Cheeky Salamanca Have No Chance Of Re-Signing Vela

Arsenal’s audacious Spanish link club UD Salamanca admit they are keen to leap frog West Bromwich Albion and capture the loan signing of teenage Mexico international Carlos Vela.

Vela netted 8 times in 31 Segunda fixtures during a season long loan spell with the Union in 2006, and instantly became a legend among Salamanca’s supporters.

Back then times were difficult, but now they are top of the table and heading for promotion to La Liga. However, despite adding two strikers to their ranks over the summer, goals from the duo have been few and far between.

Speaking in yesterday’s Tribuna de Salamanca newspaper, chairman Juanjo Pascual spoke about his January transfer plans, which include signing a young South American striker from Arsenal.

Almost tongue-in-cheek, the reporter put it to the chief that they will be re-signing Vela, and Pascual quipped that whilst they are interested, convincing the Gunners to let him go would be a tough prospect.

West Brom manager Tony Mowbray today admitted that he will be keen to acquire the services of a new centre forward on loan, but Carlos himself moved to quash that speculation this morning.

Having spend two and a half years cutting his teeth away from the Emirates, it seems very unlikely that Arsène Wenger would let the 19-year-old out again, even to a Premier League club.

But what do you think? should we keep Carlos at the Emirates as back up? or let him get more minutes on loan?

Vela should not be loaned anywhere, with recent poor performances in our side Vela should be getting a chance.

I would like to see Vela in the first team and defo ahead of Bendtner, but with the timely arrival of Eduardo, i doubt we’ll be seeing Vela break first team this season, so i believe Mr Wenger should loan out our star of the future to West Brom, as they are a premiership team and are lacking goals.

This would be a good lerning curve for young Mr Vela, as he is in his debut season of the prem. Going on loan would do him wonders, because he’ll get regular football and grow in strength

I am really unsure. If Robin stays fit then there’s a reason why we should send him out to adjust. But we cannot predict how Dudu will return…

Keep him he gives us another dimension and is improving all the time. Say we are playing Madrid away start Vela off Ade.
Say we started EDS and RVP and things aren’t going well introduce Carlos for pace and direct running.

wenger should use him more than he does. the boy is top quality. Keep him here. I prefer both him and Dudu to RVP personally. RVP is up and down. When he is down, he is no use to the team and that’s too often. Ade is massive for the team even when he is having a down day.

There’s no way we can let him leave when none of our strikers bar possibly Van Persie are reliable.

I think Wenger will monitor dudu’s progress through Dec and Jan. If things go ok I think a 3 month deal to a premiership club would be amazing. Seeing that West Brom are very short of attacking options after a series of injuries, he would get the game time required to make the move mutually beneficial

its difficult to judge, his quality is undoubtable but with edurado coming back and with vela not fully adapted to the EPL. however wenger normally allows 6 months for adaption then will let them have a starting berth. i think FA cup and last 10-25 min cameos in the league to win games at the death.
i think simpson should go to west brom as they play decent football similar to ours in many ways and give simpson some minuets in the EPL.

We need Vela. We have only just 5 strikers, and Wenger can play with four. (And I’ve heard some gossips that Bendtner will go the Spartak Moskaw.)

He has already spent 2 seasons on loan so I think he needs to stay and integrate with the Arsenal Team.

Why would Carlos Vela go back to Spain because his future is in England and the sooner he adapts to English football the better IMO.

tough to say with eduardo back and wenger doesn’t seem to keen on playing vela on the wing probably for defensive reasons. but given bendtner’s form, RVP’s injury prone history, and Eduardo’s long layoff, might be good to keep him around

IMO i think he should go on loand to WB for the rest of the season, i mean bendtner can do a good job of covering and with eduardo now almost back his playing time will only decrease. WB will be a good club to go to aswell. They try to play football (like arsenal) but they also have to mix it up alot too. As WB will spend most of there time defending when vela does receive the ball it will teach him to pick the best option and not to waste any attacks. A lil bit of toughning up wont hurt either.

I DO NOT KNOW Y HIM SITTING ON THE BECH WASTING HIS TALENT IS BETTER THEN HIM PLAYING WEEK IN WEEK OUT. THE MOST HE WILL PLAY AT ARSEBAL IS THE LAST 10MINS OF A GAME.

i really think wenger should let him go to a prem league club that can promise to give him a lot of playing time. at the moment he is 5th choice striker with eduardo who now back in contention while wenger reluctant to play him on the wing where vela play last season for osasuna means he highly unlikely to get playing time. let him go on loan until end of season and i’m sure next season he would be a better suited player for prem league.

I think unless he plays on the wing its best that he goes on loan for the 2nd half it will really help him on the physical side of his game

With Eduardo coming back, I think Bendtner should be the one going on loan (with a clause to recall him). I’m sure Everton or West Ham or so on would love him or Vela and would play him regularly. Bendtner needs the confidence, he needs the adjustment, he needs the regular football. Vela needs to stay a whole season here though I think.

He shouldn’t go on loan but if he doesn’t get games as a striker, playing as a left winger won’t do as much for him. Yes there are positives to get out of it but his future is at forward. Simpson, Merida, Lansbury,Randall, Gibbs should go on loan if they want to get better because I feel they have a chance but then again the senior team may need them some time.

I’d be tempted to send one of either him or Bendtner on loan. I personally would send Bendtner on loan because Vela can play left wing as well as up front, but Wenger doesn’t play Vela on the wing so this would be a good idea. It’d be good if we could send Simpson to them as well.
