Arsenal Scouting Huracán's Pastore – Video

Arsenal have joined a host of European Club’s in sending scouts to watch Club Atlético Huracán play-maker Javier Pastore, according to a report in Argentina.

The 6ft 1 (1.87m) starlet reportedly turned down the advances of Manchester United last month, with his agent, Marcelo Simonian, noting that the 19-year-old preferred to sign for a side who could develop and grow with him.

“I received an offer of €10 million for Pastore but the player isn’t interested so much in money as he wants to be transferred to a team where he can play and grow up.”

“We want the correct team and project.”

Despite the report, the Argentine media remained skeptical that United had made the bid, but they have previously confirmed that they are scouting Pastore.

Javier began his career with home town club Talleres de Córdoba in 2007, but after making just 5 appearances, Huracán snapped him up – taking him to the Argentine Primera division. So far he has 6 goals in 26 games and has won the attention of many including Lazio and Juventus.

A creative and stylish play-maker, Javier is capable of playing off the striker in a typical number 10 role, or on either flank. Boasting quick feet and a clam head, it only seems a matter of time before he heads to Europe. You can watch one of Pastore’s goals by clicking the link below.

Sounds like he could be a useful player, however I was under the impression that Wenger would be targeting more experienced players this summer. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part though!

Rui Fonte’s just been released by arsenal. His 3 year loan deal ended and he’s now gone back to sporting until 2011; still another loan deal is on the cards coz there is no way hes going to break into their team with Liedson, Derlei, Postiga, Djalo and Rodrigo Tiui all occupying the striking role. I thought we would buy him coz whenever i watched him he was really commited to fighting for the club by getting into tackles and trying to latch onto things, but i guess it was all done to get a new deal and other youngsters were prefered to him.
JAMIE you think the same’s gnna happen to Sunu?

Sunu can’t change his mind, he’s under contract. Those rumors were always nonsense. If he was going to be out of contract then I could see him going back to France. Arsenal paid a lot of money for him (relatively speaking for a 16 year old, it was over a million) so they wouldn’t just let him walk away.

Obviously he can be worthy buying but I think we dont have that amount of money on one single player whose only 19 so without experience. Barazite is back from loan and is 19 too + Traore or Gibbs and the others from youth side. Now we need only someone who is experienced.

South America is the place to really good young talent. Sir Alex Ferguson and the crew at Manchester United have known this many years ago. That’s why the Red Devils have scouts plastered all over Brasil and all of South America. Javier had a great match against River Plate on Saturday. Pastore scored the daily double. Check out my lastest Blog…. http://bobbygee.wordpress.com/
This blog is hard on the eyes. It is best to have an all white background with Black print. This way the words stand out more and they are easier to read…. I am Flamenguista..Two of my best friends are from Buenos Aires. Julio is a huge Boca fan. Doctor Palau is a River Plate man. God bless Bobby Gee
