Young Guns has introduced many young players to fans, including strikers Benik Afobe and Jeffery Monakana plus many others, and now we will tell you about another.
Arsenal have a reputation for bringing through midfield talents, and highly rated holding midfielder Samir Carrurthers is the latest in a long line of players looking to add to that list.
The English born youngster is of Moroccan descent, and has all the rugged powerful play of an classic English midfielder but also the class and flair from his African heritage. Many have made the comparison to first team regular Mathieu Flamini, with both players possessing a creative passing range as well as the typical aggressive nature which all defensive players need.
Carrurthers has built up a firm understanding with Chuks Aneke in the centre of the park, with Aneke’s powerful running and passing complementing Samir’s defensive abilities.
But he can also be a creative influence which he showed during a tour of Holland last summer, he took up a position behind strikers Benik Afobe and Jeffery Monakana and thrived as Arsenal reached the final, only losing out in the end to PSV Eindhoven.
This summer should see him sign scholarship terms after another impressive season for the Under 16’s, the exciting prospect could also make a push in to Steve Bould’s Under 18’s side. With players set to go out on loan in January he class and style could add a little extra something.
So remember the name, Samir Carrurthers he is set to be a huge talent for the future.

Will he be as good as Samir Nasri? :)
Do you think he will be selected for the England U16’s team this year alongside Benik Afobe mate
He comes to my school and is probably one of the best in our school. Good passing but couldn’t get past me in defence when our class was playing his
Maybe Kent, i think Benik is almost 100% sure to be in the squad, but maybe Samir will chose to play for Morocco, but i doubt it.
Great work Sanderson, but one question, is he born 1992 or 1993? Thanks.
