Norwich manager Glenn Roeder today told the press Arsene Wenger has given him “First Option” on one of Arsenal’s young players with the player in question thought to be 18 year old full back Armand Traore.

Young Guns reported on the 16th of January Norwich were keen on Armand as well as Watford and Charlton, but today’s news suggests The Canaries has jumped the que and Wenger will let Roeder take the left back on loan if he wants, but the former Newcastle coach also said he hasn’t accepted the offer yet, with only 3 days of the transfer window he will have to act quickly.

Roeder said:

“As far as I’m aware, Arsenal are only going to let one lad out because they’ve got a lot of injuries and are still in plenty of competitions,” said the Canaries boss.
“We might take him and have first option on him anyway.

Traore has 2 Reserves team goals this season, and has become a Cup regular for the first team, playing a part in the Carling Cup run as well as F.A Cup his brightest moment came starting the Champions League match away against Sevilla, but the former Monaco trainee hit the headline’s for the wrong reasons in September when he was caught by Stewards at White Hart Lane carrying a lethal “Knuckle Duster”

With two left backs on loan already at Carrow Road, I can see why we haven’t taken up the option yet – it’s the one area we’re overloaded!

Would be a great addition but i doubt its going to be him as we have 2 loan left backs already. Im thinking Kieran Gibbs is more likely

This would be mad! What happens if Gael Clichy gets injured? We’re not overloaded with left backs…

It won’t be Traore, that’s as likely as Walcott..

Randall maybe – centre midfield is congested and he’s a good talent who needs minutes..
