. The thing with Eduardo was that his passing was very much under-rated!!! He was a great little passer as well as a finisher. I hope we can eventually find another younger, less injury-ptone Robin Van Persie. That should be the long-term goal so far as our striking department goes, in my opinion.

I can’t think of anyone out there who plays the forward position the way Van Persie does. Maybe this guy Jon Miquel Toral Harper who we signed from Barcelona could do it. I know he is liested as a midfielder, but he plays a lot like RVP from the youtube clips I have seen of him. Maybe JET can finally get his act together and play up to his potential. He can certainly pass like RVP. I don’t know of anyone else out there who plays like RVP though. Do you Shane?? You know a bit more than I do about European football than I do.

I think with so many young players coming in we will cahnge our system to a fast counter attacking wing style. We do not have these players the past few years. Also, I feel that Walcott will finaly be playing in the Henri style centre forward. Imagine three fast attacking forwards, supported by the best passing midfielders. Oh…..

Shane> I know you are on this site often, surely you have been paying attention when Jamie has been talking up Coquelin? There is no way Wenger is buying a tackling midfielder. He hasn’t paid reasonable money for one since Gilberto. Remember that Song will be a CB eventually.

Milo> Shane is right: Class is important, not type. He doesn’t need to be a fox-in-the-box. Hell, I would love someone like Thierry to attack from deeper positions, link play, score AND set up goals, but those players aren’t just lying around.

I know about Coquelin and have been watching him play this year. I am a fan of his. The problem is he simply does not look close to ready in my opinion. He has been getting knocked off the ball a lot and tackling does not look up to par yet. I am sure he will come around but you can not always put all your hope in 1 youngster to make the difference. That will always leave you one step behind. Now I am not saying go spend 20 million on a tackling midfielder but I am sure Wenger can find a guy ready for the job.

I missed the part about Song becoming a centerback lol. Why do people keep saying this? Wenger once said Song could become a great centerback as well. Sense then Song has improved his mobility which Wenger has pointed out. That was Songs only weak point as a midfielder. The world best young defensive midfielder is not moving to center back plus we have 3 top class up and coming center backs in Vermaelen, Koscielny, and Djurou so it would be pointless.

Could be opening up space on the wing. Which, means we are now left with a spot to fill and I think we could go ahead and push for a natural winger, a pires or a ljungberg type. Hopeful thoughts.

No, you are wrong on every front… Except maybe on the Hazard front: I haven’t read anything about him recently, but I know Zidane and Real represent the biggest obstacle. I don’t think 20 million would prove to be too much money for the boss if – god forbid – we fail to win the league. He was willing to spend big on Arshavin, and we have the money. It wouldn’t be the most typical Arsenal signing, but I am not yet ready to rule us out. Not until he says he has signed somewhere else.

You are totally wrong on the other stuff though. Song started at centerhalf when he was younger, and a couple of years ago, Wenger suggested that could be moved back there in a couple of years, JUST LIKE HE SAID ABOUT THEO MOVING TO STRIKER. I like Song as a DM, really I do. But considering the fact that Song’s defensive capabilities will obviously always far out-strip his offensive abilities, I don’t think Wenger was off-base when he said that. Again, I would like to see him stay at DM.

As for Bob, that one is easy. (Get your facts right son!) He played more in the middle before we bought him and Wenger decided he wanted him out on the wing.

As for Championship Manager, no, I am American: I spent my youth wasting my time with different video/computer games than you English lads. Time we will never get back.

I like that you lads try though.

No need for the anti-american comments. I too live in a country where football isn’t the number 1 watched sport but there are many people here with a very good knowledge of the game and not just stats but in understanding tactics etc. Football is global and knowledge of Arsenal isn’t exclusive to locals. I said, sense he improved his mobility, that allowed him to stay in the defensive mid spot where he is and will be world class plus we have 3 quality center backs already.

Noah… Wenger said a year or 2 ago that Song would be a great centerback. Sense then he has said Song has improved his mobility so he will be a top class midfielder. Stop making up stuff that is obviously not going to happen and would make absolutely no sense what so ever.

vertonghen is a versatile CB and DM. hulk is the kind of striker we need who is fast, powerful and not afraid to shoot. hazard will be an awesome buy but he will be expensive so i am hoping ryo miyaichi would get a work visa and slowly integrate him to replace arshavin. with frimpong and vela back, we have our new invincibles! oh and keep cesc too!!!
