Young Keepers Fabiański & Mannone In Wenger's Plans

Arsène Wenger is assessing Arsenal’s goalkeeping situation ahead of next season, with Reserves stoppers Łukasz Fabiański and Vito Mannone set to be involved in the final run in.

Italian Mannone was named on the bench in the 2-0 win over Reading yesterday, after injuries to first choice Manuel Almunia and a slight knock to Łukasz Fabiański, the 20 year old has also been on the bench for the first team during the Carling Cup run, however never made any appearances.

Impressive Vito was given a brand new four year contract, after a series of amazing performances for the Reserves last and this season, and has youth on his side but not experience.

Fabiański a player we featured last week, started those Carling Cup games and has started the past two Reserves fixtures, and now Wenger is ready to give him a chance to showcase his talents in the Premiership.

Speaking Yesterday Afternoon to the clubs official website Arsenal.com, The Frenchman said:

“I maybe want to play Fabianski in the last games, I give one to Fabianski. I wanted to play Lehmann today, especially because I wanted him to play at home and he has been an extremely great keeper for us. What I do for the remaining games, I have to decide.”

On the theme of Goalkeepers, 17 year old Polish Under 21starlet Wojciech Szczesny saved a penalty as the Under 18s drew 1-1 with Fulham. and we have added a new player profile, of Under 16’s number 1 Charlie Mann.
