Loanees – Ogogo Scores & Then Sent Off For Barnet

Welcome to this weekends Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium.

In this update you can read about the following players in the following games.

Reports:

Pedro Botelho – UD Salamanca 1-0 __ (90 Minutes)
Abu Ogogo – Barnet 1-2 Luton Town (Sent Off)
Nacer Barazite – Derby County 1-2 Crystal Palace (64 Minutes)
Kerrea Gilbert – Leicester City 3-0 Southend United (90 Minutes)

Previews:

Armand Traoré – Portsmouth V West Brom

Abu Ogogo – Barnet 1-3 Luton Town

If the purpose of Abu Ogogo’s loan spell with Barnet is to gain experience, then Saturday the 6th of December will live long in his memory.

The 19-year-old has been very impressive throughout his loan spell with the Bees, and started again at right back for the clash with Luton Town.

Things got off to a terrible start as the first 15 minutes saw Barnet outclassed, and 2-0 down. Strikes from Paul McVeigh and Chris Martin had done the damage – the leaky defending continued from the visitors.

However, an opportunist strike from Abu on 40 minutes brought a surprise consolation. Whilst the adrenaline was still running through Ogogo’s body, he made a rash challenge on the stroke of half time and found himself collecting a second booking.

A late Townsend O.G completed the scoring, Luton 3-1 winners.

Update To Follow

Nacer Barazite – Derby County 1-2 Crystal Palace

After being rested for Derby’s heavy defeat against Burnley last weekend, Paul Jewell restored Nacer Barazite to his starting XI for the visit of Crystal Palace.

The Dutchman had a couple of bright touches, but it was Palace who began the brighter. Paddy McCarthy crashed home a corner with just 3 minutes gone, leaving the Rams an up hill task to claim the points.

A snap shot from Nacer presented a small opportunity, but with the break approaching, Luke Varney levelled proceedings on his home debut.

The second period saw the visitors pile on the pressure, and on 61 minutes it paid off. Shefki Kuqi was on hand to put his side back in front.

3 minutes later Barazite was replaced with Rob Hulse, but Derby couldn’t force an equaliser.

Kerrea Gilbert – Leicester City 3-0 Southend United

After going missing from the Leicester City squad for the past two months, Kerrea Gilbert returned to the Foxes team for their fixture against Southend.

Gilbert had an unhappy spell on loan with United last season, and was no doubt out to prove a point. Matty Fryatt made it four in two on 6 minutes to put Leicester in front, a lead they took into half time.

The second period was one of chances at either end, but with 15 minutes left, City stepped up and secured the win. A brace from Fryatt in the closing stages added up to a match winning hat-trick.

Armand Traoré – Portsmouth V West Brom

Armand Traore is expected to start Portsmouth’s clash with West Brom.

crazy that arsenal fans get at eboue so badly everyone seems to forget how quickly all what he has done for us and that it was his first game back from injury he is a great player and is one of our only players who crosses well. Also well done to abu for scoring.

    Hi J,
I just have one question. I started following Arsenal reserves and youth only this season. How good was Denilson last year?

Re Phader: Eboue was booed by the fans because he was playing horrendously today. he lost the ball too many times and he almost gave Wigan an equaliser. But a bit harsh on him though.

J, please post my comment. Thank you

he was doing good then he misplaced one pass when he tried to show boat and some morons started showing their true colors and got on his back and the team was shaken last 7-10 mins..Disgraceful cunts call themselves fans when they dint have the heart to even cheer their team for 80 mins and then they boo eboube.

Being an absolute muppet by passing the ball astray every time he got it and showing nothing for his teammates so they couldn’t pass to him and when they did he lost the ball.

I’m really upset about the whole Eboue being booed thing. It’s disgraceful and I feel so sorry for Eboue. He isnt the greatest player in the squad but he still plays for Arsenal and we should support him through thick and thin. He’s been out for NINE games and gets thrown on on the left hand side. What could be expect from him?? He was playing out of position and he wasnt actually that bad. It was actually Toure who cocked it up at the end there.

I really hope this doesnt effect him majorly , although i think it will. We need him now, we have no Walcott and Eboue is the only other RHS player. He can cross well and he links up well with Sagna.

I hope this isnt the end for Eboue, I hope we don’t see another Sol Campbell situation.

Whoever booed Eboue should be ashamed.

They also forget that he was forced to play left wing cos of Nasri’s injury, that Clichy, Nasri and (when he came on for Eboue) Sylvestre had just as hard a time despite all being used to playing on the left, and er….that he’s an Arsenal player – and you never boo your own players.

You could just about understand the howls of frustration from all round the ground when he gave the ball away a number of times towards the end, but the booing which followed each misplaced pass, the cheering of his substitution, and the utterly disgraceful booing of him when he made his way off the pitch (in obvious distress) were entirely led by the RedAction Singing Section in the lower right corner of the ground.

It was an absolutely disgraceful way to treat someone in an Arsenal shirt, and you could see the effect it had on every other player’s confidence. How they had the shame to sing ‘We Love You Arsenal We Do’ after that is beyond me. W-nkers every one of them.

New generation of our fans are so stupid, they should all be tossed in dump yard. What does booing acheive? It affected the rest of the team and he only just came back from 5 week knee injury.

He’s a fantastic full back, in the class of alves. But it aint fair to play him left midfield. He was passed the ball of the pitch unchallenged, stayed up front, ahead of ade, never tracked back, then on the counter, turned round and passed it to their strickers, twice.
I did not boo, it aint the arsenal way, and was disgusted with those who did. He stormed off down the tunnel, not sure if he was upset with his performance or the booing.

I understand we need to fill the gap, but he cannot play in midfield. Arsene talks about showin faith in the youngsters, so play wilksh or rambo. At least they’ll get the positioning right. And all you gooners, if you aint got nothing nice to say, keep quite.

Felt really sorry for Eboue, our fans today were shocking. Off the back of a great result at Chelsea and an early goal there was no noise whatsoever from the crowd. Eboue did have a poor second half, however he was playing out of position and just after an injury. I have seen Walcott have many worse games than Eboue and go off to a standing ovation.

The fans need to grow up!!

Eboue is a poor right back – principally because he has no idea of defensive positioning, at best an average right midfielder – let alone left!! Add that to the diving, cheating, brainlessness and general malaise of the man and it’s understandable that fans are fed up of Eboue. I personally feel uncomfortable every time I see the man in an Arsenal shirt.

Having said that, booing our own players is a big no go area. Seeing so many give one man such abuse was utterly distasteful. Especially as ultimately the buck stops with Wenger – Eboue should have been sold a year ago, should never have been brought on after 5 weeks out in an unfamiliar, ill-suited position. It just set the man up for what happened.

I’ll support Wenger, Arsenal (and by that measure Eboue) to the worlds end, and part of that support means recognising the problems that exist at the club, but that happens between games, not during them. A sad day.

does anyone here find matt le tissier a knob
i mean take yesterday for example he was going on about how we didn’t finish enough chances but we won one nil which don’t add up and you always hear him moaning at arsenal yet if liverpool chelsea or man u hold out for a one nil then its classed as great defending yet if arsenal do it then its classed as luck or we didn’t finish enough.

arsenal have ruined eboue he was a good full back who wud hav accepted 2nd choice 2 sagna…its very rare 2 hav 2 good rb,s accepting their places in a squad..2 try and accomodate him as a winger is silly-he is a poor midfielder in general let alone 4 arsenal wenger tried 2 be clever with thta and it hasnt paid off my only suprise is the length of time hes had in midfield!!!….times up 4 eboue and all tho it was disgraceful by the fans n even worse of a decision by wenger,it was something that needed 2 happen to make wenger see some sense on this 1!!! i fully expect him 2 leave for spain n go full back where in a attack minded team he wud get back 2 his best..good luck 2 him cos his attitude is very good

J, do you think Traore is good enough to be in Arsenal first team? He put on some stunning perfomances for Pompey. But Clichy is too good isn’t he?
