Benik Afobe was one of four Arsenal players chosen to train with the Brazilian National Team yesterday afternoon, as Dunga’s superstars prepared for this evening’s ‘World Derby’ with Italy at Emirates Stadium.
Centre back Daniel Boateng joined Benik, along with midfielders Emmanuel Frimpong and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. The quadruple warmed up with the South Americans, before moving into 5-aside games.
Afobe managed to score a brace past Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar, and is pictured above successfully tackling two time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho. The experience is something the 15-year-old is grateful for.
“It was such a great honour to be given the chance to touch the same ball as those players. They taught me a few things that I will definitely use.”
Benik may not have the same experience as some of the players he trained with, but he may be familiar with Brazil’s evening ‘preperations’, which included mini tournaments of FIFA 2009. Just for the record, Alex Pato beat everybody.
The youngsters will come back to earth with a thump as they get ready for next week’s F.A Youth Cup fixture with either Tottenham or Plymouth.

finaly da pics nice job J.
Is the U19 match being shown anywhere?
Wilshere is in the squad along with Lansbury. And Merida should be playing for Spain as well.
I would ruin Pato on Fifa 09.
not bad to bag 2 goals!
What was the score, Jamie?
Awesome, the perks of being in the AFC youth setup!!!!!
Apparently they are playing Pro 2009 but I’m no expert.
This is a great experience and judging by the picture Afobe doesn’t look
physically out of place. Haven’t seen much of Boateng. How good is he?
Also how much players were actually left over. These four may have been pick of the bunch of quite average players.

Brazil is the best.. just need to be less arrogant.. but I loved.. I’m Brazilian..
Hmmm, the next Pele, bit much for a 15/16 year old don’t you think?
Odd picture, its amazing what a camera can capture!
This is a very vital experience for a talented striker like Benik, 2goals against Cesar. Hope to see him in next season pre season squad
