Arsenal Trial Servette Youngster Mbabu

Arsenal have added Servette youngster Kevin Mbabu to their squad for this weeks Ferroli Cup. The 16-year-old is the latest in a long line of trialists who will have the chance to earn a transfer at the prestigious Italian tournament.

Steve Gatting’s side last won the competition in 2008, when Sean McDermott saved and then scored a penalty in a shoot out against Juventus. The Gunners begin this years round of games on Thursday, against AC Milan, before further games with Aspire Academy and A.C. Sambonifacesce.

Mbabu is a highly rated defensive midfielder, who is equally at home at centre back or right back. He follows in the footsteps of Philippe Senderos, who joined Arsenal from Servette in 2003. Kevin is also a Swiss international, who scored on his debut against Belgium earlier this year.

He is expected to go straight into the lineup for the first game against AC Milan, along with new signings Kristoffer Olsson and Leander Siemann. However, Arsenal aren’t the only club interested. Mbabu enjoyed a trial with Manchester United recently, and they remain keen.

You can follow more build up to the Ferroli Cup tomorrow.

Sign him up ! We need more kids. Miquel and Hajrovic are obviously not good enough so we need to compensate for the two flops.
The jury is still out on Angha and Monteiro.
