Well Done Randall, Camacho, Karelis & Other Stuff

A busy round up today, with loads of stories and things to tell you all about. However lets start with yesterdays final Premiership game between Arsenal and Sunderland.

Mark Randall got the final 10 minutes, and i thought was really impressive and was very unlucky not to get a goal on his Premiership debut, as replays showed his goal was onside. Which by the way i felt was a super finish, he started the move with a 40 yard pass to Walcott on the wing before racing into the area and slotting beyond the goalie from a tight angle.

Wenger has always been a huge fan of Mark and it seems the loan spell at Burnley has helped him no end. He looks physically strong and although he did not get long on the pitch yesterday, he showed signs that everything is coming together and he could be a real big prospect. So well done Mr Randall!.

Arsenal are being heavily linked with Atlético Madrid’s Ignacio Camacho, with the Daily Mail claiming Chief scout Steve Rowley has been to Spain to check on the prospect on various occasions. Camacho was room mates with Fran Merida during the Under 17 world cup last summer, and the pair developed a fantastic understanding on and off the pitch.

He has already made 8 first team appearances and has two goals. I feel whilst this guy is a really big prospect that Wenger will stick with his exciting young English players like the fore mentioned Randall and up and coming Jack Wilshere. In other news Nikos Karelis has told Greek press that the coaching staff were impressed with him, but he is still waiting for us to call him and confirm our interest following his trial.

Finally, many people e-mail me or leave comments saying i am a fantastic prospect how can i get into the club?. I will point this out as i have on many occasions, that i cannot get you into Arsenal. But if you live around East Finchley and you are free on Tuesday May 27th, the Gunners are holding a soccer school at Martin Junior School.

So if you think you have some promise, then get your boots and go down and show off your skills. You never know Young Guns could be reporting on your progress next season. David Court and Steve Bould are expected to be hosting them so great chance to meet some Arsenal legends too.

Oh and following on from our Awards ceremony, last night i won the Young Poster Of The Year award over at The Gooner Forum. Be sure to check it out, its a really big and friendly forum with some fantastic debate.

I hope Randall gets his chance next season. Ive got two questions about him though when does his contract last until? and what position long term is he being lined up for?

He has got another two seasons left on his contract, and it seems Wenger prefers to play him on the right of midfield.

I, too, hope that Randall will get his chance next season, and that he takes it. It will also be interesting to follow Gibbs, Lansbury, Merida, Barazite, Wilshire and all the others. I wonder which players, if any, could get a chance in the first team besides featuring in the Carling Cup. Any ideas?

Annoying how his “offside” goal was clearly onside!! Imagine that Arsenal with two goals from two different Englishmen…

Camacho looks like a pretty good talent. He’s played first team football for Atletico already and has good relationship with Fran Merida. Maybe the future midfield pairing would be Merida-Camacho?

    *Dreaming*

I dont see Atlético Madrid letting Ignacio Camacho leave the club as he is home grown and a fantastic prospect plus would he leave as he grew up as a fan and now is in the first team and has started the last four games and he is already at a pretty big club who dont need to leave

Hey i think Randall was great. I have always thought we have never replaced Ray Palour and this randall kid could be the real deal..Didnt watch the match coz over here in Uganda it wasnt shown but i liked he’s movement that is he started that pass to Theo and made his way to the box…. I hope Wenger gives him more games

randall is very intelligent especially for an 18 year old, an outsider would probably not have known he was so young from the way he played.

I was at the game yesterday and Randall was superb when he came on. Most importantly he didn’t look at all out of place on the pitch. Not only that but it was very obvious that the other players had a lot of confidence in his abilities and didn’t mind giving him a difficult pass.

Having said that comparisons with Parlour don’t wash because he’s a very very different player. Randall can do more with the ball now than Shirley could ever do, and I certainly don’t mean that as a slight on Ray as he’s one of my fave players.

Boomer go 101greatgoals.com you will get the highlights. Yeah i like to compare Randall to palour coz he isnt scared to shoot on sight of goal and he seems to take his chances when he gets them..just like good old palour

All good news for the club but what about Jay Simpson? has he a future at the club, I read nothing about his future , I’d like to think that Arsene would give the PFA league one player of the year a chance at the club!

camacho would be pretty expensive, also as we have lansbury, merida, denilson(,wilshere, randall) it would be too much young great central midfielders….he is awesome, i know him for a while but we dont need him really

I have seen camacho play he is a massive player who is destined for good things> but we have plenty of quality kids like him…We really could use that money for another player who can bring something different that we are lacking

was also at the game yesterday and thought that Randall was a breath of fresh air – Eboue is just so frustrating. Randall did a good job and was unlucky with the disallowed goal. Certainly a prospect.

Stockpiling midfielders will just lead to what happened with Diarra and Flamini in the first team, unless a few are released and that doesn’t seem likely.

    Congrats for the award Sanderson.

I really think that this rumour is just made up after Camacho scored 2 goals the other day. I would definately like to get that kid but I seriously doubt it. Madrid won’t let him go, he probably doesn’t want to go and this is not the position we need the most to strengthen.

I heard somewhere that Sunderland actually didn´t have the best of teams out against us and people should remember when Pennant scored a hat-trick against southampton on the last day of a season. I surely hope Randall has a better attitute tha Bentley and Pennant. But I leave the hype surrounding english talent the blame for alot of the attitute problems of these players, imagine the hype if one of these where english Bendtner, Diaby, Denilson, Song and Traore.

Yes well done to Randall but I think he’s going to need another loan spell coz he didn’t get the game time he needed at burnley, whatever the reason. A mate of mine who works at Stoke was saying that his names been flying around, but so have a thousand others apparently, so I wouldn’t read too much into it.
P.S any news on Lansbury’s fitness, from the matches i’ve seen down at Barnet he’s the most promising of the lot (just an opinion).

First let me say keep up the good work, it’s great to hear about these up and coming young players and dream about what they could acheive.

Yeah Randall does look like a prospect, from what I’ve seen he reminds me more of Freddy than the Romford Pele, that run he made to get into the box was great. The sort of thing Freddy used to do.

In regards to having a glut of ‘central’ midfielders I don’t see as a problem as firstly central midfielders generally have better ball control than most and secondly they are young enough to change postions and we know how Arsene loves to do that.

yes wenger might stick with his english talent, but i would prefer talent before nationality. Nationality will not build a great team, if he is better than our home grown players i would be ready to see less english players but more talent

Pierre don’t be thick, if the English kids are good enough they have as much right to be in the team as everyone else, like you say regardless of nationality. It is not strictly true that our players are better than every English player out there is it, you could find at least four better English alternatives for our central defence if you ask me. Personally I certainly wouldn’t complain if we signed Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott, David wheater or for that matter Gareth Barry or Ashley Young. You say nationallity doesn’t matter to you, then it shouldn’t matter to you that we are training English kids how to play and producing good players. You should get use to it because Wilshere and Lansbury are going to make here simple as, and i would bet we will produce more. You basiacally don’t want to see them because you probably don’t like the English. And your wrong about the top scorer as well.

You mean Ashley Young, Luke Young is a right back.

Ashley would be a good signing but we play a very different system to Aston Villa, I wonder if he would have as much impact here
