Loanees News – Simpson & Van Den Berg Score

Welcome to Young Guns reports of tonight’s matches for two of our seven young players currently out on loan.

You can read more about how loaning works, as well as catch up on any reports you may have missed in our loanee’s section Here

Jay Simpson – Swansea City 1-2 Millwall

Swansea City: de Vries, Austin, O’Leary, Tate, Bodde, Britton, Pratley, Scotland, Robinson, Rangel, Butler.

Subs: MacDonald, Bauza, Way, Brandy, Burgin.

Millwall: Evans, Senda, Frampton, Dunne, Robinson, Whitbread, Laird, Alexander, Grabban, Simpson, Fuseini.

Subs: Edwards, Smith, Martin, Savage, Bakayogo.

Jay Simpson started on the right of midfield as Millwall took the long trip up to Wales to take on Swansea.

The home side were boosted with striker Jason Scotland passed fit to start, on loan Manchester United striker Febian Brandy took a place on the bench, Brandy was a part of the Red Devils youth team that knocked Arsenal out of the Youth cup last season, in which Simpson was the Gunners skipper.

And they got the perfect start, with barely a minute on the clock Lewis Grabban slotted him his third goal in as many matches in a tight encounter.

But little being created, the Swans introduced the fore-mentioned Brady for Kevin O’Leary, but the visitors would double there advantage, and i would Arsenal’s loanee who would get it, firing home with 20 minutes left.

But Swansea would get right back into it, a foul in the box allowed Trinidad & Tobago striker Jason Scotland the chance to half the lead, he stepped up and converted, 2-1 with 15 minutes left.

Jay was then booked for kicking the ball away as nervous Millwall held on for all three points.

Vincent Van Den Berg – Go Ahead Eagles 4-2 FC Zwolle

Vincent Van Den Berg was on target for the Eagles Reserve side in midweek, the Dutchman started up front and played the full 90 minutes in the 4-2 win.

Aldo Joaquim, put the Eagles ahead, before Leonardo equalised, Rogier Gerritse then restored the lead, before Vincent slotted home to make it 3-1.

However a goal from Sjors Brugge (Penalty) made things 3-2, before Koen Garritsen wrapped up the win late on.

The first team, do not have a fixture this weekend.

Remember to check by tomorrow around 5pm for reports on, Mark Randall, Kieran Gibbs, Carlos Vela, Fran Merida and Pedro Bothelo.

Van Den Berg scores, but i doubt he’ll have a future at Arsenal.

As for Simpson, well he looks like a good player but i don’t think he’ll ever be Premier League class.

    Another good post Jay!

Ashley Young was exceptional in the Championship and attracted many admiring glances. Including our own scouting eyes, poor comparison.
