After spending the past two days speaking with sources of both sides of the deal, i can bring you clarification of Samir Nasri’s proposed transfer to Arsenal from Marseille.
Young Guns reported on Sunday evening that Samir would sign for the Gunners the following day, after spending the past two days in London agreeing personal terms and undertaking a medical. Nasri’s official website confirmed this news as we predicted, only to later retract the statement.
Since then mass confusion has taken place, with little details about what has gone on coming to the fore-ground. After consulting various people, i can bring you the conclusion. Arsenal did sign Samir on Monday as we said, but part of the agreement entailed that both parties would not announce the deal until July 1st.
The reason is because Marseille would like the transfer money to be placed in next seasons accounts, so they can cut down on the amount of tax and such. OM agreed a fee with Lyon for yesterday for winger Hatem Ben Arfa, but statements have since come out saying there are ‘problems’, and that the signing would have to wait until the end of the month. Meaning the money shelled out on Nasri’s replacement, would also be noted down in next years accounts.
A commenter on the blog claims he contacted the Arsenal.com webmaster yesterday, and was told they have all the information ready to publish, but were waiting for further developments. On the day everything came out, pictures of the player were uploaded on the server, but once they came into the public domain, were swiftly deleted.
Samir was at Marseille’s training centre on Thursday, where he gave his goodbyes to his team mates, and posed for a photo with his former coach.
The much respected Arseblogger and Goonerholic have backed up this statements during this mornings ArseCast.

Anyone know what squad number Kakuta’s been issued with ?
keep up the good work
When Nasri’s personal website retracted the “premature” announcement, at the end of that statement, they also said that there will be further news through an interview with the player on 1st July. So these bits and pieces do add up.
If you people don’t like what you read here, by all means save your time. I ignore sites like Caughtoffside or Tribalfootball entirely, but I happen to value Young Guns. If you think it’s worth your while, just stay away, no need to get upset at all.
Hello all. Just reading all these comments left, about “me” and felt it all really sad. Can`t really believe all you fellow gooners have been takin in by this “me” person who is obviously a YID. Please don`t degrade yourselves by replying to this sub human anymore. Thank you.
And btw Nasri’s site has also put up an excerpt of an interview with Eric Gerets, in which the Marseille manager talks about Nasri as an Arsenal player already. He mentioned that the boy “has character” and “is determined”, and while it’s a good move for him, it’s a loss to Marseille because “one of the brightest French talents is leaving France”, etc. He also echoed what some press said about Nasri going back to the Marseille training ground to say goodbye to the coaching staff and teammates. The manager also said that the boy, who grew up there since he’s 9, probably was so fond of the place that he even wanted to train with his former teammates but Gerets stopped him (or something like that) because Nasri’s “not allowed to do so” and he “didn’t want to have any problems with Wenger.” So obviously Marseille treat Nasri as sold, done and dusted already.

Sorry Lou. I`m new to this site and didn`t mean to reply to your good comments. Just got annoyed as I read the one`s from someone else. Nasri will be a Gooner soon.
Long time reader, first time poster- keep up the good work J, I like many others enjoy your well written site, in my opinion its a cut above the majority of blogs out there. I’ve noticed that you are always one of the first sites to break stories, which says to me you spend a lot of time and energy researching your articles, and for what its worth I have a great deal of respect for what you are doing and the way in which you do it- if that makes me an ‘arse licker’ then so be it…
here are the interview oh HLEB

Dear “Me”
Get your spurs-lovin’ ass out of here. Start your own website, let us all know where it is, and we can criticize you there. But for now, leave us alone.
anyway JS, hope you see past most of the jealous vitriol. Most are really grateful to you for your work. keep it up, I’m sure I speak for many when i say that when it comes to keeping up to date with all things Arsenal, this site is one of the best around, don’t let a few bad apples obscure that.
“My bet is he is that pretentious bullshitting fool Fabregas The King at that most crappy of blogs that is Arsenalinsider”
FTK @ Arsenal Insider does a good job,its a v good blog, he doesnt come across as someone who would do that sort of thing.
“me” = waz………enough said. good website by the way
I have to say that i agree with ‘ME’ on a few occassions. When i started reading this blog,i was really impressed by the information regarding our reserves and youth teams, but over the last few months i must say that JS has strayed a bit. This is in regard to reporting on first team affairs and some of his more opiniated reporting regarding potential recruits as such. You have resorted to giving an opinion about potential signings even though your scouting experience im sure, is not as you would lead us to believe. Leave the opinions to your readers and stay as impartial as possible, as any good journalist would do.
JS, you need to return to your opinion free reporting and avoid the pitfalls that have resulted in a few blogs losing their credibility. Stop reporting about the Nasri transfer until it has been confirmed by Arsenal.com because you seem to be digging yourself a hole everytime you try and present ‘accurate’ facts about why the transfer has been delayed so far. Stop trying to present yourself as been pretty involved in this transfer, because if you were you would have known all that we know now.
I was also offended when you called Hearts of Oak a minor club, because if your football knowledge is as good as readers believe it to be, you would realise that in African football Hearts of Oak is as big as they come. Research your articles before making general assumptions that may offend some of your readers such as myself.
I am not having a go at you, just merely trying to improve your website, and return you to the days when you reported on fact not calculated speculation.
Opinions are like a$$holes everyone got one and as this is a blog I think we’ve got the right to express them. ‘Me’ I hear what your saying and ‘J’ keep up the good work. I think we can all agree that it seems obvious the Nasri deal is done it just a matter of when it’s officially unveil as opposed to if.
I hope Theo is not tempting fate by taking Thierry’s old number so soon.
TBH i agree with Me.
This site, looks good because of the “never seen before” stories, but J. Sanderson does make it look as if he has an informant at the club or something. But he also says some bullshit to create a story, i remember the vela was arrested article, i posted a comment saying he wasn’t arrested, he wasn’t even involved. And you didn’t even reply, let alone correct the article.
The site is good, a great centre for the young guns info, but leave it as that. Don’t post lies, or pretend to have an insider source.
Just my toughts hope are useful to you.
PS. And i do agree that neither you nor the poster on the forum should have mentioned the Arsenal’s webmaster as a leak on the information. It is true he can lose his job.
tabgooner1, that’s ok mate, I knew you’re referring to “me”. But don’t even bother. These people are everywhere on the internet.
Thanks JS, keep up the good work!
“Me”, so what if J Sanderson was embarrassed about his mistake? We all make simple mistakes, we’re allowed to be embarrassed, it’s human. He’s a 17-year-old running a highly popular website for no profit, I think you should cut him a break.
What a load of absolute bull shit. Arsenal.com webmaster would never confirm any such thing. Arsenal website is maintained by an IT company that has nothing to do with Arsenal. Even if they knew all of the stuff they would never disclose it.
You are a joke.
——————————————–
This guy is right.
Why is he right? Because Arsenal always do their transfers behind closed doors. This means keeping everything a secret until the deal is announced on the official site.
Who heard of Eduardo and Sagna last season? No one knew a thing until everything was completed. Remember Rosicky?
Arsenal never speak openly about their transfers. They would get sacked if they did as it would be breaking their rules.
Judging by the replies it seems most of you have taken J’s side, even though he’s been writing about Nasri signing tomoz articles for a couple of weeks now. Dnt get me wrong some of his articles were great.
Would someone please whack Adebysnore, he is boring the pants off me now. One flukie season and he thinks he can ask for the world. Get him out and bring a real striker in!!!
The majority reading these articles are arsenal supporters… as such, there is no need for petty infighting over trivial issues…it lacks class and is not the arsenal way.
For those of you who want the whole truth and nothing but the truth… i suggest u wait the months/weeks it takes for the official arsenal website to publish the ‘truth’.
Although i must say in J Sanderson’s defence his website has more truth in it than rumour. Keep up the good work :)
I love you all really. Sorry everyone, i just love you all to bits.
Leave Britney alone, she’s a human being
If so, then you guys should just try arsenalspot.webs.com
This site is great forsure. Try that one too and you’ll like it.

Great Blog! Take no notice of the arrogant pricks who feel they need to harass you for providing a service, this web site has always provided honest opinionated articles and this one is no different. Thank you keep up the good work
everytime i see an article about nsri i get all excited because maybe just maybe arsene wenger can turn him into a 40-50m rated player and the way he actually tries to keep himself up while losing balance shows great honesty instead of rolling around on the floor like a slug being smuthered in salt!..but anyway samir nasri has alot in store for us gooners..ALOT!
nasri news is good for us we will see soon him in emirates
I’ve known Adebayor before coming to Arsenal. He does have a very nice smile but he can sure rock a boat. Go back in his history and you will find that he has had problems with every coach he has been with. It’s not a coincidence what is happening now. Even if he was on 80k a week now, Ade would have been asking for a payrise. It’s a mentality problem. This affected him during the season just gone, trying to channel balls like TH14. Whilst I like his determination to convince himself he is the best player in the world, he is at risk of seriously crashing down to ashes. Only if he can keep his head down and work, but he can’t. His mentality is…..”waow, this is me…playing at one of the biggest clubs in the world as the main striker…I must be a great player for this to happen”. That’s what happens when a boy suddenly rises from rags to riches. He forgets his source. This is drawing a parallel to Anelka when he left. My advice is sell this guy now for at least £32m to Barca or Milan and USE THAT MONEY to bring in an “assassin” who truly deserve to be our main striker.

While you certainly have insight to share with Mr. Sanderson and everyone else, calling the other viewers “arse lickers” and whatnot makes you the one looking like a wanker. Even if you were totally in the right in terms of opinion, your method of getting your points across were coarse and unpleasant. In short, Fuck You for being a twat-face.
[@ Mr. Sanderson]
I’m a United fan, but I read and enjoy this blog just like any Gooner would. Keep up the stellar work you’ve been producing, and kudos to you for taking “Me”‘s comments in your stride. Also, from a neutral point of view I’d like to see Nasri in action at Arsenal, as it would make them an even more entertaining team.
*apologies for double-posting
[@daymee]
The ‘assassin’ Arsenal would look to is named Eduardo da Silva, no? :)
And my own view is that no one likes protracted transfer sagas and stuff, but football’s a business, satisfying fans ( with regards to finances anyway) is not going to be at the top of many clubs’ agendas. There’d probably be a hundred reasons why the official announcement of Nasri’s signing has taken so long, but for clubs to disclose them would be inane, from the point of view of the hierarchy.
me is a stupid son of a bitch !
[@jingen]
Eduardo is a good player but not a top ‘assassin’.
Having him on the pitch with a ‘ruthless assassin’ like Torres is what I’m talking about. Arsenal need a ruthless one. A one-chance one-goal assassin. There are not many around at the moment. Eto’o is available. He can be that assassin Arsenal need. I’m an Arsenal fan through & through but there is no assurance in Arsenal’s strikeforce IMO. In 2003/04, I could relax knowing nothing would stop Arsenal from scoring. There was an assurance, a brutality about an Arsenal attack. Every defence was shit scared. Are defences as scared of Arsenal now? I think not.
Finally Jingen, I admire your coming here to comment despite being a Utd fan. It shows your maturity and like talking with pple who understand football.
Arsenal don’t need to change a whole lot. We simply need to get rid of players who don’t want to be here. Get rid of the cunts I’ll say. Toure, Sagna, Clichy, Walcott, Fabregas; are five players I know want to play here with their hearts. David Villa has made known his admiration for Arsenal despite the millions he could get at Chelsea. These are the sort of players Arsenal need to break the bank for. PLayers who make sporting decisions over economic ones.
You’ve been wrong more than once on this transfer so i’ll take this article with a pinch of salt. Also, I dont wanna read 200 comments kissing J’s ass. I wanna read about arsenal. Thats what this site is about in the first place am i right??
