Gallas – Fabregas – Walcott Model New Arsenal Kit

Picture From Orlando Sentinel.com

Above you can see the leaked picture of Arsenal’s brand new home kit for the coming season. During the Cesc Fabregas Show, it was hinted they would be in the style of the 88/89 kits.

The kit will be worn throughout the club, from the first team to Reserves, Under 18s, Under 16s and Ladies teams.

it looks nice and ok from the side, but horribly from the front, because then you don’t see the white parts anymore and it looks like boro or charlton or, urgh, manutd

I loved the last one (and the away, although I know not many are with me on that.) – it was classy and understated. This one is too much like past kits (i know this is a stupid problem) with the white stripes down the side, I dunno, it just bothers me. I have no real problem with it, it just isn’t nice enough for my tight pockets. May wait to see the away. I am thinking of either ‘Sagna 3’ or ‘Eduardo 9’. Or maybe ‘Nasri 8’ :D but if none of the kits are nice enough, I dunno…

So, the leaked pictures were accurate… I don’t really see how the leaked images are all that like the 89 kits… not that Nike could have put three stripes down the sleeve! They look alright, though. The keeper’s kit looks rather interesting – looking forward to seeing what that’s like in a proper pic!

And Frichie – those stripes are the now-infamous redcurrent, not black.

I guess it means Gallas is staying – that’s the main point to be made! (He was greatly inferior to Thuram in the France Colombia friendly last night by the way. But Nasri wasnt much good either….)

Personally i don’t like the new kits, for me it seems to lack the understated class which is Arsenal. Also not a big fan of the v-neck shirts and the black stripe between the white and red… the black stripe makes it look like the white stripe has been added onto the shirt at the last second.

that said the tops might grow on me…

does it really matter what the tops look like?

I am a firm believer that the kit u wear is important, if one looks good, they feel good and if u feel good u play better. Man United’s kit was really nice this year and they accomplished a lot… as was arsenals (and for the majority of the season they performed like champions). I loved the old all white real madrid kit too with the collar, when zidane and hierro were playing… they proved to be very successful in that kit too !

So perhaps an edge to winning is having a good kit !

    my 2cents/pence/rupees anyway !

to all those who like this shirt, are you really Arsenal fans?

This is not an Arsenal shirt, it looks like a Charlton Crewe Alexandra or Rotherham kit… where’s the white sleeve?? a 4 inch white stripe on the sleeve doesn’t do it!

Besides it is just a copycat of Nigeria’s top of 2 season ago, replacing green by red, so Nike’s designers have worked overtime to get us a new top again!

I have enough of Nike and will for the first time in 30 years not buy the top!

Well, to me, the current home shirt is the “gold standard”! Red body, white sleeves and not too much frippery.

So, if that is 100, I rate the new one as about 80. It’s not too bad and I am sure I’ll get used to it but I probably won’t buy it.

Don’t matter whether we like it or not it is Arsenals kit so i for one will be buying it! If it was designed to look as though you had just stumbled out of a club and had just messed yourself i would still buy it (actually thats a bit extreme and i probably wouldn’t but you get my point!).
J i have bout 20p so far so if you know anyone in the youth/reservs tell them to put a few hard tackles in so that i can save a bit more :-)

A GK’s kit needs to be garish, its not just about style, it needs to help on the pitch. Look at Cechs new GK kit, its bright orange! Black isn’t very intimidating to a striker run towards goal.
