Jay Simpson (90 Minutes)- Millwall 2-1 Southend United
Jay Simpson was given a start yet again for Millwall, but things started off badly, Nick Baily gave Southend the lead on nine minutes, before Jay’s strike partner Gary Alexander grabbed an equaliser on 41 minutes. At half time an injury to Lewis Grabban, meant Ahmet Brkovic came on.
And the momentum stayed with the home side, David Martin put the Lions ahead on 54 minutes, but he was then replaced on 70 minutes by Adrian Forbes.
Things got even worse for Southend when scorer, Baily was sent off for serious foul play, It finished 2-1, Jay played the full 90 minutes.
Kieran Gibbs (58 Minutes)- Norwich 1-1 Hull City
Kieran Gibbs was given his first start for his new loan club, and was handed the number 18 shirt at home to an impressive Hull City who boasted the likes of Jay-Jay Okocha and former England International Nick Barmby.
Veteran striker Dion Dublin gave Norwich an early lead, before on loan Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell brought Hull back in to it on 53 minutes.
Gibbs was replaced on 58 minutes, with former Newcastle winger Matthew Pattison, Jon Ostemobor also came on in place of Matthew Bates, Okocha was starting to run the show, but could not get a goal for the visitors, Darren Huckerby then replaced Lee Croft, and Norwich were looking good for another goal, but as were Hull, former Tottenham winger Dean Marney came on but it finished 1-1. Kieran played 58 minutes.
Mark Randall (2 Minutes)- Queens Park Rangers 2-4 Burnley
Mark Randall started on the bench yet again alongside former Gunner John Spicer for Burnley, against Matthew Connolly’s QPR, former Watford skipper Gavin Mahon gave the home side the lead, before Patrick Agyemang doubled the lead on the half hour mark.
But the visitors came right back into it when former Arsenal striker Andy Cole fired home his second goal in two matches just before half time, an injury to Robbie Blake at half time brought Ade Akinbiyi in to the play, and his cross on 56 minutes, was met by a stunning volley for Cole, his second of the night.
The come back was complete on 77 minutes, when Akinbiyi, then scored, and as QPR pushed for an equaliser, Andy Cole completed his hat-trick and secured all three points for the Clarets, on 89 minutes Mark came on for the hero Cole, John Spicer was also introduced with just seconds left for James O’Connor.
It finished 3-2, Mark played two minutes.

Of what I’ve heard, Gibbs did a really bad game. This is what a “serious” fan of Norwich said after the game;
“Gibbs – 5.5 – obviously needs to learn and with time on the ball he might be great, but was hustled out of the game and hardly had a kick. Ended up playing inside left to try to see the ball.”
Damn, Was Only His Debut I Suppose !
