Mexican prodigy Carlos Vela is expected to be ruled out of Mexico’s friendly against Ghana at Fulham’s Craven Cottage on Wednesday after picking up an injury in training.
The 19 year old pulled up at Tajonar (CA Osasuna Pamplona training head-quarters) ahead of his loan club Osasuna’s game this weekend against Real Betis, many Gooners had bought tickets for the game, to see Vela in front of their very own eyes, however the thigh injury is a difficult one to predict and means he could miss the encounter, coach Jose Angel Ziganda admits it is a huge blow to his side in their relegation dog fight:
“We must wait for tomorrow, then we make a decision about the match on Sunday. Carlos is very important for us, he is a key man for our team with his ability on the left side”.
However in the managers press conference yesterday Ziganda confirmed things had not improved and if risked long term damage could be done to Carlos.
“It is very hardly for Carlos to be able to play on Sunday, the chance is still there, but I know the risk and danger to lost him for a month as minimum , if I push him back in the team, so we must wait but it is necessary to wait on tomorrow morning for a decision from the medical staff, if he will be available or not to play Betis, but it cannot be decided at the moment”.”.

I hope Wenger’s had a word. We sure as hell don’t want our player’s fitness put at risk by their loan side’s manager taking risks on him.
maybe mate, but Wenger will have more important things to worry about ahead of this weekend’s games.
Wouldnt want him risked even if i was going to the match..
we’ll buy palladino?
not sure mate, i very much doubt it, we have so many forward players.
Was thinking about getting some tickets for this match, some top players on show but the main one I wanted to see was Vela. People in the Spanish and English media have built him up and I would of loved to see him live and in the flesh… I’m sure that day will come in the next couple of seasons when he comes back to Arsenal
built him up as a superstar *
