Arsenal V Cardiff – Under 18's – Match Preview

Arsenal’s Under 18’s take on Cardiff Under 18’s tomorrow morning, at London Colney, with Steve Bould’s boys looking to put last weeks disappointing defeat to Chelsea behind them, and get back on track, as they look to seal a place in the play-offs meaning we will have a fantastic chance to win the title.

Cardiff are bottom of group B, with just 14 points, and having let in 56 goals, the second worse in the division, means Arsenal are the firm favourites, as they are second in group A, with two games in hand, and can welcome back a host of names as Bould is set to switch the side again to guarantee all three points.

Since the turn of the year, Arsenal have struggled against recent opponents after previously beating teams for fun earlier in the season, but tomorrow offers a chance to get bang in form, ahead of the final run it.

The team news ahead of the game is as follows, we are missing Henri Lansbury (Glandular Fever) Sanchez Watt (Unknown) and Oliver Nicholas (Foot) all out injured, with Luke Freeman, Sam Byles, Emmanuel Frimpong, Gilles Sunu and Nacer Barazite all back from international duty meaning a strong looking side will face the Welsh outfit.

However we will be missing Vito Mannone and Kerrea Gilbert (Inelgible), and Thomas Cruise, Kyle Bartley and Jack Wilshere are still with England Under 17’s but Wojciech Szczesny is back after being on the bench for Poland Under 21’s against England Under 21’s. so i would expect a side similar to this.

Szczesny
Blackwood – G.Hoyte – Thomas [c] – Evina
Eastmond – Frimpong – Dunne – Freeman
Barazite – Murphy

he has played there in a 4-2-3-1, and with no Sanchez Watt and Jay Thomas out wide i expect to play there again.

I’d say Sunu and Rasmussen in, Dunne and Murphy on the bench. Those two have been playing every res/youth match last couple of weeks.

Maybe Mate, Rasmussen will need time to develop and get used to things, and Sunu has had an injury recently
