Internationals – Bischoff Scores For Portugal – Video

Amaury Bischoff – Portugal U21’s 3-1 Switzerland U21’s

Amaury Bischoff marked his debut for Portugal Under 21’s with the opening goal of his sides 3-1 win over Switzerland this evening.

The 21-year-old took full advantage of a mistake by the Swiss defence, to curl home from the edge of the box. Tiago Pinto doubled the lead on the half hour mark, before Jonathan Rossini pulled a second half consolation back.

Just minutes later though, Yazalde wrapped up a convincing win for Portugal, finishing a great team move. Amaury played an hour before being replaced with Rui Pedro.

Lansbury, Hoyte, Wilshere & Mérida – England U19 0-3 Spain U19

England’s Under 19’s comprehensively lost 3-0 to their Spanish counterparts in the opening game of the evening, and a quadruple of young Gunners were handed run outs.

for Brian Eastick’s England – Gavin Hoyte took his place at centre back, whilst skipper Henri Lansbury led the troops from the middle of the park. Jack Wilshere made his debut out on the wing. Fran Mérida started for visitors, operating as a left sided play maker.

In front of a decent sized crowd at Bournmouth’s Dean Court stadium, England began in a shaky manner, and found themselves behind after a defensive mix-up was punished by lethal Spanish finishing.

Hoyte’s lazy pass to Alex Smithies put his goalkeeper under pressure, resulting in Smithies miss kicking, and seeing the ball hit his own post. Shell shocked from what had happened, The Three Lions fell asleep, allowing Juve’s Iago Falqué the simple task of putting his side into a 5th minute lead.

But it was the Arsenal duo who inspired a come back, as first a long ranger from Lansbury tested Diego Mariño, and then Wilshere from just inside the box. However, the chances were not taken, and when Falqué’s flick found Jordi Pablo, the hosts were 2-0 down before the fight back had truly began.

Lansbury had several shots which forced good saves from Mariño, before Raul Ruiz sealed the win just after the hour mark. It wasn’t to be England’s night, but it was the Arsenal boys who showed the most promise.

Kieran Gibbs – England U21 2-3 Ecuador

Kieran Gibbs made his debut for England Under 21’s this evening, as he came on as a 63rd minute substitute during the Three Lions defeat to Ecuador.

Adam Johnson and Frazier Campbell goals looked to have sealed an impressive win, before two strikes in two second half minutes cut back the advantage.

Manchester City’s Feilpe Caicedo won the fixture in the 82nd minute, finishing well beyond Tom Heaton.

I like him to be honest, I think he’s a classy play-maker type. Little pace, but a real thinker on the ball, and his finish as you can see was excellent.

Glad to hear – but what do you think, honestly, of his chances of getting a contract extension, let alone become a part of the squad in the first team?

Slim at the moment, but things can change quickly in football, and goals and performances like tonight will only help him.

I think he just needs a chance to prove himself.

Im still mmiffed by the Wenger Eboue relationship. If you believe reports we turned an £8m offer for Eboue yet that was our opening valuation of Arshavin!! Surely AW does not think Eboue is better than Arshavin!!!

Highlights from the U-19 game. It seemed Gavin had a decent game, at least he made one very good tackle. What a screaming mistake the GK made for that first goal, reminds me a lot of Lehman against Fulham in the first game of last season. Wilshere was partly at fault for the second one. It was a stunning shot but he should have slided for the block there, at least put in a much better pressure. There was a lack of enthusiasm in the midfield for that second goal. You can see from those highlights how technically superior the Spanish players are, deserved the win it seemed.
Lansbury never got in front of the camera for the highlights but I liked the look of Danny Drinkwater, the no. 7. Unfortunately he plays for United.

I’m surprised arsenal.com didn’t mention Gavin Hoyte at all, neither now nor when they introduced the call-ups. Also, they state that Lansbury played the 90 minutes while thefa.com says he was subbed off at 78, and Gaving off at halftime.

Now those Wenger critics can shut up. We have 3 in the U-17 (only us and United have more than one), 3 in the U-19, 1 in the U-21 and 1 who’s a full international.

I actually watched the game portugal vs switerzland and hes a classy player. Hes better than denilson in my opinnion, hes got a change of pace, has time on the ball, and picks out out deceptive passes. Hes like carrick but more mobile. JS is Henry Lansbury better than ramsey in your opinnion? I like lansbury and ramsey but id have to say lansbury coz hes english-lol

I think they should extend it for another year and give him a proper run in the carlin cup. His slight lack of pace concerns me a bit but he is cool on the ball and technically gifted, that finish was class.

Still don’t think he’ll become a part of our 2st team, but it can only be a good thing that he is doing well and making headlines for the positive reasons hen he does get a chance.

Best we can hope for i think is a fee when we let him go.

Really, you should have re-read that and gone “If you believe reports”?

Transfer rumours and agent bullshit is ridiculous and yet people are still, still!, believing it. Blaudy hell.

I don’t think he will make it and will go on a free transfer in the summer. His contract is only 1 year. Ashravin, Walcott, Rosicky are coming back so I don’t fancy his chance.

Rui Fonte and Portugal won 3-2 against Norway U19 and Håvard Nordtveit. Fonte got a goal too.
