Vela And Ramsey Penciled In For Juventus Debut

Arsenal duo Carlos Vela and Aaron Ramsey have been penciled in to make their first appearances in a Gunners shirt against Italian side Juventus during the Emirates Cup next month.

Vela only began his summer break last week, after scoring two goals in as many games during Mexico’s  double header of qualifying fixtures for the 2010 World Cup. He has flown away to Cancun, where he will spend the next weeks enjoying a well earned rest, after an incredibly long season with relegation threatened Osasuna.

Carlos reportedly told the media two months ago he would be featuring during the Juventus match, as Arsenal look to defend the Emirates Cup in the two day event. The Gunners will be heading back to training next Monday, where new-boy Ramsey will meet up with his new team mates, however Vela will not be present due to his extended holiday.

News broke today that Ramsey will make his home debut in the Cup opener, and line up alongside some of the greatest players in world football. Arsenal face the “Old Lady” on day one, before a mouth watering clash against Real Madrid just 24 hours later.

Both players have been handed significant and important squad numbers, in 12 and 16 respectively, and look set to play a big part in Arsene Wenger’s plans during the coming season.

This is a very interesting article : http://www.arsenalinsider.co.uk/arsenal-news/breaking-newsben-arfa-transfer-falls-could-this-mean-no-deal-for-arsenals-nasri/
    Here is a **** quote:
I have now had it officially confirmed from a source in Marseille that the deal with Nasri WILL NOT be affected and the player will be released to Arsenal for July 1st. The source lends credence to the accounting theory that was released on Young Guns website that stated the transfer will take place on July 1st in the new accounting year with the agreement of Arsenal. The Source also indicates that the day that we announced Nasri (23rd June 2008) he had been an official Arsenal Player for two hours before the Marseille President obtained a deal with Arsenal football club to delay the financial transaction, hence the recent for the retractions and denials. The source was unable to explain why Arsenal Football club had not made that information available to our fans.
    WTF?

this game still has not sold out. still on sale on Arsenal.com. I guess 2 games in as many days is a lot of money for a friendly. But its great that you can take the family and sit together AND watch some great teams play to boot. Really looking forward to seeing these 2 play. I want to learn more about what they can do.

As for Adebayor – I cant beleive barca want him. Is he a Barca type player? Has Henry had a hand in that? Barca are happy to pay £26m according to Guilleme Ballague. PLEASE TAKE HIM. I’ll drive him there myself for that much!!

We all knew the Ben Arfa thing didnt affect Arsenal, i dont know why they wrote that.

I and alot of other bloggers have been informed the deal will be announced either on, or shortly after July 1st, as Marseille would like the cash to go into next seasons accounts, and the year ends today.

The same reason is why Ben Arfa deal stalled.

Going back to Vela, isit just me or does he look like Ronaldo in that picture?

Aye, very much so. Lets hope he plays like him but doesnt act like him, then we’ll have the worlds greatest player.

Cant wait to see him, it’ll be interesting to see Ramsey aswell, especially against that class of opponant with the first team. Is that an indication that he will be straight into the first team (i dont meen as a starter, although u never know) next season or am i reading too much into it?

Shuaib! The interview will be announced tomorrow, at least I hope.
(Because there are a sentence from Nasri’s website: En attendant une interview de Samir début juillet nous vous proposons un extrait de la conférence de presse d’Éric GERETS qui ne manque pas d’éloges. This means: ”
Pending an interview with Samir early July we offer an excerpt from the press conference Eric GERETS which is not short of praise.”

So, the admin didn’t mention the 1st July date again.
But I hope… the 2nd July is an another date to annonunce Samir.

But I have heard that the OM and the Arsenal didn’t announce Nasri because there are a tax-system in Marseille, and I don’t know what is the next reason. :DDD

If you needed any other comfirmation that Nasri will sign even Sir Alex has us down as signing him: ‘You expect Liverpool to buy players and Arsenal have shown their hand.

‘They have bought (Samir) Nasri [who is set to join from Marseille] and the young boy Aaron Ramsay so they obviously will be up there too. So I expect the same ones (to challenge).’ Quotes from: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=552736&sec=england&&cc=5739

    “I am satisfied with Fergusson.”

Ill only be satisfied with Fergy when hes retired, I hate the Rangers wanker. Still cant believe Keano played for a Rangers man AND became each others fav people… Ill never be able to get my head round that.

“”vela and ramsey are no good, we need proven players to win trophies. like santa cruz or tuncay, someone who is lethal infront of goal.

Me said this on June 30, 2008 at 5:23 pm””

Well Vela is proven at Segunda Devision and La Liga level, plus he was the top scorer in the U17s world cup, and very few past top scorers in that tournament have gone on to have anything less than very bright careers. I agree about Ramsey but at 16 he can only get better and he was very good for Cardiff last season and that was at Championship level. I meen Walcott and Bale found their way to the Premiership by the same root and both are good at this level now (ok Bale isnt as proven as Walcott at Prem level but that due to injury, and he was very good before he picked that injury up).

Ramsey will make his debut before the Emirates Cup. He will probably take some part in the opening pre-season fixture against Barnet at Underhill. The Welsh newspaper site that you clearly read this story on actually meant that Ramsey will make his Emirates Stadium debut as an Arsenal player against the Italian giants, which will probably happen as a sub.
