Arsenal's Loanees Weekend Match Reports.

Welcome to Young Guns reports of the weekends matches for all of our seven young players currently out on loan.

Saturday’s Results.

Jay Simpson – Millwall 3-0 Port Vale

Jay Simpson started as Millwall played on bottom side Port Vale, in a good old fashioned relegation dogfight, Jay’s strike-partner Lewis Grabban put the home side ahead on 18 minutes, before Marc Laid doubled the lead just before half time.

In the second half, the defeat was compounded with David Martin’s goal on 68 minutes. shortly after Jay was subbed off.

Mark Randall – Plymouth 3-1 Burnley

Mark Randall started from the bench as Play off chasing Burnley take on the side just one place ahead of them in the table, Plymouth, an entertaining first half started with French midfield Lillan Nalis slotting home on 12 minutes, but James O’Connor equalised 6 minutes later, before Hungarian wing wizard Peter Halmosi fired home just after the half hour mark.

Halmosi scored again in the second half, to complete a comprehensive defeat.

Mark was introduced on 86 minutes for Chris McCann.

Kieran Gibbs – Norwich 1-0 Barnsley

Kieran Gibbs started as Norwich City played Liverpool’s FA Cup victim’s Barnsley with with both sides trying to keep alive their small chances of making the playoffs, veteran striker Jamie Cureton put the Canneries ahead on 26 minutes.

Kieran went on to complete the full 90 minutes.

Sunday’s Fixtures

Fran Merida Perez – Elche 0-0 Real Sociedad

Fran had to make do with a place on the bench as Real Sociedad took on Elche , he has yet to start since new coach Joserra Eizmendi took over last month. Merida has also been in the papers this week after comments he made about wanting to concentrate on his loan spell, were taken out of context.

“I can’t think about returning to London, because then your head becomes a mess. We’ll see what happens later. I just want to do well with Real.”

In a frustrating game, in which either side could have won, Merida was introduced with 10 minutes left in place of Mikel Aramburu.

Carlos Vela – Osasuna 3-1 Atletico Madrid

Carlos played 89 minutes as Osasuna eased their relegation fears with a 3-1 win over Athletico Madrid, the hosts took the league with just one minute on the clock, Carlos picked out Kike Sola who slotted home.

The lead was then doubled on five minutes Vela on the score-sheet after racing away from the back four and finishing well, but former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan scored to make it 2-1, before sub Hector Font made sure of the win in the second half.

Pedro Bothelo – Salamanca 1-0 Tenerife

Pedro picked up a knee injury two weeks ago and has missed recent games for Salamanca, but after under going a late fitness he was named in the staring lineup as 14th place UD Salamanca took on 9th place Tenerife.

And the on loan Brazilian helped win the game, C.D. Tenerife’s Nino, fouled Pedro as he raced into the area, Quique Martín stepped up and converted the spot kick to hand the Union all three points, the win takes them up to 12th in the table, Tenerife drop to 10th.

Pedro played the full 90 minutes.

Vincent Van Den Berg Go Ahead Eagles 1-3 FC Den Bosch

Vincent has recovered from a long-term injury, and scored his first goal for the Eagles’s Reserves in mid-week, his reward was a place on the bench as the Go Ahead Eagles hosted FC Den Bosch.

Boekhorst gave the home-side the lead before goals from Beekmans, Aborah and Biezden sealed the game, with just 10 minutes left on the clock Vincent came of the bench to make his league debut in place of Sojerd Ars, the home fans gave the 19 year old a fantastic reception, a picture of him in action Here

    good report JS
    so which of our loan players are going to come back and be in the 1st team squad and which of them do you think are going to get permanent moves away from the club?
    btw thanks for answering my questions on carlos vela in the other post.
    1 more question which of the youngsters/reserves are going to get a 1st team squad number like 8, 18, 12, 23 and 28

    Thanks for you continued report Jam Jam, your input makes the blog worthwhile.

    returning is definately Gibbs, Pedro, Vela and Merida they will be first team, the rest will be released, Simpson, Randall, Van Den Berg.

    and its too early to tell.
