Young Guns Is One Year, One Month, & One Day Old!

Young Guns celebrates a special anniversary today, as it’s one year, one month and one day since the website’s very first article, and i would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for their continued support.

We’ve been dedicated to providing you with the latest news, views and updates surrounding Arsenal’s Reserves & Youth for over a year now. Indeed, we’ve been so committed, we actually missed the official date of our anniversary.

See below for some stats:

* 5,470,915 Views
* Best Day – 45,962 — Monday, June 23, 2008
* 792 Articles
* 27,894 Comments
* 92 Users Subscribed Via RSS

We’d just like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for their support, encouragement and opinions. Young Guns has come a very long way since our first article – which was an exclusive update on Nacer Barazite’s fitness – and that’s mostly because of our desire to bring our loyal readers the very best product possible.

A big thank you must also be sent to Alex Zimmermann over at Carlos Vela News, as his graphics have helped the site develop a professional look and feel. Also a shout out to all my fellow bloggers who helped me settle in, and now I’ve subsequently returned the favour with.

On a personal note, I hope you have enjoyed the past 13 months, and you’ll stay locked for more updates. Here’s to another year, and beyond!

Kind Regards

The Young Guns Team.

    Happy Nelson Day mate.

    I’m an old fart with a very low boredom threshold so there’s very very few Arsenal sites that I bother to look at. This is one of them so in my book you’re doing a damn good job here matey.

    Totally off track – Frimpong. You know more about them than many but I saw him at Sunderland where he was very very good, apparently he was MotM in the previous round, and since then he’s replaced Coquelin in the Euro squad and got a new contract. What sort of level do you reckon he’s at?

    Thanks very much guys.

    With regards to Frimpong – I think he can do big things, but he’s very raw and must learn a lot. But I think in the future he can be a big player for the club, but has much to learn.

    So would a fair call be maybe one of the unused subs a few times this term, League Cup team level next year and shoot for the first team squad the next season?

    I was seriously impressed with him at Sunderland though. Coquelin was scurrying around to great effect but Frimpong just seemed to stand in the middle and draw everything toward him. If we went forward the ball often went through him and if they went forward the ball often stopped near him – I remember one of their fans described our central midfield as an oak tree and a terrier which seemed kind of apt. Afobe was great when he came on as well – scared the hell out of them.

    I have to say JS that this is my main source for quirky facts about the young talent coming through that I can use to impress my fellow arsenal friends. Love your work and long live youngguns.

    I’d also add that I’m absolutely delighted that your best day happened to be my 18th birthday! 23/06/08 was a good day all round then!

    Same here.

    I’m proud to say I’ve been here since the first day.

    The work you consistently produce is quite magnificent – especially with the quality that comes out of it.

    Long may Young Guns continue!

    J – fantastic site, you really have done a great job here. Immediate match reports and original and interesting news makes this site one of my favourite. Keep up the good Work!
    Also, about Sunu, I read here a while ago that he was going to Lyon at the end of the season, but with a real upturn in his recent performances, is this still the case?
