Arsenal's On Loan Vela Favours Arsenal Return

On loan Mexican striker Carlos Vela hosted Osasuna’s press conference this afternoon at the clubs Tajonar training complex in Spain, with the main topic as usual his Arsenal future, however there were developments in midweek when it emerged Osasuna officials had flown to London in a bid to activate the clause in Vela’s contract for the 19 year old to spend next term on loan, something Gunners chief Arsene Wenger is thought to have rebuffed, Carlos confirmed he is happy at the moment, but would prefer to join Arsenal in the summer:

“I have not talked with anybody, that includes Osasuna officials as well as Arsenal officials plus my Representatives (agent) for the moment.

I believe that they would ask for me for my opinion [On His Future]. If I do not have the opportunity to go back to Arsenal, I would not mind staying here. A very good option would be to stay at Osasuna for another year, if I cannot join Arsenal, but of course Arsenal is my first option. I am very happy here, but the first and most important thing, is to remain in La Liga,

I know the city and the team. I am with all what is related to Osasuna and if they were to talk with Arsenal they would tell it me.”

Vela also confirmed he will return to the starting line up against Espanyol this weekend, and also admitted that he is certain Osasuna will be playing La Liga football next term saying:

“I can tell you there will not be any problems for the team to play in Primera Liga next season.”

“It is not going to be easy but we will push for the results until the last game. Our team are very talented, but lots of others are in the same situation. Our players have qualities and sooner or later the ball will enter the net. We attackers have a lot of responsibilities but it is a team thing.”

“All the rivals are dangerous and this a little more. We need more points that they do so we have to show them what we are made of.”

I think it is time that Arsene Wanker takes a long hard look at himself after last nights game because he is always comming out with stupid excuses as to why we cannot go to the next level

This would seriously piss me off if he stays at Osasuna for another season.

We need more players of Carlos’ calibre, and I know most Gooners were looking foward to him playing in the team next season.

    COME ON YOU GUNNERS!

i think AW mistake last night was when flamini went off , he should have put on walcott, stuck him on the left and given diaby the flamini role. We are still yet to see the best of diaby, he would have been more than a match for mascherano

I am fast losing confidence in Wenger. He has screwed us over this season but so long as the club are making huge profits of us he’ll be considered a success by the board. In order to restore my faith Wenger needs to –
    1) spend every penny available this Summer on quality proven players (Micah Richards, Ben Arfa, Huntelaar, top my list).
    2) Stop relying on youth. The level of play has gone up in the PL, if Championship teams struggle after promotion, its clear that reserve and youth players will struggle.
    3) Stop playing certain players out of position, eg: last night Eboue should have started at RB with Theo on the right to begin with. When Flamini came off Diaby should have gone to the middle, Hleb to the right and RvP bought to partner Ade.

Will Wenger learn from any of this? No, I doubt it because his arrogance and pride have taken over. He wants to prove that we can win the league with kids and rough diamonds while ManYoo, Chelski, Liverpool and even the Spuds will out spend us on decent, quality players in order to achieve success. I am not against bringing kids up from the reserves/academy however this should be done in conjunction with the purchase of proven, experienced players who can add something from day 1 in order to give the kids time to adapt to the Premiership.

Another season without a trophy and I think the calls for Wenger to go will grow a lot, lot louder.

Not going to happen imo, Carlos looks like he’ll return nxt season, wenger already said so and i think wenger only didnt strengthen wings was for him, and i doubt even he would leave us with 1 injury prone attacking mid,a right back, nd a CM as our starting wing options for more than a season after what happened this season. Diaby did well yesterday though.

yea i agree diaby should of gone in the middle and theo on the left but i feel disapointed with wenger with his team selection but no to micah richards he’s not a good defender he miss judges alot yes to ben afra but the joke is the players everyone wants are still under the age of 24 but i think diego, ben afra, its a big ask but robinho and a strong quick centre back

What you all try to say is that you’re better coaches than Wenger, i think he knows football a little bit better than you guys!

If Wenger knows football why do we only have 2 wins out of the last 12? Sure his past achievements speak loud and clear however Arsenal under Wenger are in danger of becoming the next Liverpool, ie: a team constantly bleating on about their former glory and showing flashes of potential but nothing more.

I have more chance of winning the National Lottery jackpot two weeks in a row than Bojan Krkic Perez ever playing for Arsenal and as for Ricardo Quaresma he would cost well over £20 Million pounds to by and Arsene Wenger would/will never spend that amount of money on a football player also i think that Ricardo Quaresma is nothing more than a poor man’s Christiano Ronaldo IMO

i agree with Kent Paul. It would be easier to get C. Ronaldo or Messi then it is to get Bojan.

Thank god some of you are not in charge of our club. We would have no money, an unsettled squad and expensive signings that take upto six months to settle to the premiership and our way of football, that if it wasn’t for the ref would have been talked about all over the back pages and on this forum. I find some of you very short sited and inpatient. This squad could still be our best yet.

Thierry Henry was a great great great football player for us but i do not want him back for several reasons, and they are he is not the player he used to be and his ego was getting out of control especialy the last two seasons he was here at Arsenal, and i personally think he was stunting the groath of our young players because the were all intimedated by him IMO
