New Signing Miquel Travels To The Emirates

As we exclusively announced earlier this month, Arsenal have signed 15 year old Spanish defender Ignasi Miquel from Segunda B minnows UD Cornella.

The talented left back/centre back will link up with the club when he turns 16 in October, for a fee of around an initial 500,000 rising to £1 million should he make first team appearances.

But El Mundo Deportivo have today confirmed the starlet will be in London tomorrow to look around the facilities and meet the coaching staff, his third visit to the capital in recent weeks, he firstly came over when Blackburn played Arsenal at the Emirates, he was also given Cesc Fabregas’ shirt, and trained and ate with the first team squad after being put through his paces by Arsene Wenger and the coaching staff.

He traveled to London yesterday, accompanied by his family and also his representative Jose Manuel Gregorio, with the hope of seeing his residence that he will have while at Arsenal initially next season. Ironically enough, this is the same place as both Fran Merida and Cesc Fabregas have lived in previously. He will also visit where he will be studying and talk to the teachers there before watching the Arsenal match tomorrow against Villa at the Emirates.

Cornella’s Sporting Director and President has also been in London and laid the the foundations in “an agreement of collaboration”, meaning we will also use them as a link club, in a similar deal to UD Salamanca, with already news that we may send Pedro there next term.

Miquel starred at the heart of the defence for the Spanish under 16 side in Portugal earlier this year, and he will again link up with his national team next week.

With thanks for the translations to The Arsenal Way

He’ll be good enough I reckon – it’ll take time before we can make any impressions though.

    How good is AW!!!!!!!!!!!!
SAF could learn a thing or two about not being fat and actually having a relationship with his players rather than just cristiano “time to save the scum” ronaldo. (Note: i think cristiano ronaldo is one of the all time greatest…i love him, just hate SAF and the scum :)

COME ON ARSENAL…DO IT FOR EDDY!!
