Burnley Eyeing Up Second Loan Spell For Randall?

Burnley are reportedly closing in on the loan signing of a “unnamed” youngster, with suggestions it could be Arsenal midfielder Mark Randall. Clarets boss Owen Coyle has been busy sealing various deals in the past week, after cashing in on star striker Kyle Lafferty.

Martin Paterson, Christian Kalvenes and Kevin McDonald have already been snapped up, with an agreement in place to sign Peruvian stopper Diego Penny. Burnley took Randall on a three month loan last January, and despite picking up injuries, left an impression on the Scottish manager.

He also admitted he would be keen to speak with Liam Brady about Randall, and any other young prospects that would be available on loan. Coyle added to the speculation yesterday, by confirming he is looking to add some young blood to his experienced outfit.

“I think we’ve got some terrific players at the football club,” “But we needed to add some younger legs because of their hunger and desire.”

Arsène Wenger is known to be a huge of Mark, even handing him his Premiership debut on the final day of the season against Sunderland. However, when Arsenal produced the list of first team squad numbers for the new campaign, Randall was left out, fueling speculation he could be set for a move away.

Should the 18 year old be farmed out, Burnley would face strong competition from Championship rivals Derby County and Birmingham City, who have publicly spoke about their desire to take our young Gunners on loan.

    Hey J.S, nice post again.

Do you think Randall would benefit more at this potential loan spell, or in a carling cup run? Because if i remember, he didn’t get many games in his last loan spell did he?

    Thanks,
    Jamal

What would Randall gain from going back there?

His next step is to break into the first team.

I hope this doesn’t happen. It sounds like his loan spell at Burnely wasn’t too productive.

He played abit, but picked up two injuries and missed some spells. I think he should be loaned out again, because its difficult when you join a team half way though the season.

It would be better for him to be involved in a team pushing for promotion; the fluency of the play is higher. Bendtner came back to us almost ready for first team football after his promotion chasing spell with Birmingham. So the latter or Derby would seem like better destinations.

Agree with the above aswell, its hard to break into a team when they’ve already had over half of the season together.

It could well be Lansbury going out on loan to Burley bcuz in terms of development, Randall is ahead of Lansbury. I expects Diaby to still featuring in Carling cup & FA cup bcuz major part of his game still needs developing.

I think with Diaby Wenger needs to decide what his position is/will be and let him play there. He’s getting to old to be played on the wing for the sake of getting a game. He’s a French international and it’s time for him to shape up or ship out.

I am very happy that ADEBAYOR will stay!!! :D We’re gonna be out of this world next season… I think HLEB will stay as well cause no team wants him at the moment. Maybe Bayern but I don’t think he will leave Arsenal for them…

its been reported just after ade said these comments on him staying he said he can’t rule a move out of milan. and if randall goes out on loan he should go to the championship or the scottish premier league for starting 11 football. he could even go on loan to the prem and come on from the bench. actually quite afew could go out on loan including lansbury maybe even wilkshere? well, a couple of them. i think randall should go on loan till january with the option of extending it or coming back to fight for a place in the squad.

Randall didn’t play much for us at Burnley but the manager said that Randall was carrying an injury. I found Randall to lightweight for my liking and on the start he did make he was over run in midfield and faded away very quickly.

Looks like the excitement of Adebayor committing his future to us may have been premature.

    These are the words he ended the press conference with;

“I am footballer, I have a three-year contract at Arsenal but as you know, a lot of clubs are interested in me,” he said. “At the moment we are just going to sit down and talk and decide what to do.

“Nothing has been decided yet. We will decide next week.”

Hardly a convincing statement of loyalty now is it?

Adebayor is playing games. Literally minutes after he pledged his loyalty to Arsenal he made the comments to sky sports that a decision will be arrived at next week. If we could live without the legend TH14, then no reason we can’t get over Adebayor.

adebayor should stay if he doesnt he may just be another anelka who was a top player then went on to be just an average player.the only way adebayor would succed abroad is if he took fabregas with him and that aint gonna happen.

Yea but Fabregas isnt a very difficult player to link up with. Im not trying to knock Silva here cuz hes a quality player but Fabregas has that quality of managing to bring out the best in the players around him. Bergkamp was the last Arsenal player to really have that quality.

Well considering who little first team football he got at Burnley i would say thanks but know thanks, i personally think that if clubs want to bring in some of our young players on loan then Arsene Wenger and Arsenal should put a clause in there contracts that if fit they should play at least 45 minutes each game because what happend to Kieran Gibbs at Norwitch City and Fran Merida Real Sociedad and like i said before to a lesser extent Mark Randall at Burnley last season was a complete and utter joke and should never be allowed to happen again IMO

What the f*ck should we loan any player to Birmingham any more? It was Birmingham that ended our 2006/07 season. As long as Alex “The ManUSA’s Mole” McCunt still there, we shouldn’t do any business with them.

Silva is a decent player and he is more like a left footed RoSICKy. The way he runs, strike and even the size is really resemble of RoSICKy. Just wonder what is his injury records in Valencia?

I really hope AW will announce Fab4 as our captain next season.

I still think Wigan is a likely destination for some of our young talents (probably the slightly and more experienced ones like Traore, Randall, Gibbs and Merida) Seeing as Wenger has a good relationship with Steve Bruce and hes taken players on loan from us alot in the past (with Birmingham).

They generally only retire numbers if the player retires while still at a club that they’ve spent 10 seasons + with. To be honest i’m not a fan of retiring numbers, i think it gives players added incentive to perform knowing their wearing the number of a past Legend.

Well we arnt exactly pissing midfielders lately. Diarra, Flamini are gone and Gilberto looks set to leave. Cesc is definatly in the team then we have Diaby and Denilson who are always injured. Another option is Song but i think Wenger sees his future in defense although i actully want him to fill Flamini’s void.

So i think its worthwhile for him to stay, who knows, maybe he’ll get a break and be fantastic, similar to Cesc.

I was very impressed with him vs Sunderland, hes obviously ahead in Wenger’s eyes as he was handed his prem debut ahead of player of the season, barazite. Lets hope we’ll see him in an Arsenal shirt in the comming season

    Matt,
Gilberto wont leave until the end of next season when his current contract is up, then hes expected to move back to Brazil to finish his career.

I agree with you that Randall has a big chance to impress next season and he seems to be one of Wengers favourites (and its obvious why considering his passing ability and composure on the ball). Thats why i wouldent want him to go out on loan before Christmas so he can get a good CC run and a chance to further impress.
