17 year old Torpedo Moscow defender Vyacheslav Dmitriev, has agreed to join Arsenal in the summer for a nominal fee, according to the Daily Mirror. This transfer, if true, and 17 year old Havard Nordtveit, who arrived last summer, should signal the end of 18 year old Paul Rodgers, with Manchester City and Tottenham keen to take Edmonton born centre back at the end of the season.
Striker Deal Stalling :
The deal to bring Luke Freeman to Arsenal has stalled. The Gills are wanting a pre season friendly match with Arsenal’s first team in the summer, as well as a large part of any sell on transfer fee.
Gillingham have accepted our £100,000 offer, but boss Mark Stimpson confirmed a deal isn’t imminent.
“He’s still a Gillingham player,” said Stimson. “Luke is in the process of maybe going across to Arsenal.
“At the moment the chairman and someone from Arsenal are sorting the details out.”
He also spoke on the transfer fee saying:
“I’ve read that they’ll pay £500,000 for him and I said to the chairman ‘happy days’ but it’s not going to be anywhere near that type of money unfortunately for us.”
“It will be something that, if he makes the grade at Arsenal, then we’ll get rewarded and there will be some kind of fee for the transfer. He’s a special talent.”
Ghanian Striker Being Scouted
Also 18 year old left winger André Ayew has been linked for a fee of about £5.5 million, a source close to Ayew admitted :
“Arsenal have sent scouts to watch him almost every week,”
A powerful left footed left striker, who can play wide on the left or in central midfield recently made his debut Steve Rowley apparently set to send scouts to the African Nation’s Cup, where he will be playing for the hosts Ghana.
He joined Marseille on a scholarship deal in 2005 and impressed by scoring 11 goals with the Reserves last season, in May [of 2007] he was given a 3 year pro contract.
Son of Abedi Ayew, nicknamed the African Pele, Andre known more by his middle name “Dede” is just as quick and skilful as his father was, and is rated as highly in France, as Jimmy Briand, Morgan Schneiderlin and Samir Nasri.
