Welcome to Young Guns transfer news round up, bringing you all the latest rumors on who could be coming in, and of course who could be leaving, as this blog is about Arsenal’s Reserves and Youth, we will only cover the young players linked with us.
Today, we cover Spanish striker Dani Aquino, Racing Santander central defender Ezequiel Garay, Lyon play-maker Clement Grennier as well as update you on Jonathan de Guzman.
We also talk about possible players who could go to Ajax, should the Gunners and the Dutch giants agree a partnership.
Dani Aquino
Arsenal are said to have joined the race for Real Murcia’s teenage striker Daniel Aquino Pintos known simply as Dani Aquino, many rate the 17 year old Spanish Under 17’s International as the new Fernando Torres, due to his pacy powerful play and stylish finishing, however Real Madrid are thought to be in pole position for the talented forward as they hold first refusal on his signature, but sources close to Dani claim he is wary about joining Madrid as he would not get first team football guaranteed.
But with Arsenal close to setting up a deal with Osasuna, the Gunners would offer a more attractive option, as we could sign him and then loan him out until he is ready to fight for a first team place.
Ezequiel Garay
Racing Santander central defender Ezequiel Garay, has spoken after claims Arsenal along with Manchester United have made approaches for the highly rated Argentina international.
Reports have emerged in recent months that Barcelona had agreed a fee for his services, however that was quickly quashed and now Garay admits despite wanting a move, he does not mind which club he is sold to:
“I am calm,”These questions are for my agent and the club, but it is normal that I wish to progress in my career.
“If a big offer finally arrives, then I do not have a preference about a concrete destination.”
In other news, a player we talked about last month Jonathan de Guzman is set to be sold in the summer, with Arsenal remaining a huge interest.
Clement Grennier
Arsenal have been rebuffed in their attempts to sign Lyon’s Clement Grennier, the 17 year old was a part of the same French team as Gilles Sunu recently, and has caught the eye of France based scout Giles Grimandi in recent weeks, and with news that he is yet to sign a Pro contract with the French champions, a deal looked on the cards.
However Lyon has moved quickly to deny the claims he could be on his way to the Gunners:
Speaking to The Sun, the source said:
“Wenger is very impressed but Lyon told him to forget it.
“They want him to stay here a few years as they expect to be able to get a huge transfer fee for him.”
Barazite/Denilson/Traore/Song
With Arsenal set to team up with Ajax in the summer, and new coach Marco Van Basten eyeing some of the Young Gunners he could take on loan, there is fresh speculation around that Dutch striker Nacer Barazite could be going back to Holland to earn some experience, other names such as Denilson, Alex Song and Armand Traore have been thrown around, but with Traore expected to join Portsmouth in the summer he should be out of the question, however the others would all get something positive from a spell with the Dutch giants.

Traore to porstmouth?
On loan? Source?
no link, just wait and see
we need traore as backup to clichy
of all the rumours which is the more likely?
Is Traore going to be sold or is it a loan?
On loan or the season to Portsmouth, and Gallas and Justin Hoyte can cover at left back, as well as Pedro.
song dont need a loan i think he should be trying to get in the first team but i hope traore goes on loan he needs 1st team football!!
J.sanderson have you heard about some player were linked with from the spanish team murica i think thats how you spell it lol
i think justin will go in the summer
so will pedro be with us then next season?and how do you rate him?
the guy in the center looks like pato!!
Yes Lance, if oyu read above, the Mercia player is Dani Aquino, and Pedro is doing very well in Spain, but he needs some more game time.
and yeah haha, Fonte does look abit like him.
Hope Barazite doesnt go on loan… surely he could play some part next season?? especially in the Carling Cup! Maybe Denilson could do with a loan spell, i never see him playing and hes always injured.
lol oright i didn’t see that but thanks anyway
Sunu signs pro terms with Arsenal
Gilles Sunu has signed professional terms with Arsenal Football Club.
The 17-year-old French striker arrived at Emirates Stadium last summer after moving from Chateauroux. Injury has restricted him to only 11 appearances at Reserve and Youth level this season but Arsène Wenger has ear-marked him as one for the future.
“Gilles is a hard-working and very physical striker who showed exceptional talent when we scouted him,” said the manager. “He has been injured a little bit this season but we hope to see the best of him next year.
“We brought him last summer and we hope he can fulfil his potential here. We feel he is one for the future first-team at Arsenal Football Club.”
Barazite will benefit from a loan spell alright.
Traore? I dunno would like to see him getting some time, playing LM.
Deni hasnt being up to much this season and it does take Brazilians time to settle, see Edu, so ya to Denis loan but no to Song for me, as he will get plenty game time.
Maybe Djorou loan/sale

yea i agree with rockypires
Any updates on Lansbury, Gibbs, Randall and Simpson and whether they will be in the First Team next year or else loaned out or sold on?
I dont think any of the players you mentioned will be here next season, Maybe Lansbury, but the rest i doubt it.
Wenger said a couple of months back that Gibbs would be in the 1st team next season.
J., how do you rate the possibility of Garay joining the club? Didn’t he already sign with Barca? Best regards from Arsenal Supporters Club Bulgaria.
ive heard about this aquino before and heard he is very very talented
Garay confirmed he did not agree terms with Barcelona, it was typical Spanish newspapers, they hype things up.
i dont think he would join another Spanish club, so that would put us in a good situation, however his injury problems would be a problem.
Surely Traore should stay and compete considering that he has also impressed this season (he was good against Liverpool and from what you’ve said about him in the reserves he has seemed to perform very well).
It’d be harder for Pedro to compete than Traore because he would have to settle in to English football and he’d have to play in a higher league.
We don’t have enough cover for LB if he does go in the first team. Hope he only goes on loan to Portsmouth if he does go cos i dont wanna see him doing well there not playing for Arsenal like Diarra has:).
