Semih Kaya, Mujangi Bia & Demetris Christofi All Linked

Arsenal are tracking Galatasaray’s 17 year old defender Semih Kaya, with his agent admitting the Gunners have invited him to London to under take a trial. But Yarar Ali Togutay told the Turkish press that Arsenal are not the only club to have shown an interest, with Italian Champions Inter Milan also monitoring the situation.

“Last month, Arsene Wenger invited him to a training camp at Arsenal and even Inter Milan has made contact with us.”

Semih is the current skipper of he Turkish Under 17 team, but he was not involved in the Under 17 European Championships last month, which was held in his native country. At 182cm he is quite tall for his age, and is said to be in the style of former Gunner Martin Keown.

“Semih is the captain of the national under 17 team in Turkey, He is a central defender and very strong already with solid experience, despite his young age.”

Turkey have some fantastic prospects at youth level, and are definitely a big up and coming football super power. I’m not really convinced we need another teenage centre back, but with players set to be released during the summer months, places will certainly open up.

Charleroi’s Congo born midfielder Geoffrey Mujangi Bia is said to be attracting interest from both Manchester United and Arsenal for his services, after breaking into the Belgian outfit’s first team squad.

The 19 year old has been compared to Bayern Munich’s French International Franck Ribery, and with the Gunners yet to sign a player to send to link club Salamanca, could snap up the young prospect for around £2 million. He can play on the left, right, or behind the front pair, as is noted for his incredible speed and power.

The People has another saga of Arsenal V Man Utd in a transfer battle, this time for Cyprus International striker Demetris Christofi. His move from ENP FC to AC Omonoia is the most expensive deal in the history of Cypriot football, with a fee of €1,000,000 being exchanged for the player.

Although he has only just linked up with his new employers, Omonoia are aware of the English interest and would be willing to sell the player immediately for £3 million.

“We will not stand in his way, We will use the money to strengthen the team for the start of the new season. However nothing official has been received.”

The article says he has not signed. Just a contract has been agreed, which we already knew, it also says he will sign it when the tournament finishes which we already knew anyway

The BBC “understands” is not confirmation of anything. It will only be confirmed when/if he appears on the arsenal website.

the BBC are simply re-hashing old news there. He WILL sign but hasn’t yet. I am more worried about bringing in a couple of defensive players that the team needs badly.

Wow, a belgian player at Arsenal, that would be great. Mujangi Bia only came through this year because supposedly he had a few difficult years mentally. But for a young player he looked very complete. As you say, strong and quick, but he really stood out technically as well, even if it was just the belgian competition.
And he seemed to be able to slot in everywhere in midfield, typical arsenalstyle. Is this a credible rumour? (If there is such a thing.)
Btw, great site you got here, I check it daily.

182 cm for a 17 is quite short for a CB. AT 17, you’re stature growth will normally slow down significantly. If anything, the maximum he will grow is 1 or 2 cm more.

And as a Jupiler watcher myself, Mujangi Bia is a quite a talent, fast, very skillful but lacks composure in the final third. His end product is quite poor as well. Not really Arsenal standard.

Bia sounds like exactly the kind of player we need, some1 who can play on either wing and is fast and strong, the other kid is young but i cant see any reason why we shouldent go 4 him, the only future defencive star we have at the moment in the youth set up is nordtviet (defencivley speeking that is), although a couple of other have the potential to make it of course, they just dont really catch the eye so often.

If we get Bia and Nasri, we’ve replaced Hleb (if he goes), and make sure Fabregas will never have to play a whole game on the right wing again.
