Arsenal Win Miyaichi Work Permit

Ryo Miyaichi is now free to begin his Arsenal career.

The 18-year-old was in London this afternoon as the club lodged an application for a special talent work permit, needed for him to be registered as a first-team player. Faced with overwhelming evidence from Arsène Wenger and members from the Japanese FA, the deciding panel accepted Ryo is an exceptional case and granted the permit with immediate effect.

Miyaichi will now go straight into Arsenal’s first-team squad for the new season. The club hope the paperwork will be completed in time for Ryo to be in contention for this weekends Premier League opener against Newcastle United.

Now that’s great news. Our attack seems sorted for this season. Even if we lose either of cesc/nasri, we have enough players to fill in.
Now for miquel to impress/ wenger buys a cb, and we’re good enough to be champs.

We’ve always lacked proper wingers with pace. Nasri, Rosicky, Eboue, Ashavin and Theo are not natural wingers.

Now we’ll have AOC, Ryo and Gervinho to pick from. Afobe can also play there.

We are also collecting a lot of English players now, meaning we are having players willing to work hard for the club.

Think you will find that if nasri leaves his replacement on the left wing will be gervinho. if cesc leaves we will play ramsey there. chamberlain and miyaichi are 5th and 6th choice for the flanks with an initial spend of around 7.2 million for me that is spot on.

What would you do so different then. Fab wants to leave but Wenger is holding out as much as possible while Nasri wants to double his money – would you pay 180k plus per week for him ? In the meantime Wenger is still signing up some of the best young talent available. Do you not think he knows he needs a CB, who would you sign other than a played Wenger has already identified. I really struggle with the moaners i.e. Arsenal sign a real talent and the only thing you manage to do is complain.

Mate, he’s more skillful and talented than ryan giggs. Giggs’ strengths are his intelligent play/movement and consistent passing. He has become more creative with age, but he was never an amazingly skillful player like Ryo could be. I’m not putting Giggs down, he is quality, but the perception of these players is completely over-the-top. Not every good player is a skillful dribbler. Rooney is another example, a very good player as well, better than giggs, but he’s not a great dribbler. Every time he is 1-on-1 with the last defender (so long as he is reasonably good) he loses the ball.
If you want to compare him with a Utd player, pick nani or park – they are good dribblers.

Davi mate, i found these bits hilarious, you have to be in your early 20`s or less because its obvious you haven`t seen giggs at his prime, what a crazy dribbler. Take a look at youtube for footage of him playing in the wings. :)

Ok, so why did it suddenly stop when he turned 23? I haven#t seen him show exceptional close control unless you count the poorly defended run against us in the FA Cup.
Could it be that the quality of the opposition improved?
He’s a quality player, but he’s not up there in terms of dribbling ability imo.

It didnt stop at 23. Your talking a load of tosh. Also United are one of the few teams who consistantly change the way they play. I still remember giggs being just as good up until 2004 atleast. Once he lost his pace, he reinvented his game. Not all players keep their speed as they get older.

i like this squad. I think we are sorted for wingers now. money can be spent in better positions. no need for mata. i think id even consider selling arshavin if we get the big bids ppl speak of. gervinho, walcott, AOC and miyaichi are the kind of wingers we have missed since overmars.

sell fab, sell nasri, sell (for the big bid) arshavin.

sign joel campbell, sell chamakh and bendtner and 1 more striker

      sell almunia,

      buy cahill + mertesacker

      sign barton

but my biggest bit. we are now set to play different games. we have box to box mids in ramsey, wilshere and diaby. so if we need to go 442 or counter we can

You want to sell 2 of our best performers last year, 2 quality young midfielders who rarely step out of line and replace them with Joey Barton, a mediocre player who has had numerous run ins with the law nad is currently thowing his toys out of the pram. Are you serious?

You’re also classing Chamberlain and Miyaichi as ready for the first team this year and saying that we now don’t need Mata? This is crazy talk, one has played his football at league 1, the other has had one year in the Eredivisie, neither are ready to play much football for a team trying to compete for top European honours.

They have potential yes, but come on people, comparing Miyaichi to Giggs and claiming that both will be getting any real time on the pitch this year is foolish.

Great news, I hope he continues to develop and adds something to our attack this season. Agreed on the usual suspects who need to be shipped out but the fact that most are still here (especially Almunia and Eboue) shows just how ridiculous the policy of paying fortunes to donkeys was. They will simply leach off the wage bill as no one will sign them on these wages.

Would also like to raise the conundrum of Rosicky. I have heard of players becoming less physically capable, losing their spark. But never one who lost his mental abilities. Rosicky used to be the little maestro in Germany and for the national team. Now he can’t seem to spot a pass, take a shot or do much of anything but run down blind alleys and lose possession. It’s not like he’s not trying, it’s all very very strange. Thoughts?

    Reply
    • August 10, 2011 at 4:06 am

The case for Rosicky is that he spent so much time injured and didn’t really got the playing time to recover his playing rhythm after that. He’s not of the many Arsenal players that spend some time injured, then go straight back into the starting lineup. So he’s always behind in phisical terms. I also think he took a big mental hit being so much time out of combat. Add to that the natural decline expected as the years pass by, and I don’t think he can be that player anymore.

  • August 9, 2011 at 7:00 pm

This helps for an exciting carling cup squad. I want to see more players stay around the club and learn the Arsenal way (especially attackers) rather then go out on loan.

Still of course see the same morons shouting for a expensive center back when all we need is a better 4th choice one. Spend that money on something else. Oh well, what can you do…..

Shane, i think the reason people are shouting for a top centre back is because there is every chance that Vermaelen could be our left back. Gibbs and Traore are both injury proned and now that Traore is playing for Senegal we could well be without him in Jan/Feb. We definitely need either 2 CB’s or 1 CB and 1 LB either way 1 CB or the LB needs to be top notch. Vertonghen would be the answer can play both positions and DM. But at £6m Mertesacker is a must. Also i hear a deal could be on the cards for Enrique and Barton with Traore joining the french revolution at Newcastle. I know you will want a source, the source is a shareholder.

    • August 10, 2011 at 5:16 am
      Permalink

Well this was certainly a post. www, that all sounds like a lie. But hey, it came from a shareholder so it must be true. For the record I’m a shareholder in my local club, Port Vale, I’m here to tell you that we’re signing Messi for 3 packets of fags and a (broken) windscreen wiper motor.

Barton is an alright midfielder but nothing more, he’s also not what you’d call an “arsenal” type player so I don’t see Wenger putting him on the wage bill. Some might say he adds a combative approach that Arsenal lack, but Milo has already pointed out why Song can do that and there’s a difference between combative and needlessly agressive.

  • August 9, 2011 at 7:03 pm
    Permalink

Jules is right. People don’t seem to understand that with Man City out there, they can offer way more in wages then we can. Nasri wanting to go is not Wengers fault. All managers would have the same issue. Now if he does not sell him and loses him for free, I would be a little thrown off.

@sam ….Why did you need to give credit to David Dein? It was the manager Weger and Japanese FA which gave overwhelming evidence in the FA hearing to grant his work permit.
Dude everything sweet comes with hard work and sweat for Arsenal as FA never back up Wenger as they clearly hated Frenchie revolution.

But now Wenger due to the 6+5 FA rules implementing in the near future start to pile up as well to add quality players in the rank(regardless of youth or inexperienced – talented players pick up fast and mature early) ….. I presume Wenger is still looking for another English central defender of phil jagielka and striker Joel Campbell.

I am positive Arsenal season will be good but due to dark force do expect a 2rd place BPL finish.

Oh I still have doubts that Gibbs (injuy prone) and Troare are ready for most matches. Hope I am proven wrong but wish Wenger can buy an experienced Left back.

If you seen the AFC official site – Troare nows pledge his national duty to Senegal. He was called up for national duty and my concern was next year Jan-Feb 2012 AOC so what can Wenger believed Gibbs defensive liabilty and injury prone can provide defensive stability to the backline. Yes I like his offensive type but unless Wenger starts to tell his midfielders and wide poaches to track back and share their defensive duties then you can be sure we get caught in the high line defending.

I still think we need Mata. Gervinho to replace nasri is fine, but it’s exactly that, a replacement. We need additions, not replacements, because when the time of the season comes where half the team is out through injury we need strength in numbers. Mata provides quality and experience and ryo and AOC provide excellent backup.

Anyway I am not slanting Gibbs or the backline but to be honest even if we do get phil jagielka, I personally don’t believed he can single handely solve the back line defending issues. Yes he adds better options ans more stability than the joke Squallichi….I hate lazy arguement that claimed Arsene must buy this,…..this…that….that. Seriously you so naive to believed Cahill can resolved our problems….We are moving in the right direction to buy more attacking options and it can be said that offense wins matches whereas defense kept your score nil.

Well my reasoning and honest view, Wenger got to sort out and the board need to invest and hire the best defensive coach to teach this aspects otherwise we would still see goals leak every season. Facts

Well said. Have thought so for long time now. It’s a team effort to defend and clearly some players don’t give a shit about that. Do you see a lot of walking in barca when they tried to defend? In fact do you see many defending teams walking around and not chasing down players? Wingers needs to learn to defend in Arsenal.

I don’t get this obsession with signing Cahill, he’s not exactly the defensive lynch-pin that we need. It seems odd to want to spend £16 million or so on Cahill when Mertesacker would be available for half that, is a similar age and has a wealth of international experience.

Neither are blessed with an abundance of pace and Mertesacker is better in the air.

As for signing Barton, that would be a disaster. He’s mediocre and likely to cause some kind of trouble. Signing Barton and Cahill both sound like people looking for “British grit”, premier league experience is nice but if a better player is available for cheaper why not take it?

Jom – I dont care about the number on Campbell’s back, its how many goals he is going to get i am concerned about. Obviously i would much prefer we give the No.9 to Benzema.

I dont know why everyone thinks Barton will be so much trouble? Serving time and sorting out a few people can all be part of growing up. Just ask Tony Adams and Paul Davis (and Glenn Cockerill if he can answer!!) Barton is certainly no clown and will be far better than Song and Frimpong will be for us at the end of January and February, when they are both at the ACN. Along with Chamakh, Gervinho, Traore, Eboue and possibly Aneke.

As for the great CB debate, my first choice is Mertesacker, then Vertonghen, then Samba, then Cahill. I dont care which 2 of the 4 we get as long as we dont see Squillaci play for Arsenal ever again.

You’re right. We could easily weaken our squad massively by selling good players cheap and replacing them with crap. Good call…

I really hope we don’t get Barton…He’s a clown. Song is learning and in pre-season he looked damn combative, and that was only pre-season. Song has kept his mouth shut and goes about his business pretty quietly. i don’t know what has happened to him regarding his national team and I don’t really care. When at Arsenal, he, from what I have gathered has behaved examplary and he is more than adequate when it ocmes to the grit side of the game of football. He pushes,he shoves, he hacks and harries…he talks too, from what I’ve seen…He also picks up cautions if you really want that… I don’t know what else there is to do so far as showing grit is concerned…

well blanc has come out & said nasri is in talks with us to switch clubs let him go,wenger would be an idiot to keep a player against his wish but sell him to inter or Ac milan, let him mope there time we taught these wantaways a good lesson.but keep fabregas we need him & he isnt as hlf bad as nasri, one good season & he thinks he’s above the team, but first he needs to sit down with adybeyor,hleb,flamini..

No it’s not Nasris fault. The club is stupid to let the contract go down to 1 year before offering him a new. They wanted to save money or something.. but now we are losing the core of the team. Nasri felt that Arsenal is not spending enough money on players and he is right. Look at the team now. Its almost like 3-4 years ago when Wenger said the team will improve and conquer europe. We have lost quality and experience every year and its almost like we are in square one again. Two steps up and one step down.

And Nasri can do whatever he wants to he is a nice guy who gave it all in the Arsenal shirt. Now we just needs to replace him.

I think it’s funny when people say we NEED Mata. I mean, half of them didn’t even knew the guy until like 3 weeks ago. Most probably didn’t saw 10 games of him to form a honest opinion about the player, and this it’s not stopping then to throw his name around like some kind of savior.
Much like the CBs, whoever you name. It’s not that Arsenal don’t need at least one (Squilacci really can’t help himself), but all guys being talked about are the same one hammered day in day out by the tabloids. It’s like people can’t think by themselves. As soon as some player are “linked” with Arsenal they became a “must have”. Seriously guys, Joey Barton? Does anyone else represent more all those things the team, the manager, the fans, outright condemn (the mindless tackles, violent behaviour on and off the field, etc.)?
Think what you want about Wenger, about the board, the players. But, for christ’s sake, think for yourselves! (Excuse me for any errors. Still learning.)

LMAO!!!!!! Some of these comments come straight out of a comic book. Listen Im happy we got ryo a permit at least he can get cultured the arsenal way. Im on the other had amazed by some of these comments. In the same breath as giggs? i’ll let that fly over my head. I watched him against Hangzhou and malaysia…. honestly he couldn’t even beat their defenders one on one. There are a LOT of things and i mean a LOT that he needs to improve on but he is by no means to be considered a signing and that is the issue i would have with wenger if he concludes our foray into the market by presuming this a catch. We need a bonafide solid signing at forward, a solid back up to RVP and another at Def. Mid. Period. If we are keeping Cesc and Nasri dat is. Honestly he is not WORTHY of the first team and should start from the bench on the reserves team and fight his way to the top. Im not being harsh im just saying. The boy needs work. He has the raw talent but he needs to refine his team play, interlinking well, running without the ball and timing those runs effectively. Strength, and more move than just those leg overs. that routine is becoming rather drab and predictable but his potential and rather considerable technique would see him grow if he keeps his nose to the ground. However he is not the signing we need and should not be looked at as a significant improvement to the first team.

Your comments are hard to believe, considering he was a revelation in Dutch Eredivisie last year.

This is off topic…. but what are your thoughts about Nasri. Keep him and watch him go for free next year, Sell him and look for a replacement. I actually im torn. (Cesc stays put without a doubt).

That is an easy one. Sell him about buy someone else. If he does not sign, there is nothing else you can do. I hope we don’t get Mata as I am not a huge fan but there are a ton of players out there.

Greece & Denmark won Euro cup out of the blue, Iraq won Asia cup in the midst of war. England hasn’t been in semifinal for ages despite expensive managers n some great footballers. It hurts when someone talk trash and not giving Arsenal a chance despite we’re so close, despite competing against 2 sugar daddy clubs and an unprofitable debt-ridden policy club (well at least starting to show some brake now). Good luck Ryo, good luck Arsenal. From one fan that continue believing in the midst of poisonous nay sayers.

There’s a reason why Cahill is £17m and Mertesacker is 6. Mertesacker is shite. Yes he’s tall and thus good in the air but he’s slow as fook and has the turning circle of an elephant (both of which would be tragic with our high line). Plus he’s extraordinarily prone to errors. I’ve seen him make heaps and heaps for Bremen.
