After wins for the Under 16′s and Under 18′s, coupled with first-team debuts for Nico Yennaris and Danny Boateng in the Carling Cup, it’s proved to be a good week for Arsenal F.C and their youngsters.
It’s also been a fruitful one for those currently plying their trade away from the club. Nicklas Bendtner scored for Sunderland at the weekend, and this evening Joel Campbell and Pedro Botelho were also on the score sheet, for Lorient and Rayo Vallecano respectively.
Campbell has begun honing his game after a difficult start to life in France, and came off the bench tonight to score and win a penalty in a 2-1 win over Montpellier. You can view the video here.
Elsewhere, Botelho continued his good form with a strike in the 2-0 win against money bags Málaga. That video is here.

Great time for you guys, wish you a great successful loan spell.
Good one for us……but jamie get us updates from other players…..GOONERS TILL I DIE
I learned a new french word: costa ricien
Jamie,of the greatest strikers currently who can we compare campbell with??
Your french word means ?,
Wow botelho scoring against money bags malaga.dats a sign of progres 4 our youngstars.
really hope botelho gets his chance at arsenal, he has put in a long loan apprentiship. Would be interested to know how many matches he played compared to say Kieran Gibbs who is around the same age.
Answer Jamie?
Jamie can you confirm that wellington has been recall from his loan spell at lavante? What is going on with him?
What’s probably going on is Levante are top of the table. They are hardly going to change a winning side. Bad luck for him
nice finish from campbell he reminds me of a left footed anelka or henry but i dont wanna put to much hope that he will become one of them 2 players but he is a talent
good on him…he looks like a big strong lad from this vid…really different to the current arsenal prototype player. hope he does well and that we get to see him play at the emirates soon.
What a game. Of course there were some negatives, but this is a positive day. RVP!!!
The talent is there that is for sure…of Vermaelen can stay fit than we will be a force of that I have no doubt. I NEVER questioned Ramsey’s ability and I was pretty sure he could produce the type of performances we have seen from him in the last few matches. That is the biggest positive I see out of all of this aside from the club climbing the table!!! There are some rumours floating around out there that Inter are interested in him and are making a bid along with the player exchange of Ricardo Alvarez. I would’n't have said yes to that deal even before these last few matches!!! The potential that Ramsey has is still there and still cannot be questioned!!!
Do you all think that Man City will play a full-strength squad against us in the Carling Cup??? I think they’d be crazy to, but you never know. What will we do??? Who will we play??? Some of the more experienced players will surely get a shot like Arshavin and Benayoun and probably Park again…I personally would try Ozyakup from the start and see how he plays. We are going to need someone to dictate the play in midfield, and aside from Ramsey, he’s the one I would try in there!!! I’d also see how Miyaichi and Oxlade Chamberlain do. Especially if Kolarov is playing. He’s been pretty weak defensively this year!!! I just have the feeling that City are going to play a very strong squad, so they might kill us. We could surprise them though if we play to our best and the young guys show all that they are capable of. We’ve upset the odds before in this competition and I wouldn’t put it past us to do so again!!! Come on Arsenal!!!:D
They had a very strong squad vs Wolves in the last cc game so they will have a strong squad vs us too. The big question is if Wenger is going to put out a very experiance team too. I hope he sticks with the squad he had in the last game.

We don’t look that weak but hopefully everyone will be available to play. I have a feeling we will beat them but we will have to work for it.
I’m happy for the chelshit win……who hotter than us?
We won’t beat Man City with that line-up no chance!!! We’d have to at least have Mertesacker or Koscielny play to have a chance. Diaby needs match time but I don’t think he should play this match…although I doubt that he would start a premier league match unless we were going to rest Arteta or Ramsey…so maybe that is a good idea. There is still something about his play that I do not trust though. He drives me nuts though!!! I know I’m not alone in this…the man’s a mystery!!! So much talent there, but for the injuries, he hasn’t put it all together. I’d rather see Chamberlain start instead and see how he does against those money bound mercenaries!!!
In the game verse Man City, it should be simple. Our first choice eleven but with a couple of the top kids like AOC and Frimpong or Coquelin. We need to try and win. The cups are our chance to win a trophy.

I’d like to see something like that, maybe with some firepower if needed on the bench with Van Persie, Walcott, Gervinho etc.
I’m always wary of a central midfield 2 in this day and age because almost every good team plays with 3 in the middle and you can be easily outnumbered and overrun. But Coquelin-Ramsey could definitely work. They’re both absolutely tremendous box to box athletes.
Is Gibbs fit again??? I don’t know…he had that torn stomach muscle so he might not be fit!!! Ramsey has been playing a lot of football lately and Wenger said he wouldn’t make the same mistake he made with Jack Wilshere again. Sooooooooooo I don’t know if he would risk Ramsey in the Carling Cup. Most certainly in the FA Cup though. I like the idea of Coquelin and Ramsey in the middle though. We’d miss the presence of Song in there though. It might not be enough just to have Coquelin and Ramsey in there. It would be interesting to try though. It would be like going back to the Flamini Cesc combination in the 4-4-2 that we had in the 07-08 season. And Arshavin would act as the Hleb type of player that we had back then. It could work, but against a really powerful team like Man City, it might not. I think that if he’s not suspended that Frimpong will surely play, even though that might not be such a good idea. Wenger likes to stick with players that are a liability at times. That’s his only real weakness in my opinion. So I think Frimpong will play. He could do well actually, if he is told to just play it simple and let the others do the fancy stuff. And not to dive in so much. He’s faster than Song I think, so he really shouldn’t have to do that all the time in my opinion.
Why is Botelho still in Spain? This guy seems like a real talent. We need to “shit or get off the pot” with this guy.
Will someone give jamie spec to remember this site again??
