Party Attitude Could Ruin Arsenal's Henri Lansbury

Henri Lansbury, is one of, if not Arsenal’s biggest prospect, a classy, strong, aggressive, goalscoring central midfielder, as well as a regular at England youth level.

However injuries have been the main downfall of the 17 year olds rise to fame, which have led some people to compare him to Steven Gerrard and David Beckham, impressive for such a young player. This season has seen him become a regular for the Reserves, and he has added a new attack influence to his already awesome game, 8 goals so far including a hat-trick against Burnley have meant Arsene Wenger has included him on the bench for Carling Cup games as well as saying he would be a first team player next season.

But at the end of January, Lansbury contracted Glandular Fever, also known as the “kissing disease” which has symptoms of fever, sore throat, muscle soreness, and fatigue, and was expected to keep him out for two months, (he is expected to return next month), training has proved almost impossible as exercise can lead to muscle tearing so a disappointing spell of the sidelines has been due.

Frustratingly news has reached Young Guns, that Henri, who is known for his party lifestyle (and whats wrong with that? he is a young boy who wants to enjoy himself), has been spotted at London nightclub “Maze” despite having the illness and missing games drinking and partying, over the past two weekends, leading many fans to disappointment over his attitude.

I’m not having a go at Lansbury, but he a exceptional talent, and in my opinion attitude is a massive part of being a professional footballer, Wenger dumped Quincy and David Bentley over their attitudes, and i worry unless Henri changes his, he will go down the same route.

Drinking and partying has ruined not just players, but also other sportsmen, with recent news coming last week about Norwich City’s Matthew Pattison, who is nicknamed “Party” being caught drink driving trying to drive to training after a night out.

In other news, big well done to Carlos Vela News, who has been included in NewsNow, today they report on Carlos’s press conference from yesterday.

I was on his MySpace the other day and was reading some comments and loads were like ‘last Friday was sick man’ or ‘we meeting this saturday’, shit like that.

His picture is of hi at a party too and as he’s one of the our hottest prospects, I also worry that he isn’t going to make it unless he pulls his finger out.

It will be a shame if his career turns into that of Pennant, and the afore-mentioned Bentley and Quincy, he seems a real prospect. However, the beauty of the system is that for every one that turns down the wrong path there is always another ready to take his place.

Hleb for Bentley, Clichy for Cole, Walcott/Ade for Quincy.

If Lansbury does not make it, there is always a wealth of talent behind him pressing for the first team, such as Wilshere, etc.

That said, I hope that we don’t lose him, he may have a bright future in front of him, and to see him play for relegation fodder because of poor attitude would be a sad sight.

    Glandular Fever?

What kind of scatty women has he been hanging around?

Lets hope he doesn’t do a Jermain Pennant on us!

I never understand why these kids with promising careers would want to party right now when they could just become world beaters by being more restraint!

It is hard to win over fans if you are not playing but seen out on the town. He should worry more on getting better, however after having Glandular fever when I was younger it can stay with you for over 18 months. I still played sport but was tired the whole time. From memory I am sure I would not have been out late, as I would be asleep early. There is plenty of time to party once he has made it and in the close season

i personally know and am a friend of henri and he sacrifices alot of his personale life for his career. this is all thats exepected from someone with such a talent but he is still very young and he is still learning. he’s certainly not the party animal he is being made out to be and everytime ive been out with him he does not drink and is always home by a resonable hour !!

Going on on a saturday is not bad, you can catch alot of our 1st teamers out on the tiles in mayfair they are the party animals. From what I hear most of the reseves and academy lads are very quiet and you can’t expect him to stay home on his xbox every night or he’ll also add cabin fever to his glandular fever.

Nice article but I really recommend you proof read before you submit articles, as some of the structure of this article is very strange, e.g:

“Frustratingly news has reached Young Guns, that, Henri, who is known for his party lifestyle, and whats wrong with that?”

Great to hear. A lot of us have immense hopes for Henri and are keeping our fingers crossed he can make it into the first team next year. He has all the qualities we look for at the Arsenal. So long as he keeps his focus, I have no doubt he’ll have a long and very successful career ahead of him in red and white.

If Arsene Wenger thought his alleged lifestyle was hurting his playing career he would put a stop to it but he has not so that should tell what you wish to know,

also some people need to get a life and stop stalking Henri Lansbury and others on MySpace and Face book and rating them out on forums because it is quiet pathetic, also going to a club once a week and sleeping with football groupies is hardly the biggest crime in the world is it, because we would all do it in his position if we had the chance, also considering what the likes of Tony Adams and Paul Merson used to get up to eg Drugs, Booze and gambling etc etc, shaging birds and going out to a club once a week like Henri Lansbury is supposed to be doing is not even in the same league is it IMO

This is why England will never win the World Cup. All our players have the same attitude (flash, look at me im a footballer). We need to be more professional or give them £300 a week instead of £30,000. Maybe bring them back down to earth a little.

if there is ever a time for players to party, it would be when you pick up a rather long injury, dont you think? It would be far more irresponsible to party when you’re playing the day after tomorrow. And he’s just 17, a bit of partying isn’t really THAT bad, as long as he doesn’t let it take priority over his football

With all due respect – he was leaving Maze in Grosvenor Square – which is actually a Gordon Ramsey restaurant.

Rather him having ‘one too many one too many’s’ in a restaurant over dinner than sh*gging birds in Face’s toilet like the Spud’s do!

No offence but who are your sources???

Unless you were out with him, or have photographic evidence, i suggest you put this down as nothing more than hearsay.

Ive met the lad a few tiems, he works extremly hard and is not a droinker, hes 17 years old and probably got board of sitting at home, give the kid a break!

So long as his performances dont suffer on the pitch, its nobody’s business what he does off it!

He was actually in Maze Inn Nightclub/Pub in Southgate North London, and has been every friday and saturday night in March. I would know cause I work there. I don’t want to get into a debate about whether its right or not, but he has been drinking alcohol. Arsenal have given him an opportunity to train at one of the best training grounds in the world, be coached by the best coaches in the world, but yet him and many others want to throw it down the drain. The difference of some of the young english players and the foreigners is massive, especially in cultural terms. People are saying that they need to go out. No they dont. If Henri wanted to do out and do a 9-5 job, then go drinking then thats not a problem, but he has been given the opportunity to make it as a professional footballer, and he has chosen to go down this path, so I dont think we should feel sorry for him if he dosen’t go out. He needs football more that football needs him.

we are all fans of Henri, and want the best for him i am not as you put it hating, i am just a little concerned that he may ruin his amazing talents.

I am a massive fan of Henri, and im sure he will be an important player for both England and Arsenal.
