International Week = Scouting Time

This week brings the International break with most of the first team going away with there respective country’s, the Reserves will also loose four of there already small squad for the Under 18’s game on Saturday against Southampton, the following are currently away:

England – Algarve Tournament

Kyle Bartley
Sanchez Watt

France – Algarve Tournament

Gilles Sunu

Holland – Friendly

Nacer Barazite

But with the players away, it offers a chance for some of the coaching staff to go and watch games and look at future transfer targets, despite the fact we have offered scholarship terms to many of the Under 18s, in the summer we are sure to make investments in new youngsters to come and bolster the squad, so where do we need to invest in?

Goalkeeper – with Vito Mannone expected to go on loan next season, cover is needed between the sticks, Wojciech Szczesny should become the number one next term for the Reserves leaving just James Shea as back-up, so i expect another keeper to arrive, possibly Liam O’Brien who has been with the club in recent weeks on trial.

Right Midfield – Jonas Rasmussen has been playing there for the Under 18’s but he is more of a central player, so i expect somebody to arrive who can play on the right, as we have had to play players out of position in recent seasons.

Plus one or two surprises, Arsenal are always on the look out for new talents, so this summer should be an interesting one, with many comings and goings.
