Liverpool V Arsenal [F.A Youth Cup][Match Preview]

Arsenal take on Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night in the biggest game of the young boys career, with Manchester United, [the side who knocked us out last season] being dumped out against Carlisle, this is our chance to go and win the cup, in my opinion the winner of this game will win the tournament.

But, Liverpool are the back to back holders, beating Man Utd in last years final they have a great mix of local lads, and players signed from the best Academy’s from around the world.

Liverpool also have a large Youth Squad, and take this competition very seriously, but few of there side are local born, with Rafael Benitez sending scouts to the best clubs around the world and trying to snap up the best players taking advantage of the Youth contract rules in other country’s.

Liverpool’s Danger-men

Marvin Pourie – Striker – Signed from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2007, a fast strong finisher, he will be Liverpool’s target man German Youth International.

Nathan Eccleston – Striker Manchester born England Youth regular, blessed with bags of pace, and a great finisher. 13 goals in 16 games this season for the Under 18s.

David Amoo – Winger – Signed from Millwall – Amoo is in the style of Ryan Babel, tall strong, full of pace and a real danger in the air.

There plus points are in attack, they have lots of high quality front men who can also play on the wing, but they have had huge problems at the back this season, the physical presence of Sunu and Barazite [Should they start] will certainly unsettle the shaky backline.

Injury News

Good news for Arsenal is top scorer Nacer Barazite is fit and has 2 games under his belt against TP Mazembe and then under 18s match against Ipswich on Saturday.

New signing Luke Freeman could be included after making his debut against Ipswich on Saturday, Rhys Murphy is still out with a Hernia injury, James Shea is also injured.

Kieran Gibbs, Henri Lansbury and Paul Rodgers all missed the match against Birmingham, but should be in the squad, Vito Mannone and Kerrea Gilbert cant feature as they are over 18. and Rui Fonte is rated as doubtful with a broken nose.

Predicted Line Up

————–Szczesny——————

Ogogo – G.Hoyte – Nordtveit (C)- Steer
Lansbury – Randall – Dunne – Gibbs
———-Watt – Sunu——————

Only a predicted line-up, i will of course update it when i get the official team.

How can Randall and Gibbs still play in this competition?

Strange that Bould doesn’t play the 91s and 92s in this competition. Thomas, Bartley, Cruise, and Wilshere all miss out unfortunately.

I must say you’ve done a very bad research. Only players bron between 1 September 1989 and 31 August 1992 are allowed in the competition.

Mikel San Jose (born 30 May 1989), Jordy Brouwer (born 26 February 1988), Jay Spearing (born 25 November 1988), Krisztian Nemeth (born 5 January 1989) and Damien Plessis (born 5 March 1988) are therefor all to old to play in the FA Youth Cup.

Hi, a liverpool fan over here. Well, hoping for a nice game of football and I must say that although we won the FA youth cup for two consecutive seasons now, this side is a completely new one with only Adjarevic having started last year’s final. We are very good going forward with the likes of Amoo, Eccleston, Mackay-Steven, Adjarevic and Pacheco who’s probably our most promising youngster, tho he’s not sure to play as he’s moved to the reserves lately as he’s looked too good for the academy. However, our real weakness is at the back as we do miss the likes of Spearing and Threlfall tho Irwin and Kelly haven’t done anything wrong so far. Btw, how is Rhys Murphy doing? Really liked the look of him in the under-17s euro championship.

i’m also a liverpool-fan and i think this Gerardo Bruna lad is a real gem and also Steve Irwin looks like a hot prospect. hopefully Bouzanis will play in goal altho Oldfield and Hansen are also good, but our defence is probably our main problem tbf
