Just a quick news round-up before a massive preview coming later on the Reserves game against Reading tonight.

Arsenal Chasing Stockport Winger

Arsenal are scouting 18 year old free-scoring Stockport County winger Tommy Rowe, over 60 scouts from various clubs over England and Europe were watching him in recent weeks, with Arsenal having been at everyone of his games this season, a classy elegant forward, who can also play on the left wing, his pace and skills have impressed, and pushed him in to the Stockport first team.

Boss Jim Gannon decided not to use Tommy during the December or January fixtures in a bid to keep away offers for the talent, Gannon also spoke on his ability.

‘Tommy has got everything. Physically he`s a supreme athlete with Premiership fitness. Technically he`s excellent. Tactically he knows exactly how to play the floating winger role and mentally he`s just been able to step up. I`ve said before, and I`ve told him personally, I think he`s got a great future.’

In November, he started against Bradford City, his second full game for the club, and won man of the match, with a very impressive performance, but he didn’t make another start in the team until the Bury game in February – the second match after the transfer window had closed, his first goal for the club came in the 1-1 draw with Notts County, and then he went on to score a fantastic hat-trick in the  4-1 win at Rotherham. Four goals in the last three games, effectively four goals in five starts in the first team.

Rowe started out at Manchester United, before being released as he was “too small”, but now the free-scoring winger is being touted as the new Ryan Giggs, but with Arsenal being famous for developing talents, Rowe would be hard pressed to reject the draw of the Gunners.

Yep, I read about Rowe on another blog which i suppose is a ‘cheap imitation’ of yours. He looks like a good prospect, but will we get him?
