Arsenal Prepare Miyaichi Permit Bid

Arsenal are putting the finishing touches to their work permit application for Ryo Miyaichi.

The 18-year-old has sufficiently impressed Arsène Wenger during pre-season, in which he has featured in every game. Wenger has now given club officials the green light to try and secure Miyaichi’s stay in North London, as he prepares to make his Emirates bow at this weekends Emirates Cup.

Arsenal are hopeful of receiving a decision by the middle of August. Should the application be rejected, Feyenoord Technical Director Martin van Geel has told Voetbal International he intends to fly to London to try and re-sign Ryo on loan.

The Gunners have had mixed success with recent work permit bids, but it’s hoped Miyaichi has done enough, despite his lack of international appearances, to be granted permission to join the Arsenal first-team ahead of the new season.

How is a special talent visa determined? Is it just a group of fat old men watching YouTube videos of a player and seeing how many keepy uppys he can do?

We should only do this if he’s actually going to play and not rot on the bench or the reserves. If that’s the case then maybe another loan spell is wise for him.

is it not true that he can not play in the emirates cup, he would need the permit to play in it, first team friendlies played in england are deemed work, reserve friendlies are different as they are seen as training, that is why he could play in those last summer and why galindo can play in them now.

I am certainly looking forward to watching him take to the Ashburton Grove pitch for the first time. Might just liven up the crowd a little.

If he gets a permit then I reckon he could shine during the second half of the season.

Fingers crossed. Not the end of the world if he doesn’t get it though, plenty more gears to go up and learn.

    Cardiff Fan In Peace,

This kid has fantastic potential, he reminds me of a young CR7. If he gets a work permit, I hope your gaffer can loan him to us. Watched every single Feyenoord match this season and he was mostly the standout player. He was electrifying but needs to bulk up.

On the release of JET, I have to say it was a great business. Having been to every single Cardiff match, I can say that JET was mostly average and lazy. Some times he would have a moment of genius but mostly he would sulk.
He lacks pace, work rate, crossing ability and has poor concentration.

JET would never have made it to Arsenal IMO, he heavily relied on his physicality which was not very effective in the Championship.

BTW Jamie, fantastic blog and I have been reading your ITV and Talksport pieces which are real informative. Keep up the excellent work.

Do we know what type of visa he’s applying for? I think the one he had rejected last season was a ‘Youth Mobility Scheme’ which lasts for 2 years.

” Mixed success with recent work permit bids” are you joking, they always get rejected ask Wellington, Botelho, Galindo, it’s always been the same with Arsenal even going back to Ronaldinhio and Christiano Ronaldo. We must have a team of apes submitting permit requests. Don’t see Man Ure, Chelski, Man Citeh going through this nonsense

special talent visas have nothing to do with talent but the country you play in,number of selection .so you could be a donkey at football and play for brazil and still get a special talent visas.

A special talent visa is not a piece of paper submitted to European Authorities it is a rolled up wad of notes to the person who signs them off at UEFA. This is why no-one else has any trouble, think about it if we just paid up we wouldn’t have to go through this palava. The reason its only one a year is so that its not suspicious.

It’s a shame if he doesn’t come I’m sure he would thrive with the fans right behind him. Looking forward to seeing Afobe in an Arsenal shirt with the first team though, looks a talent.

you raise a very good and fair point, but Ryo is Miles better than most of the reserves, English or otherwise. He is one of the few who, no matter what team he’s playing for, he deserves a chance to fulfill his potential. Both him and Gabriel Obertan (if he can gain some common intelligence, smh), along with Wilshere, and McEachran are the only players i see around who i can say for sure, will be the superstars of the league in 10 years

The league, and Arsenal fans could do with a bit of spark tho, i hope he gets a permit.

wow, you are comparing Ryo, who is a winger, a position where arsenal is short with Lansbury, who is a cm a position where we have wilshere, ramsey, frimpong, nasri (assuming he stays), song, rosicky and dare i say coquelin, and where some arguably more talented crop is emerging like Aneke, Toral, Gnarby, ozzy .
Its more about their positions rather than there passports. Frimpong, wilshere, afobe and henderson are being given there chances its there for all to see.
Though i too want Lansbury in around this team, atleast he deserves a chance. But what if he refuses to be squad member, maybe we should blame wenger for this too

Why cant everyone come on here and support our club? We have just over 2 weeks till the business really starts, we need fans, supporters, players, management and board all pulling together and getting behind the team. That means the players that we have left regardless of their DNA or salary aspirations. When it gets to August 13th we need to put all that aside, as fans or supporters of the club we need to get our act in order now, so that we can help to settle our squad in preperation for the big kick off. If some players are to leave even after August 13th but before September 1st so be it. We have 5 matches before the window closes and we must all help to get us 5 wins.

Come 1st September will it really matter who is playing for us? after all what is important is Arsenal Football Club not individuals.

I think he deserves a chance based on the fact that he went to feyenoord who were struggling even to score let alone win a game and he helped revitalise their side, inspiring more experienced players and getting the fans back on side, that’s exactly the sort of player that deserves a chance and not certain others.I think we lacked a certain amount of direct players last year and he’d be a good alternative when we’re in desperate need of a player stretching a game and making space for others, something theo Walcott did very well at times last season, infact I think he takes WAY too much stick on here, the guys the future. Ps on another note we need to sell nasri regardless of whether wenger thinks he’s irreplaceable,he ain’t gonna sign a new contract and I’d much rather try and offload him abroad and get a bit of money back rather than wait till next year and see him hop over to man u/shitty or Chelsea for zilch, makes no sense! We could surely replace with a mata/Honda/krasic,apparently affelays available cheap from barca, ideal wenger signing surely?!

Well said feeno, people should remember the phrase “engage brain before opening mouth” or hitting the keys!
Whatever we read in blogs and newspapers is rumour and whilst usually a little truth also an awful lot of BS. The Sun says that Samba has asked to be let go to us and he’s made a statement today saying what they have reported is all lies. Also special talent visas are issued by the home office and not the FA or premier league. Yes both Song and Denilson got them because both were rated as special at the time. In fact Denilson started very well and faded in last couple of seasons. The opposite is true with Song, he had a couple of iffy seasons and has now turned out to be one of the best DMs in the league.
    Keep the faith. . .

first of all, djourou and koscielny didnt start last season as first choice. injury to vermaelen and squillaci’s failure caused them to step up and i believe they did well. now vermaelen is fit and if bartley is ready for first team i dont think wenger will spend on any defender.
second, i dont believe arsenal will spend a big fee for another homesick spanish. nice to hear from valencia today that we have not made any offer. good! we don’t need another seniorita crying to go back home. no thanx!

Does silva looks homesick to you? It all depends how the team is doing and they will want a move away if you are obvious world class but not winning anything. Mata is one of the best and will make our team much much stronger. I hope he comes to us along with a few others who is clearly world class.

Walcott is world class in 5-20 min at most… he is most of the time average. We need consistency through out the game and Mata is that guy who can do so. We really need consistency and world class players or very close to it. I saw Kagawa from Dortmund and he looks class. Looks a little bit like Rosicky but a lot younger. If we can’t get Goetse then go for Kagawa.

there is no doubt mata is a great talent but before you do any business you have to conduct a risk assessment and you will find that spanish players dont settle abroad for too long. or maybe the board is taking out insurance to cover the loss if he decided to leave us, i dont know.
my point is, this is not the time of taking such risk. we can spend money on lukas podoski. not as skilfull but very consistent and experience, and can play anywhere in attack.

City are still unproven in europe. Sure they took a 3rd place this season but its only now we are seeing what they can do. Lets see whats gonna happen for the rest of the season.

Then lets see how long Mata will stay and do for us before saying he will only want a move away. I’m sure he’s gonna make us win some games and maybe some trophies. if he then wants a move away we can surely ask for a price worth more than what we buy him for. Is is better to keep players that is not good enough but wants to stay? Like Arshavin. His best years are gone already. Of course some players want to go away after a while but that doesn’t mean they wont make our team stronger for a couple of years. Podolski is a good option but he maybe he doesn’t want to come? Maybe he is more homesick than you think he is cus he stayed in Bundesliga and Germany, while he was chased by some big clubs? Maybe even Arsenal?

a bit off topic but its time these players admit they have good at arsenal.
now they cannot agree deals with their new clubs because their salaries are too high. bendtner and eboue need to accept whatever their new clubs are offering and f**k off!
cesc will be smart to stay as arsenal is prepared to give him a payrise. while barca can’t afford his fee first of all and he has to take a paycut. this shows all this will end in tears.
plus, in england football fans are patient with players. while in europe 2 bad games you are off to the B team. he had a bad season, we are ready to forgive him but in spain it wont be the case.
surely he should know by now that if barca really want him they will pay anything we are asking for.

We have some but needs a few more. City and tottenham are quite a team to take the 4th place. I believe pool to have become a much stronger team than last season, city too. Which make it 5 teams for 4 places and if you don’t recognise this we will drop cus we are not stronger than last year if we don’t buy players. So far Gervinho has come and Vermaelen is back but don expect it will be an easy task. Then you have to ask yourself what we need to do to win the league and not only secure a 4th place. It’s very obvious that new signings must come in. I bet it will come 3-4 more players.

Haha no I’m not still falling for the media hype that we’re going to drop out the top 4, I didn’t say that did I. I want us to win the league surprisingly enough and was asking your opinion on who you think we should sign to improve on 4th place.
No trophies in 6 years speaks for itself, if your ambition is for us to finish 4th every season then your argument is jusitfied, but if not how would merely cutting the deadwood improve the team? Ambition in the transfer market needs to match the ambition of our best players otherwise they will become disillusioned and want to leave. You say Fabregas/Nasri are still here but surely you don’t believe they actually want to stay. Their silence speaks volumes

obviously arsenal is still a force thats why we make more headlines even than the current champion. arsene still wants to win things but sometimes stubborness stands in his way. last season’s experience really humbled him that he decided to change things.
he’s fighting to keep our best players, getting rid of bad players then adding players with quality which means he wants to win the league.
we could have dropped out of top 4 if we hd gone for parker, barton, downing, kevin doyle and surely nasri and cesc would have left us already. they are still here because arsene convinced them he’s replacing deadwoods with diamonds.

Yeah the article says ‘Arsenal will sign Joel Campbell as long as they stump up the final £29.99 but if man city enquire before he touches down in London then the contracts null and void as they’re his childhood club that he’s supported since his dad took him to Maine road to watch them in the old 2nd division’ also it states that Valencia are willing to do a deal as long as arsene stops turning up at their door asking if he can pay for him by debit card and get cash back as well. Hope that helps in some way,my Spanish is a bit rusty

Sam, with all due respect, you refer to media hype then post that we have signed Campbell. We have not, his agent has just denied it. We have also not made another bid for Jags it’s just the press speculating that we we might and the rumours about Mata are just that, rumours. There has been no contact with Valencia. And, off topic the news that Bendtner is in Portugal to sign for Sporting has been catagorically denied as rubbish by the Sporting president.
Don’t believe anything until it’s anounced by the real Arsenal site.

well you can see for yourself that the boy agreed to join arsenal, now the agent is playing tricks before papers are signed.
i dont care about bendtner and all other deadwoods that cost us last season. time they come to their senses and drop their big wages, i am sure sporting wont be able to pay half his current salaries

Looks like diabys out for another 10 weeks,he’ll never win the ballon d’or at this rate…we’ve gone from buying no one to on the verge of signing one of spains brightest prospects juan mata,a real defender in phil jagielka and not a wenger “he passes the ball so well and has great technique for a centre back” plus of course a couple more young signings as well as saying everyone else stays, all this just before our emirates cup tournament that hasn’t anywhere near sold out..all a ploy to sell tickets?Media hype started from an ‘arsenal insider’?I suspect these deals might ‘fall through’ come Monday and we’ll re sign sol Campbell and alex hleb..then it leaves wenger room to say “I planned to sign Gary cahill on a free in 2012 when his contract ends”
