As regular Young Guns readers will know, Jay Simpson opened his Premier League account this afternoon – scoring the first equaliser as West Brom drew 2-2 with Hull City at the KC Stadium.
The strike – his second since joining Tony Mowbray’s men – was an instintive, crisp and well placed effort, which helped galvanise the Baggies in their fight against a solid City side. You can watch the goal, and full highlights of the game, below.

Simpson can do better at RM than Eboue. I believe he’s scored more goals playing for the Arsenal than total goals scored by Eboue since joining the nArsenal.
Hope he keeps it up, but am more concerned about our current. One word “Adebayor”. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3mkjm-uoDVU
Nice goal…great playa
Nice goal…great playa
whats the truth about the rui fonte stuff as i asked him after the pompey reserve game if he had signed for us yet and he said he had signed pro forms but is on loan till end of season. So i don’t see how he signed for us in 2007
Did you know that it’s a violent gang i Norway called Young Guns? Just a heads up from me…
Howard you are wrong. Jay has scored 2 goals for Arsenal, whereas Eboue has definitely scored 3. I agree with your opinion that he is better than Eboue!
J. Simpson… you don’t happen to live in norway by any chance?
lol… anyone suspecting we’re all being conditioned by an evil norwegen future dictator who wants to indoctrinate us into his band of thugs.
Good, me neither. Good goal from Jay, nice to see hes got the confidance to stick his foot in even when another player from his side is going for it, he looks more confidant every week.
I know i’ve not exactly been his biggest fan in the past, not that i dislike him as a player or a person, but i have doubted his potential. I think now i can conceid i might have been wrong, and i really hope by the end of the season there will be no doubt i was completely wrong.
West Brom fan here. Simpson is looking really good for us, he’s picked up a slight hamstring injury which i think will keep him out of this weeks game against Newcastle. Though he may be used as sub if Mowbray wants to take a gamble.
Hopefully Jay will be back soon, as he’s looking like he could be our saviour.
