Websites Showing Eduardo's Injury Are A Disgrace

Graphic Made Exclusively For Young Guns.

I know this blog is all about Arsenal Reserves and Youth news, but today i am making a stand.

After visiting the news-wire’s to find out if Eduardo’s surgery has been successful (which today we have learnt is), and to see if he could play again, i have been bombarded with blog’s/websites, showing exclusive pictures, videos and angles of the tragic moment.

The worst part is they are nearly all Arsenal websites, this is an absolute disgrace that people cannot find anything worth while to write about, other than taking advantage of one of our own at one of his worst times.

Now I’m not having ago at the people who have left him best wishes or thought of what will happen without him, because they are being kind or offering perspective’s of how we will cope, but i mean the people who have shown the type of “graphic” images that BBC, Sky and Setanta have refused to show.

It’s just a lack of respect and class, anyway my heart goes out to Eduardo, he is a lovley bloke, and does not deserve the despicable manner in which Martin Taylor, and some of the websites have treated him.

Anyway, a proper article coming in about an hour’s time.

I agree, and what i also find despicable is the photo showing Martin Taylor smirking, as Eduardo was laying on the floor in pain.

I think it’s important that the images are made available so people can see the kind of damage such an appalling challenge can cause.

This was not an accident, and shouldn’t be brushed under the rug.

    Couldn’t disagree more.

These pictures should be shown again and again no matter how distasteful. In fact they should be made into a poster and pinned up in every dressing room in the country, including the referee’s rooms.

Something has to change and the jolly old English up and at ’em spirit needs to be shown up as the thuggery that it is.

Also I’d point out that this article is jumping on the same bandwagon that you imply they are. Surely by publishing what you admit to not being a ‘proper article’ you’re also ‘taking advantage of one of our own’.

Finally, do you think for one second that the images wouldn’t have been shown on tv again and again (with real condemnation of the tackle) if it had been the sainted Rooney that was the victim of the assault? They are trying to brush this under the carpet with comments like ‘he’s not that sort of player’ and that must not be allowed to happen.

Maybe one website showing the images, but when nearly every site does it, it becomes a joke.

I agree wholeheartedly with the previous comment. It’s not about getting hits on their sites, they really do care and are sick of the thuggery that plagues the English game. If the fans don’t stand up and spread the word and SHOW the serious repercussions this behavior and style of play can cause, then we’re just as bad as the pundits who won’t take a second look and call it what it was.

Watch this (if you can handle it) and tell me that it was sloppy. This is proof that play like this is being shrugged off because no one’s got the guts to issue some reform.

I find that to be a contradiction of terms, mate. People care about their team, and what else are we going to write/talk/be f*cking outraged about? It’s got to get out somehow; somewhere

    cheers.

If there’s one positive thing that can come out of these graphic photos of Eduardos horrendous injury, then I hope it is that all have seen what can happen if we continue with this english mentality of ‘get stuck in’ ‘get in their faces’ ‘let ’em know what we’re all about’
It’s one thing closing the opposition down, not giving them time on the ball, we saw a wonderful example of that during the Ars v Milan match, no crashing into players with studs showing, but tackles won all over the pitch by hard work and good reading of the game.
No wonder we have to look abroad for our national side, our coaches are so insular and blinkered.
The way to beat the likes of Arsenal is by improving yourselves and trying to raise your standards to their levels. If you just try to adopt the negative approach you will only ever get limited occasional successes and they will be short lived.
Wise up all you coaches and players and fans out there, there’s a big lesson needs to be learnt and this awful incident should give you all food for thought.

I disagree with the article. I feel the images should be seen because they expose the lies & distortions of the birmingham city manager & 90pcnt of the UK media who as we speak are all rallying round Taylor testifying to what a lovely bloke he is. It doesn’t matter whether he intended to break Ed’s leg or not, the injury is the result of dangerous play, is completely avoidable & Taylor should accept responsibility, the FA should hand down a long suspension as a signal that this will not be tolerated. This of course will not happen, its being essentially ignored & the footage & images not being seen is helping this cover up.

Its time to call a spade a soade and not try to hide behind smoke screens. I suggest T-shirts showing very clear pictures of the tackle be printed and gooners wear them at all away matches. The mind set and the approach really has to change.

I think your logic is wrong.

These images need to be seen, the outcome of dangerous tackles shouldn’t be brushed under the carpet as Sky have done.

Worse injuries have been shown on TV before this one, David Buust’s for example.

The images need to be shown, especially in the context of a media circus in which there are many people defending the tackle.

Until these pictures became common currency, there was no effective challange to the Tailor/McLeish defence “I hardly touched him yer honour (and the red card was harsh)”.

Now they are in the public domain, thanks to the blgs, and the BBC, the danger and power of a studs up straight leg challenge can be clearly seen. Time to take off the ‘Mans Game’ blinkers!

    @ j sanderson.

People read different sites. Some people rely on only one site for their Arsenal news. Also if it’s so dispicable to show them then whether it’s one or all makes absolutely no difference.

I do genuinely think you’ve got a very good site here, but you’re way off the mark on this one in my opinion.

your so wrong, most have’nt seen the assault and when alex Mcleish tells everyone its on the floor these websites show his lies .it was a foot high,Stephen Kelly He said: “It was harsh Tiny (Taylor) being sent off. Tiny has gone in and it wasn’t a malicious tackle and the reason the ref has sent him off is because he has seen Eduardo has broken his leg.
I don’t think you can send a player off for that. That’s football. It can happen. It is an accident. Tiny didn’t go in two-footed. He didn’t lunge. He didn’t dive in.

In this case I feel the images needed to be seen, not so much by Arsenal fans but by pundits, journalists and rival fans to hammer home how serious it was.

Before the images surfaced I read several postings by rival fans saying it was just a normal leg break and that Arsenal are cry babies.

Even ex-pros like david platt came out and said the tackle looks like no more than a yellow card, steve bruce said there was minimal contact, mcliesh came out and said taylor got his ankle.

All of these foolish people must be made to think seriously about their comments and sometimes it takes seeing horrific pictures to change some stubborn peoples minds.

the picture of the tackle that Taylor proved their shameful comment that he went after the ball very wrong, you can see the ball is not even close. It is important to hit hard on these tackles whether you show the pictures or not. It was a disgrace and a player that has become better and better during his time now is in risk of his career.

More important is the future. It is important the supporters stand by Eduardo and give him support in his recovery. He has got a long way to go and need all the support he can get.

As an Arsenal fan deeply saddened by Eduardo’s injuries and sickened by the images of the tackle and their aftermath, I am nevertheless grateful that, thanks to the internet, we are able to see exactly what happened. But for the video and photographs available on other sites, those of us who did not see the game would have to rely on the descriptions of the incident filtered through the often biased lens of other commentators. So, I for one, am glad to be able to view the incident for myself.

    Nonsense, absolute nonsense!
What point is there to censoring what happened?
The photos show the harsh REALITY of the incident. Censorship in this case only succeeds in protecting Martin Taylor. I’m not suggesting that had any intentions of ending Eduardo’s career, but it was a shockingly reckless and clearly dangerous tackle. That tackle is a perfect example of the attitude of trying to rough up Arsenal and by not showing it you only protect the old english tradition in football. This sort of shit needs to be stamped out of football. And by the way, nobody censored David Bussts injury, or Haalands, to mention only couple of many. It still happens….that’s the REALITY of football

I completely and wholeheartedly disagree. Had it not been for those pictures, MORE people would agree with the BBC and Sky commentators who brushed off the injury. If you’ll remember, one even said “that’s not even a yellow card!”

Those images are incredibly important for not only fans to see but players, coaches, and broadcasters alike. We all need to understand why overly aggressive behaviour should not be seen as “getting in the game” or being “manly”, but rather, it’s a potentially career ending mistake.

As far as I’ve seen, no one is using the images as a way to celebrate gratuitous violence, but rather it’s a way to show how this could happen to ANY player, ANY time.

Please- off with the high horse, and look at the big picture, which is about preventing this sort of reckless play.

Care to understand how difficult healing a double compound fracture can be?

The media are now trying to make a noise about other issues to deflect away from this incident.

We have morons like kelly saying Wenger’s comments were “disgraceful”.

What’s actually “disgraceful” is his attempts to excuse taylor’s behaviour.

The media are resonsible, as are the fa and the refs for allowing this.

They are now having a go at Billy, and some mary poppins Gooners are swallowing it whole.

Billy might only have been with us a for a short while, but his heart is exacltly where it should be.

This is just an attempt by idiots like howard to try and blame someone at Arsenal for something to deflect from the fact that this tackle WAS malicious.

They didn’t show the incident becasue they didn’t want people to see it for what it was.

“Getting in his face” IS malicious. He might not have intended to break Eduardo’s leg, but it WAS malicious, and the despicable “pundits” like hanson are trying to sweeo it under the carpet.

We cant let them get away with it. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE.

By gigling about it, sniggering about it, telling everyone “Arsenal don’t like it up ’em”, they are DIRECTLY responsible for both Diaby’s and Eduardo’s injuries.

THAT’S why they’re trying to cover it up.

It’s time to tear them a new one.

Let’s get hanson and his ilk out of the studio and into the street. gutter where they belong.

in retrospect of viewing the incident with Eduardo I understand your article. I see the reactions of people and how they surround it as something fascinating and hating Taylor, rather than giving Eduardo the support he needs. All Gooners should stand behind him now, he has a long way to go and need the cheers more than ever. I could see how Taylor looked like he had seen his worst nightmare, it was a stupid act and all are saddened by this. It was a matter of time as tackles like this sadly happens too much. Hating Taylor will not benefit but disrupt the team, they need support now.
