Resurrección Not Interested In Arsenal + Botelho Report

Atlético Madrid midfielder Jorge ‘Koke’ Resurrección claims he is only interested in playing and developing for Los Colchoneros, as reports in several British tabloids suggest Arsène Wenger is closing in on his signature.

Young Guns revealed that Arsenal scout Francis Cagigao had been making checks on the Spanish Under 17 skipper in November, but no official contact has been made regarding a possible transfer.

Resurrección, now 17, told Spanish daily Elmundo Deportivo last week that he is only concentrating on playing for Atlético, and isn’t worried about not moving into the first team straight away.

“For me, I’m only interested in playing for my team, working hard, and improving. If the season ends with a first team call up, then it’s bonus and I’ll try and learn everything I can.”

Koke is a box-to-box central midfielder who focuses on the defensive side of the game. He has shared rooms with current Gunner Ignasi Miquel-Pons when playing for his country, but the dedicated starlet seems destined to stay with Madrid.

Keeping with the España theme, Arsenal defender Pedro Botelho played the full 90 minutes at left back as UD Salamanca lost further ground in their push for promotion, after losing a 1-0 lead against Deportivo Alaves.

The Brazilian put in one of his most impressive performances, mixing his usual tricks and flicks with several good crosses from the left. On the pitch, Salamanca battered at the Alaves door all evening, but only found a way through in 75th minute.

Miku’s strike looked set to keep the Union in the hunt for promotion, until Alaves rescued a point in the final minute.

Can somebody tell me why we haven’t gone back in for M’Bia? We here that Newcastle have gone in for him and apparently we bid for him in the summer. I’m hoping we manage a sneaky transfer tomorrow as well as the Arshavin one. Fingers crossed.

J, you should stop writing your reports before games are even finished… this isn’t the first time you’ve published an incorrect result.

Why the hell are we not hijacking the Veloso-Bolton move? Thats probbly not goin to happen now but Sporting have shown that they are willing to sell, we need to buy. If not himm then Angelo Palombo from Samp who is superb. As well as Arsh.

Sanderson, what’s happening with the South American striker that we were supposed to send to Salamanca? Any idea if a deal has been completed + any names?

because if u have seen Veloso play you would realise he is grossly OVERRATED! Reust me. There’s a reason no one important has gone for him. his popularity is bcuz of Ronaldo. Look at Quaresma.

Not really, completely different kind of player than Ronaldo and anyone who likes him simply because hes portuguese and from sporting like Ronaldo probably doesnt know much about football. Veloso is like Xabi Alonso with a bit more pace. Moutinho is more like Simao aswell, more centrally minded than Ronaldo, more direct, bit less effective and skillful but still good. And Quaresma is just an enigma, incredibly skillfull, incredibly talented, incredibly inconsistant, incredibly arrogant. Not that i’m saying we should sign any of them of course…

Don’t see hy we’d need the spanish kid, Athletico have that blondy who ripped up the U17s euro, but hes an attacking mid called Keko not a defencive one called Koke. I meen we have Coquelin, Landsbury, Randall, JET, Frimpong, Ramsey and that Aneke kid (does any1 know how you pronounce that btw??)

About Pedro, is he actually guna join up with us this summer or will it be the summer after?
