Cedric Evina netted the only goal as Arsenal beat Congolese team TP Mazembe in a friendly at Arsenal’s Shenley training ground.
Mazembe felt James Dunne was offside and as they were busy appealing, Dunne played the ball out to Evina who from 16 metres scored to give Arsenal the win, getting his 5th goal of the season.
The game was used as a chance for Mazembe striker Tresor Mputu to try and impress manager Arsene Wenger again after a a 10 day trial where the boss was unimpressed but was keen to take another look
But Mputu was only half fit having picked up an injury and was subbed off after 6 minutes, this came after Wenger had reportedly told Mputu to make himself feel at home this time.
Nacer Barazite also made his return in the fixture but the game was all about the Congo international Mputu who is being offered around by his club and agent to clubs, Mazembe will face Sevilla soon who are also interested in the striker dubbed the new Eto’o
Many of the players who played will also feature for the Under 18s tomorrow, you can read Young Guns preview HERE
