Welcome to Young Guns reports of the weekends matches for all of our six young players currently out on loan.

You can read more about how loaning works, as well as catch up on any reports you may have missed in our loanee’s section Here.

Millwall 0-2 Leeds United

After getting on the score sheet  last week, Jay Simpson started again on the right wing as Millwall hosted promotion chasing Leeds in a volatile encounter at The New Den.

It seemed before kick off Millwall were safe from relegation, however with results not going their way a win was essential but it did not come.

David Prutton fired home on 70 minutes, and things were made worse when Andy Hughes struck nine minutes later. Simpson was two chances from long range as they looked for a come back, but it was not enough.

Jay played 90 minutes.

Southampton 0-1 Burnley

Mark Randall was not included in the squad which faced relegation threatened Southampton, Scotland international Steven Caldwell bagged the only goal on 48 minutes.

The win rejuvenates Burnley’s play off push.

Norwich City 1-2 West Albion

Kieran Gibbs was given a rare start as Norwich City hosted promotion chasing West Brom, they made the worst possible start when Roben Koren fired home after 2 minutes, in a miserable first half.

Things were made worse after the break when Zoltan Gera fired home, 3 minutes later Kieran was subbed off, and then Ched Evans smashed home a penalty to give brief hopes of a come back..

But it finished 2-1, Kieran Gibbs played 74 minutes

Osasuna 0-1 Deportivo La Coruna

Carlos Vela was looking to build on his return from suspension and injury problems, as Osasuna hosted Deportivo La Coruna.

Vela started brightly first having a left footed drive well saved, and then playing Enrique Corrales in to shoot however that was also saved.

The game was dogged by fouls many of which were committed by Carlos as he tried to get his side going, Osasuna bossed the first half with several good chances being missed, Plasil and Punal were running the show but failed to score.

However in the second half Deportivo would snatch a goal, Cesar Cruchaga gave away a penalty and Sergio converted from 12 yards.

Despite a late rally, it finished 1-0 Vela played the full 90 minutes

UD Salamanca 3-0 Elche

Pedro Botelho was left out of the squad as UD Salamanca beat promotion chasing Elche 3-0, in an impressive away win, which all but keeps them in the Segunda division for next season.

Two first half goals from fans favourite Quique Martín, got things going before a second half strike from David Rguez wrapped up the points on 67 minutes.

In other news, Pedro will be staying with Salamanca for next season as we reported in midweek.
