Two years ago David Dein set up a link with Spanish second division side U.D Salamanca, Arsene Wenger and Boro Primorac were keen to find a club who play similar football to Arsenal, that they could help develop and in exchange send players who couldn’t get work permits on loan there.

Celta Vigo was also selected but a row over the registration of Carlos Vela meant Arsenal cancelled the agreement.

Ive been keeping a close eye on the Spanish side, because of course we have Pedro on loan there as well as Vela last season.

So i caught up with Nacho a regular at Salamanca’s matches to discuss his views on a whole host of things we discussed.

What Do You Think About Arsenal’s Partnership With Salamanca

“Is very important for UD Salamanca, Salamanca can attract better players and develop our current ones thanks to the link with Arsenal as well as get great players from Arsenal”

“For Arsenal is a possibility to educate young players , because our league is very competitive and with requirement for a physical style to get promoted to the first division.”

“Is possible, i think, the UD Salamanca is a team of great players, we have created some great players, Pauleta is a good example.”

“Still, i dont see him to play, for Salamanca but i think he is a very good player, especially if Arsenal have bought him. He has made a very good impression in the training this week, we hope to see him soon”
