Arsenal have confirmed French striker Gilles Sunu has signed a two year professional contract with the Gunners despite making only 11 appearances at Reserve and Youth level this season and failing to get on the score sheet.
Gilles started his first Reserves game on Monday night, and after putting in a hard working performance, he failed to win over many Gooners after previously being dubbed the new “Thierry Henry” however boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will stick with Sunu and keep faith in him.
“Gilles is a hard-working and very physical striker who showed exceptional talent when we scouted him,” said the manager. “He has been injured a little bit this season but we hope to see the best of him next year.
After impressing for French minnows Châteauroux, Barcelona, Chelsea and Man Utd had been interested in the physical forward but Arsenal moved first, quickly opening talks, and agreeing a fee of around £950.000 rising to £1.5 Million based on appearance’s and goals, but convincing the shy youngster to up root from his quiet family life would prove to be something different, Grimandi was new to the scouting business but he travelled to the Sunu family home and after explaining the Gunners plans to turn him in to a world class player, a deal was done, the 15 year old would link up with Arsenal when he turned 16 (March 2007), he was also advised by his father Manu a former professional footballer himself.
Wenger has confirmed that Gilles will be a big player in the future, and it seems he favours him over free scoring Rhys Murphy:
“We brought him last summer and we hope he can fulfil his potential here. We feel he is one for the future first-team at Arsenal Football Club.”
Liam Brady is also apparently in talks with Henri Lansbury over an extended contract with the club, meaning Wenger is certain to push Gilles and Henri into his Carling Cup plans for next season.

Quality Post.
It’s a heavy weight on you’re shoulders when you’re dubbed the “next henry”. But hopefully Sunu can prove to be as good or matbe even better than him, his goalscoring stats certainly don’t show that though.
*maybe
Is Rhys Murphy under a proffessional contract? and if not how long has his contract got left to run? If he hasnt been given a pro contract i’d b very surprised as he seems like a great young talent.
Rhys signed a scholarship contract in the summer, like Gilles, Rhys’s deal would finish at the end of next season.
ah kl do u think he is likely to be offered another one or let go? cause he seems to score a hell of alot of goals

if we let him go, it will be the biggest mistake Arsenal have made, Murphy is a superb talent, natural finisher and a super talent.
That doesn’t diminish the fact that he’s a chelsea fan
Who Murphy or Sunu?
It doesnt matter which club they support, as long as they do well for Arsenal when they pull on the red and white
Lansbury is pissing off to Chelsea
Where did you hear that Lansbury was going to Chelski? I have high hopes for him at Arsenal and I’d be really disappointed if he left.
How tall is he?
181cm
Murphy btw, Sunu’s an arsenal fan
Apparently, he is unhappy with his wages, so has told his agent to find him a new club
