Arsenal's Loanees, Weekend Preview

Welcome to Young Guns preview of the weekend’s matches for our seven young players currently out on loan.

Saturday’s Matches

Jay Simpson – Millwall V Port Vale

Jay Simpson is expected to start as Millwall take on bottom side Port Vale, in a good old fashioned relegation dogfight.

Mark Randall – Plymouth V Burnley

Play off chasing Burnley take on the side just one place ahead of them in the table, Plymouth, with Mark Randall expected to feature from the bench.

Kieran Gibbs – Norwich V Barnsley

Norwich City take on, Liverpool’s FA Cup victim’s Barnsley with Arsenal winger Gibbs expected to yet again be on the bench, with both sides trying to keep alive their small chances of making the playoffs.

Sunday’s Fixtures

Fran Merida Perez – Elche V Real Sociedad

Fran has been included in Real Sociedad side to face Elche , he has yet to start since new coach, Joserra Eizmendi took over last month. Merida has also been in the papers this week after comments he made about wanting to concentrate on his loan spell, were taken out of context.

“I can’t think about returning to London, because then your head becomes a mess. We’ll see what happens later. I just want to do well with Real.”

Carlos Vela – Osasuna V Atletico Madrid

Carlos has been named in the squad to face Jose Reyes’s Atletico Madrid side, you can read a in depth match preview ahead of this game, over at Carlos Vela News.

Pedro Bothelo – Salamanca V Tenerife

14th place UD Salamanca take on 9th place Tenerife, Pedro picked up a knee injury two weeks ago, and is expected to under go a late fitness test, but the signs do not look good.

Vincent Van Den Berg – Go Ahead Eagles.

Vincent has recovered from a long-term injury, and scored his first goal for the Eagles’s Reserves in mid-week but he is not expected to be in the squad for Go Ahead Eagles fixture this weekend. [Thanks Joshua.]

    U sure with Van De Berg tough?
    Because I can tell you he’s recoverd from his injury already.
    And the last game he came on as a substitute and scored his first goal for them

    Lol i’m talking to myself but
    Eagles played on friday evening and Van De Berg made his debut 10 minuts before the end of game
