Clarification Of The Samir Nasri Transfer

After spending the past two days speaking with sources of both sides of the deal, i can bring you clarification of Samir Nasri’s proposed transfer to Arsenal from Marseille.

Young Guns reported on Sunday evening that Samir would sign for the Gunners the following day, after spending the past two days in London agreeing personal terms and undertaking a medical. Nasri’s official website confirmed this news as we predicted, only to later retract the statement.

Since then mass confusion has taken place, with little details about what has gone on coming to the fore-ground. After consulting various people, i can bring you the conclusion. Arsenal did sign Samir on Monday as we said, but part of the agreement entailed that both parties would not announce the deal until July 1st.

The reason is because Marseille would like the transfer money to be placed in next seasons accounts, so they can cut down on the amount of tax and such. OM agreed a fee with Lyon for yesterday for winger Hatem Ben Arfa, but statements have since come out saying there are ‘problems’, and that the signing would have to wait until the end of the month. Meaning the money shelled out on Nasri’s replacement, would also be noted down in next years accounts.

A commenter on the blog claims he contacted the Arsenal.com webmaster yesterday, and was told they have all the information ready to publish, but were waiting for further developments. On the day everything came out, pictures of the player were uploaded on the server, but once they came into the public domain, were swiftly deleted.

Samir was at Marseille’s training centre on Thursday, where he gave his goodbyes to his team mates, and posed for a photo with his former coach.

The much respected Arseblogger and Goonerholic have backed up this statements during this mornings ArseCast.

This transfer has obviously been done a long time ago, otherwise a lot of influential would have egg on their face. It’s not like Wenger, the Pape guy from Marseille, the coach, Ribery, and numerous commentators are gonna spout bullshit unless they know exactly what they’re talking about. Relax guys, this transfer is a done deal, we might as well start focusing on other prospects now.

Cant help but say i kinda agree with “ME” alot of it is calculated guessing and alot of the time there are no sources, just guess work.

    HOWEVER………..

I think J does a great job, alot of reserve and youth team stuff i didnt know till i came here, j is obviously passionate about Arsenal and this is his blog, its testament to him that for a blog he has so many avid readers, there are arsenal fansites that are not as followed or read as J’s and he does this off hos own back, HE DOESN’T GET PAID.

Sure we have all grown frustrated with headlines saying Nasri will sign tomorrow etc… and perhaps J has been guilty of that, but its the fault of ours that we are so eager for news, we fail to wait for Arsenal.com to release info so we search the internet for snippets of information, its not J’s fault we are impatient, if he didnt update his site, we wouldnt come, simple, he merely feeds our need for news, therefore how can he be attacked for that!!!!!!!

Ha! I don’t often post on these sites, but ‘Me’ got me going.

Most footie websites/national papers/fan sites/blogs print whatever ridiculous rumours they want about Arsenal (and every other team in the world) no matter how unsubstantiated. My background is 25 years in magazine & online publishing and I have to say that J’s site/blog here is one of the best of breed.

So what if he’s not 100% accurate all the time? He’s a good 500% more accurate than all the other sites put together and he clearly cares about his reporting. His research seems far more credible than most and anyone can verify (as I have done) that OM’s financial year indeed starts in July. The way JS has handled your comments “Me” is highly professional and controlled. Hats off.

I will not be as personal about you, “Me”, as you have been about JS, but to suggest that anyone would lose his job over J’s reports is simply ludicrous. The way you posted three posts within a few minutes ranting about the same thing says way more about you “Me” and your frame of mind than JS and his site.

WE like this site “Me” – it’s different and well put together. Get off your high horse and take a chill pill or whatever you guys do these days. Or maybe, “Me”, you are actually the author of one of those other exceptionally poor Arsenal fan sites (count ’em!) looking to score some points?

Keep up the good work JS – your site/blog makes a difference. Ignore the saddos.

    Cheers

This is a great site. It’s well very written and has a great deal of information that can’t be accessed anywhere else. Great work please keep it up.

I think that some people need to take some valium and relax a little instead of getting insulting to the author you may simply chose to go build a sandcastle in your playpit and kick it over when done….go cry to mummy.
Sometimes information is delivered in the best possible way and with the right intent and details can later change. A legal contract is a difficult thing to interpret sometimes, one small clause, if not released to other parties, can change a deal, delay a deal etc…that is what we are seeing here guys.

    It’s the weekend relax.

Abramovich is trying to buy Real Madrid (they are not letting him) so he’s trying another Channel now, let’s feel sorry for him and be grateful that we support the Arsenal

Me! There are people who like this website. I like it. At the moment everyone talks about the transfer rumours. But sometimes the official men don’t know what to do, here is Adebayor.
He said that in early afternoon that ‘I will stay at Arsenal.’. Everyone was calmed. After that he claimed that ‘I don’t know what will I do.”
I think if J.S. makes a mistake with a news, everyone can forgive him. Primarily because of that everyone knows that Nasri will sign to us, this 99%. It just the question of the time. (Probably.)
And finally: it was just a sentence with the official website. Everyone can make a sentence either with a reliable source or not.

I just wanna say it’s really depressing being an Arsenal fan these days, we aren’t selling quick we aren’t buying quick. I’m talking about first team signings (with exception of Ramsey ofcourse). I know players are gready these days but I am trying to picture how many times ADEBAYOR kissed his Arsenal badge when he scored goals last season?!! I can only recall how many times he’d put out his arms in a cocky way and welcome the worship from the fans. The fans that sang for him every single match. The fans that called for him when he was on the bench… He can’t even come out and say I appreciate the support I got last season and I want to reassure all the Arsenal fans by letting them know “I am staying”.

If he and Hleb goes we will lose three key players of our last season. Three players which we built out squad on, I was hoping to see Chelsea and Man Utd lose their key players and we kept ours so we can have an advantage on them.

I say to myself everyday stop carring about who’s leaving and who’s not just wait untill the beginning of next season and we’ll see where we stand. But this could become one of the worst transferperiods for Arsenal in history…

Guys, I have to agree with ME first post. What Me is trying to say, is that most of the time J.S makes it same as if he has direct link to the club. To be honest they way some of the article is written seems as if it came from an inside source. The next day you come back that story change. Especially the Nasri saga. Most of the news on this site is on other sites on the internet so who’s to say J.S is not reading what we all are reading on other site. I can see where ME is coming from. Atleast he has the guts to say how he feels. When you erite someone has to critize you. everyone don’t have to agree with what J.S says. Even all the kids we signed so far i read about it elsewhere before coming here. As a writer be more objective and don’t make it seems as if you are in the board room everyday or having lunch with AW twice a month. This same thing happened when J.S called Accra Hearts of Oak a minnow and someone try to correct him about the history of that club, but he still did not accept that correction properly. I hope JS will understand criticism comes with the territory. Other than that i still rate this site way better than most.

Thanks for your concerns Me, i take your points, but the way you put them across could have been better.

I think he raised some interesting points, and i will certainly learn from this experience.

I dont blame Me, as he is allowed to have his say. One of the things about creating is a blog, is that people can share there views.

Agreed, there is a thing called constructive critism. And sadly That was not displayed today. There was no need for rudeness.

Firstly, in a previous article months ago about Pedro i put the home office. Then and i dont know why, i put Fifa for some reason, and when you commented i had realised my mistake, although your comment helped tip the balance to adjust it.

So your comment was no longer needed as it had been adjusted, so i deleted it. Your further comments have all been published, even though they are in a negative nature.

I could delete everybody that says a negative thing before they even get on the blog, so you would never know. But i dont, because i like people to have there own opinions.

As stated on the france football site yersterday , nasri will sign on the 20th july just before linking up with the squad on the 22nd , true or not, haven’t got a clue. But i did hear an interview with E.Gerets the marseille coach praising him very highly , and saying that he’s off to Arsenal and that was on RMC sport
JS keep your head up dont let the shit bogg you down, you’re one of the very few good site around, otherwise they wouldn’t come cliking around. keep the good work

Who the hell is ‘ME’ anyway? He’s soo quick to criticise, missing the small detail that JS actually stated it was not his ‘source’ but rather essentially chinese whispers. On top of that ‘ME’ intimates that he is also a blogger, yet won’t let on which site is actually affiliated with! My bet is he is that pretentious bullshitting fool Fabregas The King at that most crappy of blogs that is Arsenalinsider, apparently the only ‘interactive blog’.

JS I like your work, and I don’t like many blogs so in my mind, your one of the better arsenal websites, and most of all i appreciate the fact that you are constantly updating the site with new info and thats what fans like me are interesting, also your angle is slightly different and is consequently a refreshing read. I think you will agree that the internet is full of idiots that have nothing better to do than stir shit.

Me to honest even though I previously suported your first comment and I still do, but I think you are becoming a little bit annoying. Leave the man alone. You have made your point and some of us agree with you, even though the child that you are insulted us. There is no need to keep going on and on. If it is that serious leave the site and don’t come back. It’s his site and he is not getting paid by any of us. He can post garbage if he wants to. You can critize him but keep it constructive and move on. Goodness.
