Arsenal Set To Decide On Trialists

Arsenal are expected to make decisions in the coming days on whether to take up their interest in trialists Kevin Mbabu and Robert Mirosavić. The duo have both impressed Liam Brady in training stints with the club.

Mbabu has now returned to parent club Servette after joining Arsenal for last weeks Ferroli Cup in Italy, where he featured in every game. The 16-year-old was used at right back, and impressed in a new-look back four which included summer signing Leander Siemann.

Manchester United have also taken a look at Mbabu, but their interest waived shortly after. However, it is thought that he has since received an offer from United, but prefers Arsenal’s Academy, despite being a life long fan of the Red Devils.

The other player the club are interested in is Helsingborg forward Robert Mirosavić. He has undertaken two trials in North London, along with fellow countryman Kristoffer Olsson. Olsson has since been signed, but Arsenal are yet to make their move on Mirosavić.

Robert is a left footed winger who can also play up front. He attracted Arsenal’s interest after scoring 49 goals in 45 games for Helsingborg’s youth team, where he also claimed 24 assists. The stocky wide-man, who captains Sweden Under 16’s, has been compared to Andrey Arshavin, and the two had lunch together at London Colney last year.

The two deals will no doubt depend on Arsenal’s youth team budget, having already paid out on Serge Gnabry, Leander Siemann, Kristoffer Olsson and Jon Toral.

J, what was the level of Siemann and Olsson you were referring about? You were suggesting they were not good enough? I did some checking and Siemann was NOT a benchwarmer at Hertha, but a prized asset. Olsson was very obscure but I heard good things about him. What can you tell me about the new guys, who highly are they rated and are they hunted by others? And Gnabry, after that news of Eboue helping him, what level is he gonna fit in next year? And can you explain him as a playertype?

Siemann’s coach told Bild he was on bench a lot so was surprised. Those who say ‘he was an amazing asset’ are Hertha fans who probably never seen him play.

Gnabry is a winger who has been injured a lot, but he’s quick and can play centrally too.

I believe compensation is still being sorted, but the deal is more or less done.

Certainly it seems to be 90% complete if not 100% – either way, I expect he’ll join the summer!

Jamie – Interesting you say Brady has his own budget.. Is there one budget for Wenger, and one for him or does he approach Wenger in the same way AW might approach the board; “I want to buy x player, can I have some cash(!)?”

Nice touch from Arshavin as Jonathan said! Seems Brady is splashing out a little this summer: Is that not a little odd since you already said we had a great bunch of U16s? Obviously not a problem just that if there’s too much competition for players, some of the better ones might not get through… As was the case w Fran Merida for e.g. since he was kept out of the sides because of AW’s preference for Mark Randall.

You might want to move the like button closer to the number of likes though. Hard to see what’s going on!

I seriously doubt youth signing are all Brady and Wenger has no say in it. That just sounds ridiculous.

A big Dutch source is saying that Oguzhan Ozyakup is not pleased with the contract that Arsenal has offered him and that he will leave the club. Is this true and if so, is he a player that will be missed?

I think the answer is no.Dinamo’s board is greedy and they want too much money…
Plus we don’t need him we have plenty of talented players already…

I will like us to sign both players because we have been bringing up more midfielder and we need to bring up more defenders and strikers also i think sergi gnabry was the highest goal scorer in the nike cup in germany he scored almost 40 goals last session and it is because of his scoring ability that is why he was shifted to the wings because he usually play centrally so what happen to him jamie?

49 goals in 45 games. This guy is scoring goals for fun. It dosnt matter what level you play at. With that kind of stat it must bring you bags of confidence. We deffinately need goalscorers in our squad both 1st theam and youth
